  1. Stefan LeFors? yeah don't they realize that the male Rider fans enjoy bringing their cousin-wives to games? Why mess with that grand tradition with this stupid message. Oh well. Looks bad on the Riders as everything else seems to.
  2. I was always Joe Poplawski. He's still one of my favorite all time Bombers.

  5. The Alouettes’ 48-13 destruction of the Bombers proved if there was any lingering doubt about the former’s vulnerability, it was premature at best. Meanwhile, it was a stark reminder of just how bad the Bombers, now 7-10 in a wildly uneven season, can be on any given Sunday. And that doesn’t just include the offence — or the players, either. Because no sooner had the stinkage settled than Winnipeg rookie head coach Mike Kelly decided it would be the perfect time to remind all those fans he’s alienated during his rocky tenure why they’re not buying tickets anymore — and proceed to tear into Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Irving on CJOB’s post-game show. Kelly was apparently angered by the attempts of Irving and colour man Mitch Zalnasky to explain why the Bombers could be so flat and ineffective. Perhaps they were looking ahead to the Nov. 8 regular-season finale death-match with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. “I’m tellin’ ya, we were focused in on this game and that’s the only thing we were focused in on,” Kelly snapped. “It’s just media bullshit talking about anything else.” When Irving mildly protested, “it just didn’t look like you were focused, I’m not saying you weren’t focused,” a peeved Kelly spat: “Don’t tell me we were or were not focused. This team came out and played. Period.” Then Kelly hung up. Irving was speechless. Talk about getting your panties in a ball. Irving called Kelly’s tirade “juvenile” and “rude” and perhaps the worst interview he’s had in almost four decades on the air. Kelly reverts to vulgar self – Winnipeg Free Press

  7. in 1979-80 everyone was buying gold. No one could conceptualize that a piece of cardboard with a picture on it would be worth more than their weight in gold over 40 years later.
  8. I have vivid memories of throwing darts at Gretzky rookie cards. All of the Oilers. We hated them so much...
  9. Thanks for posting. Interesting that no team was really interested in signing him. I guess they feel he's just too injury-prone now. Saddened to hear (at the 9 minute mark) that he was thinking of playing in Sask but with Yoshi there I guess it would have made it somewhat tolerable. I like the interviewer's comment "They don't like nobody there" lol....
  10. That was the focus of the last season of the Rock's show on HBO. Watching Calgary going through now what we went through 20 years ago. Amazing how teams cycle through history, never seeming to learn anything from others or past mistakes. Calgary needs a new facility, so bad.
  11. wish I had a time machine to go back in time and buy up 10 boxes of cards....though an investment in NVIDIA would probably have been even more lucrative...who knows...
  12. he's got to understand the next relegation is to the Nic Petan world.
  13. I see Iafallo as a grinder that we're going to really see show his worth in the playoffs.
  14. They'd never think to add a functioning indoor bathroom.
  15. So it's settled, Austin Matthews in for Damian Jackson this year as the import FB we don't want or need. He should be available after the first round of playoffs....again....so just in time for training camp....
  16. around the 6:30 mark I had to stop and go get the hanky. Wow....you hear about how much the fans and the organization are loved by the players, and vice versa obviously, but when you hear it spoken in such a heartfelt manner, it really hits home. How often do you hear players in leagues like the NBA or NHL talk like this? Not very often. They're in a city, get their paycheque, maybe win a Cup or two, and they are off to the next place in free agency, see ya later. Amazing.
