  1. Watched Curb finale last night, it was fantastic. Have to admit getting a bit emotional seeing Richard Lewis in the final scene. Glad that he was given a lot of screen time in the finale and made me burst out laughing several times in his interactions with Larry. Seinfeld also made an appearance and stole the show. They even managed to work in how they should have done the Seinfeld finale, in the second last scene of the show, which was gold. It was good to see Jerry and Larry David together again, if only for a few brief moments.
  2. Not sure if this has been mentioned before but tonight is the SERIES finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry is going on trial in Atlanta for giving Leon's aunt water while she was in line to vote. I predict a Seinfeldian series end in which people from all across the history of the show come in to testify either for or against Larry. Also will be good but very sad to see probably the last ever screen time for Richard Lewis, as he is in the episode.
  3. wish I was still in a playoff pool here in Kelowna as every year all the Canuckle-heads take Canucks in the first two rounds while I take the team playing against them and usually clean up...

  8. One more post about Joe....now I'm done. 🥲 RIP Joe.
  9. I was shocked when I found out Joe was American too....he always seemed so "Canadian" in so many ways...in this interview (from 1982) on Letterman he discusses how he ended up in Toronto and meeting this kooky gang of Canadians.... Edmonton sure takes a beating in this interview too which is hilarious. I like how John Candy is smoking during the interview, classic 1980's. Historical context - at this time John Candy was in a war with SCTV producers because they weren't paying the actors very much and were very cheap, and Candy was pretty bitter about it. The character "Guy Caballero" was actually a parody of the main producer and was created out of an act of defiance by the SCTV cast. It was actually sad to hear how a show so good and so funny and so Canadian was enduring all kinds of animosity and turmoil behind the scenes.

  17. Here's what I find amazing - that 11 years after the 1950 Grey Cup telecast, and the technology over 11 years of broadcasting hadn't really advanced. What the heck???
