Don't forget Cody! They really wanted him back but they wanted to see what FA could offer as well. -

His twitter is comedy gold... he's now spinning it as being a case where IF he had made it to FA, BLM would have signed with Sask. He says BLM told him personally that he was going to test FA so that's what he went with (apparently Ballsy isn't too familiar with sports cliches and typical athlete interview answers). Also says he knew this was coming for over a week since he's closer to the situation than most but if you're that close to the situation, how did you get it so wrong? -

Don't Look Back - 2022/2023 Bombers Off Season

We have Richmond being groomed as a possible replacement (assuming he can bounce back from his injury). You never know what the next guy will bring though. Stanley was already established as a top OT from his time Calgary but I don't know that anyone here expected Yoshi to turn out like he did. He had already been cast aside by two teams and even the Bombers had concerns so they had a weight clause added to his contract. 6 seasons later, he's a staple on the right side of the line and one of the most popular players we have. -
Those are pretty common closures though and the issues are usually cleared up in a few days. If the restaurant was doing that poorly, it may have been the final straw for the owners. No point spending money to fix things if they were already contemplating shutting down.

Owner says it was a financial decision. https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/business/2023/01/20/mcphillips-eatery-just-did-not-make-a-comeback

An Ooni is on my want list but I haven't convinced the wife yet. 😂 A guy had one tailgating before a Bomber game and I was watching him crank out pizzas in under two minutes. He did say it had a bit of a learning curve but you figure it out quickly.

I bbq & smoke year round. I use a welding blanket as a cover to help retain heat so I'm not burning as much fuel. Blow torch is my post sous vide searing method.

Over here, it's 2 Airfryers, 1 InstaPot & 1 Sous Vide... she loves her kitchen gadgets. I stick to the BBQ & Smoker for the most part but use the air fryer now and then.

Pretty much how I felt when I saw the new Last Of Us show described as a period piece when it's only set in 2003...

Yeah it's not a good look for WBD, considering they have no issues partnering up with Dana White for his ridiculous Power Slap promotion (which they are using AEW as a lead-in for). Dana was just recorded slapping the s**t out of his wife in a Mexican bar on New years and they stayed silent so that's OK I guess. Old tweets, that have since been apologized and atoned for are worthy of a lifetime ban though.

Yep, in the 2023 season he would qualify if stays with the Bombers but not if he went elsewhere (need 3 years with the same team or 4 years in the league). -

Agreed, the league has been trying to do this for a while (see Imports qualifying as Nationals) but this piece of information seems to have flown under the radar so I wonder if this has caused some issues for teams and their FA planning. -

Some interesting info from Naylor about the new guaranteed contracts. If you're a GM that likes to build through FA rather than draft & develop (Chris Jones, I'm looking at you), it might be a bit of a disadvantage for you as the current team can offer an guarantee to a player but you can't. -

I had similar thoughts... the bottom line is that he needs game time to have a shot at pro football, regardless of what league he hopes to play in. I don't find it that unusual. It's not like he doesn't have ties here too. His dad finished his CFL career as a Bomber and his cousin coaches for the Bisons. Goods also hasn't lived in AB for a while (he moved to Connecticut in 2018) so that might not be home for him anymore. -

Sometimes you have to experience the lows in order to appreciate the highs. Could have been worse for Eli though... at least God didn't have him sign in Saskatchewan. That's a low nobody should have to experience. -

His interview with Tait actually gives you a lot of the answers you are looking for. The team/MOS had his back and were in contact with him all of 2022, even though he was no longer under contract. He acknowledges his decision might not have been the one the other players made but they supported him regardless. He says his desire to play has only grown during his time away and the support he got from the team. https://www.bluebombers.com/2023/01/18/theres-a-fire-i-feel-it-eli-returns-for-3-years-in-blue-gold/ -
That's the general consensus from what I've seen on social media... despite their reputations from when they were younger, Jay & Mark were/are good people and even better family men. Jay was driving his two daughters back from a cheerleading competition when they got in to this accident. Both girls suffered serious injuries and one is potentially paralyzed so it's a pretty devastating situation for their family.

They've changed his style at times to compensate for injuries/inexperience in the secondary. He played more traditional when that wasn't as much of a concern. He broke his hand during the Grey Cup game.
