Some of you sure have some bizarre expectations. This was a press conference to introduce our new starting QB and you want them to provide an honest answer on whether or not he was their first choice or not?

terrible article, but understandable given it is clear that Wiecek has no clue how the CFL and NFL operate. I miss the days when sports writers actually knew something about what they were writing about.

I just finished reading his tweets.  That guy is a complete moron.  As if you're going to sign a guy that wants to go to the NFL BEFORE he gets a chance to go down.  Hmm...let's see...$600K starting salary or $150K to stay in winter wonderland...HHHMMMM....That's a tough one.
 
And the people that follow him are just as stupid.  One guy said that no one wants to sign here because we have no DC in place.  Umm...didn't we just sign Etch?

Love how Wiecek is trying to pin this as a failure by the Bombers. I'd call him clueless but it may be a complement. The goal of every football player is to try their hand in the NFL.

GCn14 made an interesting point at TEP that the Bombers going back to the West might have played a part in Burris' and Collaros' decisions with respect to it being an "easier" division to get into the play-offs than the West.

What does that have to do with signing Henoc. He's trying out for the NFL. He wouldn't have signed until he exhausted his options.

You didn't say it but you did post the article in this thread that did (the second link in your post about how much the Bombers offered Collaros).
 

How do you know they didn't exceed the cap. The announcement isn't made until late March or April.

Another thing to remember, the League office is closed on the weekend so a contract can't be filed until Monday.

Takes two to make a trade. Maybe he did try but no one bit.

The problem I have when people say they trust what they saw is, generally speaking, people have a tendency to fixate on one play or one game and project it to be a season long problem. You see it countless times especially when people complain about players taking penalties.
