  1. but a lot of that was him knowing he was one slip up away from getting turfed. His veterans were his life preserver and he clutched onto them. Let's not try and kid ourselves here, Dave Ritchie would not have allowed the team to struggle like it did under Daley
  2. Lyle Bauer didn't hire him and Lyle Bauer didn't like him because they were both trying to be the boss. First excuse he got Bauer turfed Ritchie and the rest is history.
  3. so what was the deal with last week? No one got a correct pick so we all go again?
  4. One might start looking at the D corps. With no Trouba the talent falls off pretty hard and fast after the top 3.
  5. Well to be fair they've been mentioning that book since like episode 2 of the season.
  6. if he had a small contract they probably would have just kept him as a backup, but because of the bog contract they wanted to move him and look at that return it netted them. Walters played that one about as well as he could.
  7. well they did get a pretty good haul when trading willy....
  8. Oh man do we dare to dream about having the same guy running the team for nearly a decade? When was the last time that happened? I am less sold on Walters than some but the guy stepped up this season compared to last, let's see how it continues to progress because we've gone through the learning curve with these guys, let's keep them when they're poised to be good quality people.
  9. but what about Chungh? Surely the team has said something about him, anyone hear anything?
  10. Just goes to show how much easier it is to be a Gm when you have a qb like Calvillo
  11. honestly losing posts is OK by me. It's easy to catch up on the usual posting here. Willy sucks Nichols is great **** BC LOL Montreal that sums up most of the talk right now.
  12. Doesn't matter where they play. Gotta win 3 games to be champions and that more than likely involves beating the Stamps so it'd be all the sweeter to kick their asses in Calgary. Just win baby.
  13. Losers all over that picture.
  14. Yeah the problem I have with her character, especially in Luke Cage is that she's too good at everything, really just makes my eyes roll. Oh yeah here's the night nurse to save the day again. You go too far.
  15. Good thing they fixed the OL by putting in 3 americans finally right? Cause you're fooling yourself if you think that hasn't changed the complexion of the team immensely.
  16. yeah cause he's getting hammered like he was here. How come people are so willing to put it all on the qb when the team around him clearly has a ton of issues?
  17. Ray made that OL look bad too, so did Killgore, maybe, just maybe the argos OL sucks too? I mean they got no push on 3rd and short all game. I know it's popular around here to keep shitting on Willy but the guy is getting no time at all.
  18. League should come down hard on them. The TSN monies are a big reason the league is doing well so don't ******* piss them off.
  19. No Eakins did break Yakupov, he broke a bunch of other guys on that team too, only one who didn't see the production fall off a cliff was Hall and a big part of that is because Hall is just a give me the puck and I'll do it all myself if I have to guy anyway. Look the problem with Yakupov wasn't that he was poor defensively or that he didn't work, the problem was he wasn't putting up enough points. Eakins didn't give him a chance though, he stuck him with Boyd Gordon and said produce, well no one does that and then when he made a mistake defensively as young players are known to do he got stapled to the bench. It took a mentally fragile player and made him afraid to do what made him effective offensively. The situation became one where Yakupov felt singled out by the Oilers and he felt he couldn't win so he wanted out. He didn't handle it well but he was treated poorly be Eakins and it made the player less than what he could have been. Not everyone needs the tough love approach. The other thing to consider is that Yakupov had some offensive production with guys like Gagner or Roy or obviously McDavid as his centres but sucked with the Boyd Gordons or Mark Letestus of the world who he often got stuck with in the bottom 6. So he needed to produce to move up but couldn't do that with offensively inept line mates. Hard situation. Moving on is the best situation for him because he wasn't going to get the chances he wanted or needed in Edmonton and Edmonton can fill those bottom 6 roles with actual bottom 6 type players.
  20. It's misdirection. Gonna air it out all day
  21. I honestly think that Jennings is such a gun slinger there will be chances for turn overs. Just gotta have the offense going cause he's probably going to make some plays as well. Keep up and win when the mistake happens. That's what they did on the streak, need to do it now
