Why did the score flatter us? Take away the fast start for the Riders was the game that one sided? I didn't think so, the difference came from the points the Riders got early and that was the margin of victory. You are over reacting to a poor start that they couldn't over come and mistakenly thinking the entire game went that way. It did not.

delay of game penalty, unsportsmanlike penalty... I mean when a guy grabs his arm that's wrapped up and goes down and then on his way off the field is laughing and fist bumping guys with said arm it's pretty ******* blatant that it's a stall tactic so throw a flag. Will end that **** pretty damned quick.

People just need to keep in mind that it's never as good as you think when you're winning and it's never as bad as you think when you're losing. Football games always come down to a handful of plays and the Riders got the plays they needed today, specifically the int and kick return early that set them up for gimmie TDs. Bombers just never made any of the kind of big plays that you need to make to win the game. It wasn't a blow out or a mismatch really, it was just the Riders got their handful of big plays early and the Bombers never got any. Difference in the game right there, they had chances to make those plays and just never made them.

Lapo relies on people missing tackles for his offense to work, Saskatchewan wasn't missing many tackles today so it didn't work and he had no adjustments for that fact. Now the Bombers D... they were missing tackles like it was going out of style.

they cracked down on the intentional offsides late in games or the intentional time count penalties, I expect them to crack down on this as well.

As long as Hall is the DC here get used to giving up more yards than anyone wants, just the way he is. However did you notice that they gave up less points in the 2nd half? Guy is perfectly capable of making adjustments. The trouble with this game is that they gave up 14 points off a god awful int throw by Nichols and sloppy coverage on a kick return. 14 points, that's the difference in the game all because they got sloppy in 2 areas they are normally much better at. Compounding the poor all around start was the fact that the offense went cold for a long stretch and failed to get into the endzone when they had some chances. It was a terrible first quarter, after that it wasn't too bad a game.

but what do emergency services buildings have to do with this?

Yeah I think it was Cuthbert who had the "Oh no" and I never interpreted it to be an "oh no the bombers are going to win" It always struck me as more of an expression of disbelief cause let's be honest no one expected that play to be made. I have vivid memories of exactly where I was and how I reacted to that catch. It really was a pretty spectacular thing to witness.

Blame my mom, tennis is one of her favourites so I picked it up because she would watch it all the time. Alls I know is anyone but Nadal. **** that guy and his boring ass brand of tennis.
-
well at this point he can't be any worse than Hurl. Heck we could probably just not play Hurl and have 11 guys on the field and it would be an immediate improvement!

I think a big part of it is that people are just waiting for someone new to shake up the scene. It's why Zverev (the good one) is getting so much hype, it's why people hold out hope that one day Kyrgios will pull his head out of his ass, Federer is 36 for gods sake and still the best player in the world, Nadal is on the wrong side of 30 and still beats everyone on clay, Djokovic and Murray are around that 30 age and starting to break down and people are wondering who fills the gap when they aren't at the top of their games anymore. Too many young players are just grinders in my opinion, just play it safe and return everything and don't lose and wait for a mistake, that's where Shapovalov brings the most hope, the kid goes for it and isn't afraid of going to the net even if it's not his strongest point in his game.

Is Mulumba better than either of the two we already have? Is he good enough and Corney good enough that we could start to phase out the older Westerman? Can we trade one of them for something we need? MOAR ASSETS!
-
is it possible people see Mulumba and think Muamba and that's where the linebacker confusion comes in?
-
It's not that they are biased, it's that they're idiots.

Labour Day Classic: Winnipeg @ Saskatchewan
17to85 replied to Rich's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
well if you want to make things easy then sure. I am all for someone putting a hurt on Glenn early and often. Hell I'll live through some penalties from Westerman if it get Glenn planted on his ass a time or two. -
Tsonga might have been the 8th seed but that dude hasn't done much of anything lately. Guys on the way down are a lot less scary than guys hanging around close to the top 10 in my opinion. That being said he's got a good chance to win because I really believe that momentum is a real thing.

There is no question that Glenn will put up a lot of completions and a lot of yards and people will freak the **** out about it, the key will be how often that winds up in the endzone and how often the ball is turned over. Just the way Glenn plays vs. the way our D plays is going to be frustrating for us Bomber fans to watch. -
It's really something to see how far tennis has come in Canada. Shapovalov is winning a lot of fans with the energy he brings. I am a fan simply because he doesn't fall into the trap that a lot of players are falling into of just trying not to lose, he goes out there and goes for it and tries to dictate points. The fact that he's got a well rounded enough game to do it is great. Even if he goes out next round (And let's remember he is playing something like the 12th seed next round) what he's done the past month is pretty special. Youngest player to reach a masters semi final, youngest in a long time to go this far in a major in a long time. (for comparison at 18 Djokovic only made the third round) Hell of a run for the kid. Hope he can keep it going. Hell he's got a great chance to do even more just based on how insane this US Open is with the top players dropping like flies. He's in the opposite half of the draw to Federer and Nadal, but even they are playing like ass this tournament so far. Anyones game and it's been a long time since we could say that about a mens major tennis tournament.

Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)

Or Grimey as he liked to be called. -
HE SLEEPS 8 HOURS A NIGHT! well he's pretty normal in that way
-
Oh it's no misconception and I ain't talking just about the people on the internet either. Rider fans are completely blind to the rest of the league because most of them jumped on the bandwagon all too recently. Plague on the CFL and the league would be better off without them.

We need to petition the CFL Commish to host LDC

And as if the Pats get to beak about anything anyway, that team has been a compete joke a lot longer than they've been decent. -
I kid you not I had a discussion once upon a time with an otherwise pretty reasonable dude, but he was a rider fan and his entire premise was Nealon Greene is just as good as Khari Jones. I mean don't say that to me when I'm sober let alone into case #2 of the night.

They cheer for the riders, how preposterous is it to label them all morons? Seems like that's tremendous evidence to support the position.
