alright, then we're agreed.....the new Edmonton FC is named after the Elks Club of Canada service group. Excellent choice....
-
it's Elk.......not Elks. That's a real serious point of contention for me....

whoever comes out of this series is gonna get the **** kicked out of them by Colorado....
-
Jesus Price vs Helle is gonna be a hell of a matchup, and maybe a preview of next winter's Oly Gold Medal game...

this is the only sensible thing to do....good on you, Joey!

it's sickening, and if I'm being honest, I'm trying to find my voice as a white man in all of this. I knew absolutely NOTHING of residential schools growing up. Until Gord Downie started talking about it and Charlie Wenjack specifically, I'd never even heard the term. The fact that this was going on until 1996 is sickening to me. My objections with religion are well documented on here, but this is an even bigger black eye than already existed. I'm sick to my stomach the more I read/learn about all of this...

Nobody knows the answer to that yet, but the single game betting thing needs to happen. It's passed a lot of hurdles, but still has a couple of readings to go before it's officially good to go. Absolutely HAS to get approved before they shut down for the summer....

I'M HERE!! Desperately begging for any CFL news. Still extremely confident in a CFL season starting in August....Labour Day at the VERY latest. Als and Argos holding a lot of things up because they'd rather not play, but are sort of going along with the rest, for now.

This is, indeed, what happened. This summer is their first chance during McDavid's time to get our from under the rubble and build...

Alternative Media.... 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

Zero question. They're actually not close. I'm old school so I chalk it up to Canadian vs American but whatever it is, McDavid is in a class all his own.
-
Rest vs Rust...... It's a fine line.

this. They all ran on Lowest Common Denominator.....nobody ever went poor betting on the stupidest among us.

I don't want people just coming and going anymore, like it was pre-pandemic. I sincerely hope there's some form of "You must be vaccinated past this point"..... this India Variant is no joke, and is about to **** us all really hard in about 2 months from now. The last thing I want is people just coming and going across the border...

In order to make plans, they need to make a decision probably in the next week or so. If they don't know within that frame, then they'll have to push it back. This definitely can't be left to the last minute. But I definitely agree that you can't blame the league when it's the virus that's at issue here. The provinces are trying to make the best decisions based on what the virus is doing, and the league has to go with what each province is doing. It's really all about the virus right now, and nobody knows what it'll do next...

I didn't get AZ for my first dose, but every independent study says 12 weeks for maximum efficacy. Definitely each to their own, but I know I'd absolutely be trusting that science.

Habs gonna have 2500 in the stands Saturday... Even that small amount will have an impact. They'll make some noise and make an impact.

Starting to get a bit concerned about the newest variants which are starting to take hold over in Europe. Apparently the vaccines only have about 33% protection against them, and they're seeing the numbers climb back up again in the UK. Provinces like AB that aren't preparing for that at all could be in for some scary times this summer and into fall...

I think it's a fair question to ask, but not one that will even be broached until things are looking MUCH better in MB. When the hospital system is under siege as it is, things just look really really bad for the province, and it would be a tough ask for the Jets to try and get fans in the arena. Now, what if the Jets advance past the Leafs and a month from now things look WAY better..? Are other teams going to be allowed to cross the border to play up here? Will the Jets have to play in a US bubble? The world could look wildly different (better) one month from now... Having said all that, I saw a clip of Chipper talking about this subject earlier in the season, and he said they have never had any intention of having fans in the stands at any point this season. They are fully ready to take on whatever financial burden is necessary in order to make sure everyone is safe.

some fun light reading as we dream about the upcoming season: https://www.cfl.ca/2021/05/27/ferguson-anything-possible-collaros-centre/ Enjoy, fam!

Good for MB... It's exactly what Alberta SHOULD HAVE announced yesterday. The smart thing to do. Instead, we go Full DeSantis..... Sigh.
