Funny (??) story: They (UCP) actually got rid of an NDP tax credit to entice tech companies to move there. I've read stories of at least 2 different companies that were going to set up shop in Calgary (and help a downtown that is a ghost town, thanks to O/G companies taking money and then moving their office to Houston) and decided not to, because they felt the government was against new tech. It's just wild....they really think oil is going to be around forever and there is zero back up plan for when it's not.

the current price of oil is buoying things, but the second it crashes again.....good night, sweet prince.....

I'm not AS averse to 100yd field as I am to reducing the number of Canadian players, but I'd still prefer 110. There's something special about the fact that our field is so much bigger (length and width) than the NFL field that makes it seem "tougher" to me.... like our game is tougher to play. I dig that and don't want to change it. -

heh.... I tweeted almost the identical take. It was a trash comparison by Farhan, who clearly wants NFL-North. Changing # of downs and Canadians is akin to changing # balls and strikes in MLB. It's a fundamental change that would be wholly unwelcome. Absurd. -
This looks incredible. I'll be there for the IMAX showing as soon as it's out...

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American defensive back Robert Priester. Priester (five-foot-nine, 180 pounds, Wyoming, December 25, 1993 in Tampa, FL.) played in two games for Winnipeg in the 2018 season, recording seven defensive tackles. He was in training camp with Edmonton in 2019, and played five games with Tampa Bay in the XFL in 2020. -
the most tone-deaf politician in Canada, possibly...??

Winning just enough games to finish 9th and not get a decent draft pick. This is supposed to be what the fLames do!! Friggin' Jets....
-
Gretzky's 50 in 39 games is the one that will never be touched.....above all of them. It's the one that he mentions as "untouchable" whenever someone brings it up.

Nobody's saying at this point, and CoD really doesn't matter. We've lost one of the all time greats. Imagine the confidence it takes to be a drummer in Dave Grohl's band....??? The balls on that guy. And he was incredible. If you needed it soft and finesse-y, or full on' wailin', he could give you everything. Fell down a YouTube rabbit hole last night and ended up watching their show from Wembley that they've got posted online. God, I love the Foo....and Hawkins was such a key cog.

that is amazing.... hope you still have it as a keepsake somewhere!

that's what's happening now. Brian Jean, former leader of the WRP, just won back his seat in Fort Mac campaigning on a promise to oust Jason Kenney at the party's AGM in April. Kenney and his lackeys are trying to maintain power, while Jean rallies support for tossing him. It's a crazy amount of infighting right now. Every sane person is just hoping that it eventually leads to an NDP government elected before too long...

Winnipeg is just great....it takes a lot of ****, but it is great. Love seeing the "**** you, Covid" stance...

Need one so bad......June 10th weekend for sure.....end of August for sure........need more.

So, in my little "Morden, Alberta" town that I currently live and work in, it's near 0 masks. I saw a couple staff in No Frills that still wore them when I popped in yesterday, but no customers and most of the staff didn't. Last weekend in Calgary, pretty much the same. I'd say about 10% masks right now. All this as the wastewater shows spiking Omi B.2 all across this redneck wasteland....

a no-doubter for 77...... as an aside, I collect vintage Bombers jerseys, and am regularly scouring eBay for new items. Someone has a game worn Mikawos 77 on there for like $500. Whewwwwww....spicy meatball. Too steep for my taste, but a cool item for a die hard fan, I suppose...

the thing is...he's 100% right, in that there are far worse options (hello, Brian Jean...) in that party who would like to see it go the direction of the PPC. Total lunatics. Jason Kenney is a right wing *******, to be sure, but sadly, it gets way worse within that party. The province desperately needs Rachel Notley in charge....
-
He sure is, but I think there's more of them than Progressives within that party. I think he'd get them in line (sadly). It's a low ******* bar, but Kenney is the better option...

fwiw, AB doing the same..... doing weekly dashboard updates now. Really leaning into the "out of sight, out of mind" methodology. Bold strategy, Cotton....
-
Kenney is too far left (ha!) for the far right crazies, and he's obviously too far right for anyone centrist, so he's managed to alienate everyone. Jean would at least unite the right. A united Right will always win in AB....always. The NDP (and really the good of the province) needs a UCP in disarray...

exact same here (Con gov't probs). Testing is ridiculous and useless. TP% averaging 25% the past week, but have seen some days around 30% (acknowledging that tests are insanely low so that metric is near useless). We'd got as low as about 18-19%TP before it starting ratcheting up again. The poop water data is far more accurate than anything we have now.
