Evans is not going to be QB1 in BC though. Toronto was absolutley the only team left where he would come in as the starter. He seems fine with the back-up role since he was willing to take a new deal in BC that pays him accordingly.

We have no idea what the club thought of him but there was zero chance they were going to cut Palardy in favour of a rookie. Palardy was coming off a club record breaking season in 2010 (a record he would match in 2012) so it was the right move at the time. Nobody, Calgary included, knew how Paredes would turn out.

Don't recall Parades needing this much time to grow. We had him but as a rookie, he wasn't going to unseat Palardy, who was setting franchise records with us. He goes to Calgary after we cut him, and the rest is history. TBF to Leggs, Parades wasn't being asked to do all 3 kicking roles so that's on our coaches for maybe asking too much from a young kicker.

He had a pretty good playoff game against the Bisons (3 picks) but I haven't seen a lot of draft talk about him. JC Abbott from 3DN had him in the honorable mentions section of of an early top 25 article he did but haven't seen much else yet. Not saying he won't pan out eventually but he's now on his 5th team (OTT, BC, EDM, WPG, SSK) and hasn't been able to stick.

If the reports about the aborted trade with Edmonton from last season are correct, we had a deal in place with him for an extension so I'd have to think they can't be too far off in numbers unless Lawler is using FA to drive up his asking price.
