Rumour: Jets/Isles to Deal on Draft Day?
Have to be careful with how you word that, because he blew past 20 goals once on his way to becoming one of the youngest guys to ever score 30. Then he got hit with a lockout season and it's not reasonable to count that. And he's likely to put 20 in the net this year. So really, 20 goals once in 5 years could easily turn into twice in 4 years in a hurry. And let's be honest, we know Atlanta rushed him. He may be in his 5th year but he's also 22 years old. It'll come. Probably but maybe not. A little humility until he actually proves something would go a long way towards getting people off his back. Though I'm sure he doesn't care.

Rumour: Jets/Isles to Deal on Draft Day?
6 million for a guy who has only surpassed 20 goals once in his 5 year career. That's why people ride him.

Quinn Smith
True, but if Neufeld starts at tackle for us, I'm okay with missing out on those guys. I doubt either one makes it to pick 11 anyways.

Andrew Ladd Misses Game Controversy
You believe way too much of what you read on the internet.

I'm sorry but there is no way Gill drops to the third round. This is still a very weak draft, regardless of what people might try to say.

Alexander just got cut from a team with possibly worse Canadian depth than the Bombers and Newman has a grand total of 8 career defensive tackles. The jury is definitely still out on what exactly we have to work with at safety. When all is said and done it might even be Matt Bucknor who sees the most time as our starting safety... just way too early to tell.

More Players or More Money?
I get what you're sayng, and it makes a lot of sense. However I believe that if you asked coaches and GMs around the league, they would unanimously agree that roster sizes in the CFL are too small. The argument that you can't develop players at the pro level doesn't fly for me. Look at Nick Moore's career trajectory since entering the CFL for an easy example. You can't make the argument that he hasn't developed as a player, even though he hardly saw the field in his first couple seasons.... It's not about taking some schlub and making him a star, it's about giving a talented athlete some seasoning and a little time to get used to the Canadian game.

CFL releases Combine info (including participant list)
What, a guy who will never play pro football? I'd say you nailed it, then.

Doug Brown does it again?
I used to be "with it"... then they changed what "it" was! Now what I'm with, isn't "it", and what's "it", seems weird and scary to me.

More Players or More Money?
I don't think that's a huge concern if we are only talking about adding, say, 4 players to make it 46/50. One extra linebacker isn't going to kill the LB coach, same for most other position groups. We're also seeing more teams bringing in extra coaches who serve as defensive or offensive assistants. For example, last year Saskatchewan had both Barron Miles and Richard Kent coaching their defensive backs. I don't think coaching would be an issue. Meaningful practice reps are possibly a legitimate concern, but the fact is right now there just isn't room to develop enough players. Imports come directly off the practice roster and start when there is an injury. Surely it would be better for them to get into games beforehand and get some rotations on offence/defence and participate on special teams. I don't buy the argument that "Having more players who barely practice and never play won't help player development." It is better for a player to be working out with the team and sitting in the film room and learning the team's system than it is for him to be sitting on the couch at home, even if he is only getting a few real reps per practice. I don't think that teams need a huge expansion to the rosters, but I do feel like they are just a bit too small right now. Expanding to 46 active players (3 QB, 21 Imports, 22 Non-Imports) and 50 total, would give teams a little more latitude in deciding who to keep around and increase their ability to develop their young players.

The bar in grand marais as you drive in. I think it's called the Sand Box but I always remember it as Mike Mercury's. It has vlt's, a restaurant, bar, patio, vender etc The Sand Bar, actually. Lots of people still party there. Bit of a hassle to get to and from, but still good.

Cabin owners complained about the Surf Club being too rowdy, so they adjusted the closing time to 11:00 pm rather than the regular 2:00 am. A few years later, the place was a ghost town and now it is closed down. What a waste.

Dominos is absolutely awesome now. They changed a couple years back and it is far better now, one of my favourites.

There is no lawsuit that can win because someone said something on the internet. That's what free speech is there to protect. Now they could I suppose depending on what was said go in front of one of those unconstituational human rights commissions but those are a whole different discussion that is probably best left alone cause it'll get more than a few people riled up. You never know. I believe Brian Burke is still trying to sue Poonerman, Slobberface, and Sir Psycho Sexy for claiming online that he cheated on his wife with Hazel Mae from Sportsnet and got her pregnant.

Football Gameplan's 2014 CFL Mock Draft - March
Yes, I believe we will draft an OL.

IMO that shouldn't make a difference. Just take the best player... realistically this isn't going to be a one-year turnaround so we shouldn't be skipping out on a better player just to get someone in camp this year. Now, if there is legitimate NFL interest, then that should obviously weigh into the decision as well.

Football Gameplan's 2014 CFL Mock Draft - March
Hey this video is not bad. Definitely a different perspective. I have a hard time seeing us using our first round pick on Beau Landry, but who knows. I am interested to see what happens with Duvernay-Tardif... I kinda agree that he will fall in the draft due to NFL interest.

Any wagers on how long the new team in Ottawa lasts?
If they ever bring back the Titty Cam we know the end isn't far off

I don't believe that Walters would draft a guy just because he is a centre if he feels there are better offensive linemen available that are guards or tackles.

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif has NFL aspiration and is doing his own pro day. Not Lavertu. Looks like Ottawa will now take Lavertu with the Bombers likely (in my opinion) taking Goossen. Lawless said Walters told him his top 3 picks are Duvernay-Tardif, Lavertu, and OL David Foucault. So in all likelihood it will be one of those 3.
