  1. Pinawa actually put up a sign telling people to, and I'm paraphrasing a touch, "TURN AROUND AND GO THE **** BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM" along the highway. I'm super proud of them. Our family cabin is at Victoria Beach, and it's close enough to Wpg that, in a worst case scenario, my parents could go to Wpg. Having said that, they won't be headed out there until the worst of this is over with anyhow. My dad lives full time at BelAir. They went in a couple months ago and bought about $1,000 worth of supplies and are locked down at their cabin and not going to the city for months.
  2. I just watched it last weekend and I nearly cried watching it.......**** what a brutal pancake job by Lemon.
  3. For the good of everyone, I sincerely hope the borders get closed so the Ontario cottagers can't get through, and I hope these "Covid-Cops" that are being put out there by the province start heavily fining people who are circumventing the "Stay At Home" directive. There's now a tip line that people can call and essentially rat people out that aren't isolating as they should be. I'm stoked that it exists. The sooner we implement complete government-mandated lockdown, the sooner we can get through this...
  4. right from the very beginning, officials said "If this works, it's going to look like it was an overreaction" and that's exactly what we should all be hoping for. If everyone does their part and just STAYS HOME, this will be over that much sooner and we can get back to normal.
  5. the problem is, if you get sick, you could overwhelm the local hospital. Whether it's Kenora or the East Beaches (Pine Falls Hospital) or the Whiteshell (Pinawa Hospital), you could be a part of a major problem. There's a reason they're telling everyone to stay away. I just don't understand why everyone is looking for loopholes.
  6. every single health authority is saying "don't go to your cottage".........gotta stop finding loopholes. Just stay home and save lives. If everyone locks down, we'll get through this in time to actually spend some of the summer where we want. The longer people keep trying to find loopholes like this, the longer the whole thing is going to last.
  7. And funny enough, I don't have any of the playoff games because I thought I might jinx us by taping them. I have watched the CFL highlight pack many times tho....
  8. Alberta in depth explanation of modelling shows that the virus will be on its way out by the end of June, if we can maintain the public health measures for another 3 months. Should hit the peak mid-May, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a slight loosening of the rules sometime in June....
  9. I saw someone....can't remember if it was Kives or Colin Fast.....saying that they should do a whole Manitoba 151: Higher Proof thing for next year...ha ha. I was super stoked for Bachman Cummings at the Leg this summer, but it is what it is. It'll be just as sweet next year if those ol' boys can stay healthy...
  10. I'm trying to figure out what this is...is that Candy in SCTV?? Either way it's hilarious...ha ha.
  11. Don't even get me started...... every time I see some kind of "meme" online talking about "shut off the media and watch how quickly things get better", I want to punch a baby. Everyone knows covering your ears, going "LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!" means everything is better now...
  12. If anyone missed it, Jason Kenney held a big "fireside chat" type presser last night for AB. Their modelling shows the peak in mid May. Expect to loosen restrictions a bit shortly after that. Spent most of the time talking about how Notley ran AB into the ground (oy.....) and how it's going to take a long time to dig out from all this. Still... Gave me hope for being able to get outside and do stuff this summer.
  13. there was a follow to this that quoted one agent as saying he really didn't think it would come to this, and the PA/League would come to an agreement whereby they "wouldn't interpret the language in that manner", so it likely won't come to this....still....interesting how it was written.
  14. Labour Day.... At the very earliest.
  15. He's a really good young player. An undersized guy with a high motor... It's so sad.
  16. I don't know about the provincial process, but I heard that since the federal payment program opened, they've been processing 1,000 applications per minute (!!!) which I can't even wrap my head around...
  17. Why so angry today, TUP??
  18. it's just crazy to me that anyone is concerned about the economy when there's lives at stake. I get that we need to at least keep in mind how the world will operate once this is all over, but right now to be thinking that it's more important to restart the economy than it is to save lives......that is just bonkers.
  19. Mass gatherings will be the last thing to reappear, but I'm hoping businesses are allowed to reopen sooner than anything...
  20. They won't take any chances of this thing breaking out. They'll be overly cautious and the lockdown will continue for the better part of the summer. If we're all out and about by Labour Day, I'm calling it a win...
  21. This is so wildly racist, xenophobic, and Lord knows what else, I can't believe someone would "say it out loud".........ai yi yi.
  22. TSN going to show some CFL content during the COVID shut down........ https://www.tsn.ca/cfl-encores-on-tsn-schedule-1.1463140
  23. maybe the most interesting thing, to me, was that Americans who play CIS ball will now be considered NIs. As explained by Walters, if Brian Dobie recruits an American to U of M, and they play for 3 years and earn their degree, then they'll be declared NIs for the CFL. Pretty interesting...
