  1. yeah the Hamilton D gives our offense fits traditionally. Hopefully the D comes out pissed off and angry about last week and generates some good things for the team because they'll need it.
  2. My question though is, what is Edmonton actually going to be like this season? A big part of the struggles vs. Edmonton recently was how many issues this team has hand handling blitzes and no one blitzes as much as Chris Jones does. Are they still going to be the same team without him around?
  3. Move *****! Noeller can probably confirm but I am pretty sure our buddy made that video, of course then most of his stuff got taken down because apparently the bots can't tell the difference between NFL and CFL.
  4. You didn't need to watch it again to know that Dickenson stole Ritchie Halls lunch money though.
  5. It seems like the biggest problem has been miscommunications at bad times. Considering how much turnover there has been perhaps that's not to be unexpected. I mean we got 3/4 of the DL is new, 3/5 of the secondary is new (I know posey was here for a bit last year but I am still calling him new) and one guy coming back from missing the year to injury as well. Linebackers were all here before but you got guys playing new positions. So inconsistencies with the communicating probably should be expected. Same deal on offense, new offensive coordinator, bunch of new receivers, new RB, some changes on the offensive line, but not a lot. Plus Willy is really gunshy and teams won't stop coming after him until the team shows that it can make them pay for doing it so it's an uphill battle there. Still though, after 2 weeks I am more concerned about the defense than the offense. Offense is supposed to start out slowly when there are a bunch of changes.
  6. That's because I felt that Mike Kelly was actively setting the team back with his actions. I never felt that Mack or Walters are doing that even if the losses are there. Both are trying to add to the team and depth rather than moving it in hopes of eeking out an extra meaningless in the long run win. These guys may not be the long term solutions here, but they are improving the depth so I have some patience for them. Still lacking some star power in my mind but considering how the depth had been so poor I got time for em.
  7. What's funny too is I get blasted for being a blind homer for simply saying stuff like Willy was bad in game 1 but he'll get better and then after game 2 saying he wasn't as bad as the masses are saying despite what the score was in the game. In any other place that would be considered optimism but having some truth to it. To many here though? WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD! HEAD IN THE SAND! Some people just want blood and they want to rant and rave and have everyone grab pitchforks and torches alongside them. That's not how most people work though. You can talk about negative things, you can also talk about positive things, the point is to actually have a dialogue. Too often this place devolves into people just trying to scapegoat people and there are a lot of people who just get tired of it. I am a sucker though, I like to argue with people so I'll argue just about anything.
  8. Hell most of what the so called "head in the sand" people are doing is simply disagreeing with the doom and gloomers that the sky is falling trying to provide an alternate view point. There really are very few rah rah Bombers blind homers here. Have you seen Spuds lately? I got no problems with people saying negative things, just don't go all in on the darkness, be reasonable and logical... but most people don't do that. They're pissed off and by god anyone who isn't as pissed off as them is a monster.
  9. completely false, you are spinning it to mean that when it was simply a statement that bad things = more traffic. Totally neutral statement only meant to point out the trend of this message board. You do love your leaps of logic though.
  10. And all I was doing was pointing out the fallacy in thinking that people post more in good times. There are always more threads and more posts when things are going poorly. Nothing more, nothing less. But yet again you have done a lot of mental gymnastics to read something into a post that isn't there. I am willing to talk about anything to do with the Bombers positive or negative, but what I don't like is all the constant hyperbole that gets tossed around after losses.
  11. and yet the biggest game day threads are the ones where the team is losing. People like bitching more than they like talking about the good things.
  12. Is that why he's still stuck on the one Grey Cup win? Which happened to be indoors to boot. Guy is **** outside in the late fall.
  13. That's why you're so angry all the time. The process matters and a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.
  14. He still isn't. God help him if play off games are outside and not inside.
  15. Yeah the special teams are actually playing well for this team. That is the #1 reason I am not ready to rollover on O'Shea yet. He clearly knows how to get his special teamers ready to play, the rest of the team has other issues.
  16. Hamilton is a bad matchup for winnipeg just because of how they play defense.
  17. Riders won 07 on the basis of Dinwiddie making 4 rookie mistakes that Glenn was unlikely to have made given the season he was having. Dinwiddie was always a gambler and with his arm sometime he got burned. Also Charles Roberts ****** the team that day too but I do think Glenn would have overcome that particular issue.
  18. Oh man I totally forgot about week 2. I will go with Andy Fantuz. prove me wrong Bombers, prove me wrong.....
  19. I am trying to provide some balance to the piling on that is going on. I agreed that Willy played a stinker against Montreal, but sitting in the stands in Calgary I felt Willy wasn't the main problem for the offense and then I re-watched the game broadcast yesterday afternoon and came away more impressed with Willy. Go ahead, watch the game again and see if you still throw it all on Willy. Go through it drive by drive and you can see what happened. The first drive was going great until Adams dropped a pass that he had no business dropping. The pass on 2nd down missed Adams and they did the fake field goal. The next drive they went deep to Smith on first down but he was double covered and was never catching the pass anyway because he couldn't shake the coverage, then Harris dropped the pass on 2nd down. The next drive They handed off on first down and the run lost yards, willy was pressured on the throw and Smith went out of bounds on the catch a couple yards short on 2nd down. Then they had the recovery after the blocked kick and just pushed the pile into the endzone for the touchdown. You had one in the first half where Willy completed a pass on first down for about 7 yards but the hand off on 2nd down was stuffed. The second half started off with a handoff that got nothing and then Willy scrambled on 2nd and wound up a couple yards short. The next one was a pass batted down at the line because no one was blocking the lineman and then Harris dropped the 2nd down pass. Next drive Willy was sacked on a blitz and the 2nd down play was a short pass to Harris. So where in all that is Drew Willy the main problem? I see OL problems, I see receiver problems, yes there were some missed throws in there too but Willy wasn't the only guy out there failing to make things happen.
  20. God we need to have a scrimmage sometime on TV just so that Willy can get the same benefit other qbs have gotten. He lights up the Bombers no pressure soft zone D people would proclaim him the best.
  21. They sure were, but so was Johnson and Harris at times. Only guy that I have 100% faith in back there right now is Randle and you can't expect to have a good D when one of the 5 defensive backs is solid.
  22. He only tried like 2 long throws all game, one to Smith who was covered the whole way and another to Davis where it looked to me like there was miscommunication between qb and receiver. Willy threw it deeper and Davis cut his route shorter, was much more obvious from the stands than from the angle the TV had. Other than that he threw everything short or medium and the medium throws he was fine at. Again, Mitchell missed some throws too and he also got some grade A catches out of his receivers that Willy just wasn't getting either. That one handed grab that they marked at the 1 was just ridiculous and there was another touchdown catch that wasn't a great throw but the receiver turned into gold. I can remember like 1 catch from Adams that the receiver really helped out the qb. But then Adams also had at least one blatant drop too. This team is just not good enough consistently to start blaming the qb all the time.
  23. Gross. I thought Fogg was pretty terrible against Calgary.
  24. it was pretty straight forward against Calgary. When they brought pressure with more bodies the coverage was too slack and BLM picked em apart.
