  1. Doug Brown said that after the last round of negotiations one of the owners commented that they "bent the players over the boardroom table". I'm not sure why they brought this guy back again. I'll have to watch the PA's press conference now. I've read in a few places that it was amateur hour.
  2. Never happen. Maatta is worth more than Kane by himself, never mind adding in a 40 goal scorer. Postma is a throw in.It would take a huge offer to pry Maatta out of Pittsburgh. Maata is not worth more than Kane. If he is then Let's trade Trouba for Crosby. That's not much worse than the other trades you've come up with.
  3. Penton saying that the Bombers have extended Greg Peach. Also said the Stamps signed Gerald McRath.
  4. A cap team isn't going to want a backup goalie who's making nearly $4M/yr. A good backup option for them would be a guy like Stalock from SJ or Johnson from Boston.

  6. Wonder if we'll see him join Johnson in Ottawa?
  7. So much for the league not negotiating publicly.
  8. Maybe he thinks their NI talent isn't what it used to be. When they were stacked he could take those chances.
  9. Nice to see another DE signed. There aren't very many listed on our roster right now.
  10. Bobby Orr. No dman would have come close to his numbers if he had stayed healthy. Lemieux was the most talented guy I've ever seen play the game. It was unfair how much better he was than anybody else on the ice. Lemieux on those Oilers teams from the '80s would have been crazy. He made Rob Brown a star...
  11. It's pretty crazy that he ran the ball over 900 times in college.
  12. I had a blueberry beer at Luxalune in Winnipeg, but it didn't have any blueberries floating in it. It was really good, but I wouldn't be able to drink it all night.
  13. Beat me to it. Interesting signing. If he can stay healthy he could be a good one. That's a pretty big if though.
  14. Darren Cameron ‏@Darren_Cameron 1m #Bombers announce the club has signed veteran running back @KevinSmithRB.
  15. Agreed. There's lots of talk that the Sharks want an upgrade in net. Miller is probably their best chance to do so.
  16. I'd take Trotz on the Pens any day. I don't like that they only fired Shero w/o Bylsma. Any GM worth hiring won't want to keep Bylsma anyways.
  17. I wont disagree but I enjoy Fox news for a) entertainment value and I like to hear multiple views on issues. Its the crazy rights and crazy lefts that have issues because they will blindly believe everything their "source" tells them. Its like the wing nuts that absolutely know that 9/11 was a US government conspiracy and the buildings were detonated...if they were even there (because they were holograms) or that Aliens abducted the Missing Plane. Like sure, maybe Aliens did do it, but that wasnt my first thought. lol The problem with this analogy is that those wingnuts don't have their own tv station that millions of people watch religiously. Fox is able to potray their conspiracy theories as news. Fox News is entertainment if you're smart enough to take it for what it's worth. Problem is there are a lot of very uninformed people in the US who believe everything Fox tells them. (Obamacare death panels, for example)
  18. Yeah that was such hypocrisy it was stunning. You want to claim how "open-minded" and freedom-loving you are, yet if someone wants to dedicate a news channel to reporting news in a way that you don't agree with, then censorship is the only answer. Just pathetic. I can't stand hypocrites. If you say you believe in something, then stand by it, or just shut the hell up. Wasn't the fight over making it mandatory for all carriers to provide, rather than just being able to exist?
  19. Nice work ladies & gentlemen. Easily the best forum to talk Bomber football, & arguably the best one in the league. It was great we could bring in guys known around the CFL like Rids & TBieber. When they're added to our veteran posters it makes us, IMO, the most knowledgeable fansite in the league.
  20. QB - Willy, Hall, Brohm RB - Ford, Volny* Tarver FB - Pontbriand*, Fitzgerald* REC - Moore, Denmark, Watson*, Kohlert*, Urrutia, Feoli-Gudino*, Brescacin* OL - January, Greaves*, Morley*, Neufeld*, Jones, Goossen* DL - Vega, Turner, Anderson, Griggs, Lucas*, Thomas* Moseley LB - Kuale, Wild, Banks, Newman*, Briggs*, Stephan* DB - Sears, Washington, Suber, Randle, Robertson*, Alexander*, Bucknor*, Jones*, West* K - Maher
  21. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=452199 "The CFL apparently has a counter-proposal prepared for the players - different from the reported $100,000 yearly salary cap increase over the life of a new eight-year CBA - but will not reveal the new bottom line unless the players abandon any revenue-sharing model." Smart people saying stupid things. Why would the players agree to that?
  22. Because when you're the best player in the world the bar is simply set higher. I agree that the way that team is built is flawed. Letang is a good offensive defenseman, but they really do need someone better in their 1D slot, someone who you can rely on to settle things down if need be and Letang just isn't good enough defensively. Perhaps some of their younger prospects can get there but they ain't there yet. Crosby and Malkin at centre is great, but they still need some wingers who are worth a damn for them to play with. Neal & Kunitz are fine in the top 6. Neal sucked in the playoffs, but he was one of the best players in the league over the last few seasons. Kunitz, Dupuis, & Crosby play well together. People say it's only b/c of Crosby, but nobody on their right wing wrapped themselves in glory once Dupuis went down for the season. Dupuis certainly isn't in their league offensively, but he's really fast & good defensively. I wished at the time that the Pens would have let Letang walk, or traded his rights for a pick, rather than sign that big deal. A guy like that is a luxury, not a necessity. Their pp worked just fine with Martin & Niskanen running it.
  23. The issue here is lack of imagination. You'll get under a guy's skin more using creative trash talk rather than an outdated, vulgar slur. I'll declare victory in the trash talk if the other guy has to revert to that nonsense.
  24. As it turns out he may get away with the QB glitch, but, in my view, I don't know that what he gained in Burris over Glenn was worthwhile, considering he could have had two FA starters for the money he paid Burris. But that's an old story. Desjardins may have got away with it, but then he did trade away a 1st rd. draft pick and the rights to another player for only a roster player, so does that start the talk that-he's-an-idiot on again? I wonder who he could have had from the Stamps in the expansion draft if they didn't take Glenn? Would that haul have been more impressive that Pruneau? Perhaps, but no real guarantee that Burris chooses Ottawa over Winnipeg. Glenn was assurance at the time. On the flip side, it allowed them to protect two extra Canadians. That is the area that would intrigue me most as to who they could have picked over J'Micheal Deane. I get why they took Glenn in the draft. I'm just wondering what they could have had instead.
