I think we'll see big changes if we have another good regular season and bomb in the playoffs. I don't see how you can keep everyone together after anything less than a Grey Cup appearance, if not a victory. Pressure is on!

Not sure Dylan Schrot will get a real chance but he is a legit star for the Bisons. Hope he gets some game reps in preseason.

Generally it seems like when we decide that all three of our rostered QBs are so good they are above competition is when everything comes crashing down. Remember going into 2012 we re-signed Pierce, Brink, and Elliott and apparently our QB depth was the best it had been in decades. Again in 2017 when we had Nichols, Lefevour and Dom Davis. Best QB depth in decades. Both years turned out our QB depth was a joke. I don't mean to be overly negative but I just get a bad feeling... if Nichols has another year like last year and Streveler has a sophomore slump........

Jones didn't get hurt til game 3 and didn't see the field on defence at all so I really don't think he won the safety job. I believe that he had a good camp but there was never any doubt who would be starting at safety.

Essentially the entire defence, IMO. Definitely got some talent on offence but I don't see anything at DE or LB worth getting excited about. Your secondary is a who's who of "who?"

I'd be shocked if Eli plays this year... I'm still looking at him like a bonus if he ever works out. But the potential is certainly there.

Yeah that roster is far from impressive. But if anyone can make it work, it's Mike Reilly. Lots of holes though.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they go import at safety. Derek Jones has been a backup for 4 years and now he is suddenly going to become a starter after a bad injury ended his year last year? It's possible but there is some obvious risk there. And I don't see any other Canadian on the roster who should be starting at safety. So if Jones isn't performing, I could see an American winning that spot.

I am not talking about Hawaii, I'm talking about SMU. They play in the FBS and their current head coach makes over 2 million per season.

June Jones doesn't need money. As someone else mentioned he donated his entire Ticats salary to charity. He spent almost a decade as a NCAA head coach making over a million per season and willingly stepped aside as HC of the Ticats. Highly doubt this is about money.

Frankly aside from the community owned teams we have no idea how much money the others are making. It's easy to look at struggling attendance in BC and Toronto and assume they are losing money but we don't know the numbers.

I agree that Burris is miles behind the other two when talking about the best QBs.... but he is also one of the greatest players and personalities ever to play in the CFL. I wish we'd got him instead of Willy in 2014... we wouldn't be talking about a Grey Cup drought anymore if we had.

Adams to the slot is the only move that makes sense. Matthews has to take the boundary WR spot and you're not putting Adams at field WR... that would be ridiculous.

Can't be overstated how important this signing is. Absolutely huge. I am so pumped. All Nichols has to do is put it in the general area and Matthews will go up and get it. This is exactly what we needed.

Burris, Ray, Calvillo... that was the heyday of the CFL. CFL football was never more popular than it was during that era and hasn't been as popular since.

Hackney was 260+ pounds but damn what an arm. I don't think he actually made it to main training camp. That was 2009 with Mike Kelly.

We traded Kamau to Hamilton for Brazzell. Then Kamau went to Edmonton and became a superstar catching passes from Ricky Ray.

To be fair, Robertson blew out his ACL before camp. He healed up and came to camp the next year but got cut. You're right, he did get drafted too high purely based on his 40. But he was also a good DB in college, just a little undersized. Sometimes picks just don't work out. If he hadn't had the knee injury we might be telling a different story.

Rookie American receivers... we need someone to step up. The receiving corps was sub-par last year and they haven't done anything to improve on paper. I have little faith in Thompkins or Washington becoming star receivers. So it's going to have to be one of the rookies. Dom Williams, Josh Stewart, and Matt Hazel all look legit and come with decent resumes outside the CFL. Kenneth Walker is another interesting one. Smaller receiver but blazing fast speed (ran a 4.26 40 at UCLA pro day)... has a little bit of return experience so he might get involved there as well.

So basically every player that doesn't spend a decade as a starter for the Bombers is a bad pick.... got it
