So first of all, the value difference between Eberle and Yakupov is significant AND there is no way that Edmonton gives up one of them AND Nurse and only gets Barrie back who needs a new contract. The Hall and Larsson deal might suck but at least Larsson had a long cheap contract.

It was Walters not O'Shea that put such a poor OL on the field and had no qb depth behind Willy so I don't buy your argument. Our receivers besides the oft injured Moore were pretty terrible last year as well and I am not convinced that we are really any better at that position this year either with Dressler on the shelf.

The problem is that if you fire MOS it's still the ineffectual Kyle Walters at GM. Unless you think we have all sorts of talent and the coaches are simply not getting the best out of it... but me I think this team lacks talent more than it lacks coaching.

Because if Edmonton had anyone like Weber they wouldn't have needed to trade for a defenceman in the first place. Chiarelli got desperate and sold Hall for pennies on the dollar. There are no character issues or salary issues or any of that, simply desperation for a right handed defenceman and paid a premium to gamble on Larsson developing into a guy that might be worth Hall some day. He better turn into that guy though cause Taylor Hall is one of the absolute best 5 on 5 point producers in the NHL, and he's done it on a shitty team with a terrible puck moving blue line backing him up. Just gross that there wasn't even a token plus coming back from the Devils.

Except he missed a bunch of deep throws that could have got field position and kept the offense on the field. People seem to forget that. It's not just the big plays, if you miss a throw on 2nd down you take yourself off the field and who knows what would have happened if you'd got a fresh set of downs. You can play the what if game with every team in every game. Trying to use it to prove anything one way or the other is just playing silly buggers.
