  3. The Cardinals don't play til Sunday, hopefully we see some of Streveler then
  4. Yes, this beer from LBJ and the Blood Orange Crafty Radler from New Brunswick are salvaging my weekends Let us know which ones you liked best.
  5. So.... Madden came out on PC today. Available on steam starting at woof $80... still, I know I'll get my money's worth. A spontaneous vacation day is in order
  6. Or if you prefer: I'm Malcolm Lewis' uncle and you guys are missing out on a future legend
  7. **** I just ordered my Texada jersey too
  8. RoMby Bryant gets a shout out, that's cool. Must have made a big impression during their time together in CGY
  9. In a world where then 37 year old Josh McCown makes a roster and Kap can't the fix is clearly in. Always have to think of this stat: 144 quarterbacks have thrown 200+ passes in year turned 29. 143 on NFL roster when turned 30. Kap only 1 not
  10. Before anyone accuses me of virtue signalling I'd like to suggest doing the opposite be called 'Deplorable Signalling'
  11. bUT hE's NO gOOd THatS wHY heS OuT oF THe LeagUE
  12. If we could point to one group of uniformed badge-wearing child-rapists and condemn them we would. Unfortunately child-rapists tend not to self-identify or conduct themselves in the public eye. As for protesting wars... do you seriously not remember people protesting Iraq? Literally millions of Americans attended rallies leading up to and following the fall of Baghdad. Not to mention other countries that held their own protests. Politics... thousands are protesting the dismantling of the USPS (definitely the work of corrupt politicians) in the US right now this very moment with a heavy contingent of veterans among them. It's not weird for people to want the police to stop murdering unarmed black men (and make no mistake that's what they are doing... we have it on camera). It's weird to defend a police officer firing a weapon with one hand into an unarmed man's back as he tries to enter a vehicle full of children. It's like... totally indefensible. That cop ****** up hard and Americans of any color should expect better from their police.
  13. He's the best QB you've never heard of... just ask him
  14. I don't recall Glenn having a very good game 😛 but the other guys made a valiant effort for sure. What a painful way to start your fandom but we're glad to have you on board
  15. Did anyone else hear the call as a Zach Collaros long bomb to Ehlers?
  16. There were absolutely small groups of people being very vocal about their dislike of the jets name and logo, calling it 'creeping militarism'. It was discussed nationally in the news and dragged on here on social media til their concerns were drowned out by the 'Go Jets Go' chant. Google is your friend, guys. It's weird to claim nobody made a stink about the name/logo when it was so hotly debated, if only briefly. You might recall NATO forces including Canadian fighter jets were bombing the piss out of Gadaffi in Libya around the time of the reveal. Canadian troops had been on the ground in Afghanistan for a decade. It's fair to be concerned about Canada's affairs in global military operations and it's fair to be concerned about normalizing tools of war via sports... but no, I don't think these people are making a resurgence and stripping the name and logo off our Jets.
  17. Edwards was a blessing, we were lucky to have such a trooper. And a sweep to Brock Ralph gets stopped for a 1 yard loss... again for the dozenth time
  18. The cold dispassionate clinical use of a racist term isn't necessarily racist. But there is a time and a place and maybe this just isn't the place.
  19. I'm not happy to see otherwise successful clubs paying for the Als and Argos to play in front of empty stadiums year after year (each team paid over 600k to prop up MTL alone in 2019)... but if it's what is best for the long term health of the league then I guess it's necessary. I think the name change is best for the long term health of the league and therefore necessary, like it or not. A million dollars doesn't even sound that bad. I would guess there will be an uptick in merchandise sales following the rebrand. Short term pain for long term gain.
  20. That is the EXACT correct answer
  21. Someone like who?
  22. Some people can't get out of bed without being offended by something. Google 'Empire' and see how many business names come up for Winnipeg alone. Quite obviously 'Empire' is a far more acceptable a name judging by how many people are currently using the term without backlash. Besides, you can't worry about offending every cry baby... these probably would be the same people that think the Jets name and logo is too militaristic and they can go kick rocks. Besides all of that... Star Wars theme music
