  1. 50 Riders - seems obvious 20 - Flyers. I was a Pens fan until the Jets came back, so the hate was easy to build. Their fans are terrible for a different reason that Rider fans, but still terrible. Simmonds, Giroux, Hartnell etc. all make me angry just discussing them. 10 - Preds - PK Subban is the worst. They've also had Hartnell, and now Simmonds, so that makes them easier to hate. Oh, they're also the Jets' biggest rival. 5 - Capitals - Couldn't stand Ovie at the height of the Crosby-Ovechkin battles. Gained a lot of respect for him at the World Championships when most of the Russians left the ice for our anthem, but he and Malkin tried to make them stay. They still have Tom Wilson though, and they're still a Pens rival. 5 - Leafs. - TSN and Sportsnet force feeding us the Leafs all season makes it almost impossible not to hate them. 10 - split evenly among Ducks, Wild, Stamps, Lions, Bears, Packers, Patriots, & GS Warriors I don't care enough about baseball or soccer to hate any teams. I don't really care about basketball either, but GSW are so cocky that I've found it in me to hate them anyways.
  2. Jump to 6:20 for John Oliver talking about the WWE.
  3. You & Goalie were harping on this last year too. Then they tore it up in the playoffs.
  4. So Scheif and Wheeler are lazy, locker room cancers, and possibly sleeping with teammates wives? Good thing we got to the bottom of this.
  5. They won the Cup his last year in Chicago. He couldn't have been that big of a distraction. Then they brought him back a few years later when he was off his big contract.
  6. I think he'll retire. He's old and beat up. His contract was front loaded, so he's not making as much anymore, and the Canucks get stuck with a worse cap hit than the Panthers do if that happens.
  7. Bold prediction; Panthers will sign Bobrovsky this summer and be a playoff team next year.
  8. Washington can beat them too.
  9. I'm not against the idea, but not sure I'd pay to watch it. Maybe if they guaranteed the starters would play the 1st half, but I can't see that happening. Watching a bunch of guys I've never heard of, on teams I don't care about, play a meaningless game isn't appealing to me.
  10. He's soundly beaten a lot of the top guys. Poirier, Aldo, Holloway, Mendes, Alvarez. His only losses were to Diaz at a weight he had no business fighting at, and Khabib, who's probably the best lightweight ever. Of the current fighters at lightweight, the only guy I can't see him ever beating is Khabib.
  11. TJ Dillashaw popped for peds this morning. One year suspension.
  12. Lol, I was thinking that too.
  13. I think the problem was Roussel's leg, not his head.
  14. There's no way he'll get suspended for that. Shouldn't have even been a minor penalty, imo.
  15. Fun fact: Lemieux has as many points as Hayes since the trade.
  16. Seriously, how does a dman get caught out of position like that in the last 10 seconds of a tie game? Brutal
  17. Yeah, that's definitely a thing in gov't unions. I can only speak from my family's experiences, but my Federal office workplace is infinitely better than what my wife has to deal with with the province. They're under the constant threat of "restructuring". Her manager is never around, b/c she's been given multiple additional duties due to "restructuring". My wife's supervisor retired, so now she's doing her job, as well as her old job, and was only bumped up one level on the payscale. People are taking more sick days due to stress, and nearly every day at least one person in the office is crying. It's crazy.
  18. What department is he with? My wife is under Child and Family Services and they're understaffed. The stress level in their office is out of control. Hopefully the gov't can re-distribute some of the excess staffing budget from your buddy's department to hers.
  19. Yeah, I thought he looked pretty bad tonight overall, not just the pp. It seems like he thinks the game too slow. He telegraphs what he's going to do when he has the puck on the pp. I'd like to see them use Niku there until Buff is back.
  20. Birmingham had 17k fans for their first game and 6,500 last weekend. That's not a good sign.
  21. No, they are not. I might actually backtrack on my comment a bit, b/c there's still lots of time for Scheer to say something really stupid at a "yellow vest" rally that could turn voters off. If the people in charge of the Conservative campaign are smart, they would tell Scheer to go into hiding until Election night.
  22. I don't see him resigning. IMO, best case scenario in the next election for the Liberals, if they're led by Trudeau, is a Conservative minority. Philpott's resignation was a huge kick in the nuts for Trudeau. It just sucks the best the Conservatives could come up with for leadership is Scheer.
  23. WWE‏Verified account @WWE 2h2 hours ago WWE is saddened to learn that King Kong Bundy has passed away. He was THE bad guy when I first started watching WWE.
  24. Maybe for yourself, but I think that's a pretty big oversell for the average Canadian. I don't say that to downplay what's happened, bc it's obviously bad, but imo this isn't the kind of juicy story that somebody who normally doesn't care about politics is going to spend much time talking about. I was in the office today and brought it up, and basically all I got back was, "yep, typical politician". And I work in a Federal government office... Maybe I think too little of people, but I honestly believe Trudeau having an affair would generate way more discussion among most Canadians.
  25. Although the analogy works, I'm not sure this was the best idea from the Toronto Star, considering his family history.
