  1. That was the first time I said all game "I think we can win this one!"
  2. way cheaper to watch live games in Buffalo than in Toronto.
  3. Thankfully he stunk when it mattered in 1988.
  4. Had to do a double-take at 36:44 when I saw an old familiar face on the sidelines standing beside Urban Bowman. He must have been "handling things internally" during this game lol...
  5. Dunigan and Collaros had/have the same problem - they never play their best in Grey Cup games.... Man did we have a great defense in 1992...
  6. at one point in the game Don talks to John Wells about how the day before John had done the broadcast of the national Junior football championship game (I think the Regina Rams were the victors) on CBC and I was thinking - "wow, the CBC used to broadcast games like that...what happened?"
  7. Often imitated, never duplicated...
  8. new Jets goal celebration, just for when we play the Canucks:
  9. I know that I was at this game: I remember how cold it was up in the upper East side stands that day, but then the sun came out and warmed us up. Interesting to see that Terry Evanshen was the color guy. In 1988 he was in a serious car accident and it wiped out his entire memory of his life, prior to the crash.
  10. you're 40 years too late with that advice...lol...not sure how else you handle being a life long fan of our two sports teams in Winnipeg....
  11. Nic Petan scores the Stanley-Cup winning goal in OT of game 7 against VGK, assisted by Trouba and Roslovic....wouldn't that be something.
  12. LOL I was shocked when I saw Fred Biletnikoff on the field for Montreal, I forgot that he came out of retirement in 1980.
  13. I've decided to watch old Bomber games wherever I can find them, as the off season continues to wear on me and I long for football. Here's my first contribution: EDIT: I am pretty sure I was at this game, as a young man, as my dad was a season ticketholder in 1980 and I was able to go to most of the games with him. The 1980 Bombers will forever be one of my favorite teams of all time.
  14. just another video where I have to go....what were they thinking/doing back in the 70's?
  15. https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/wicked-tuna-star-charlie-griffin-dead-after-boating-accident/ https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/espns-chris-mortensenn-dead-at-age-72/
  16. Cool guitar, especially for that time/era.
  17. Got this book for my birthday back in 1979 or 1980. I couldn't put it down, was one of my most prized possessions in my childhood years.
  18. Addendum to the Sea Phrase: "Winnipeg Jets will be flu bug free"
  19. I thought I remembered that they pulled a DL to play guard and Oost came in to play on the D line....ineffectively rushing and easily being blocked. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/calvillo-leads-charge-as-montreal-romps/article18167432/ Mike Quinn, another failed Winnipeg QB.
  20. yes still remember how we'd start Matt Sheridan and three plays in he'd be lying on the field grasping his leg/groin/whatever and be out of the game already, and I'd just be like "can't we find someone who doesn't get hurt every game to play on the OL?"
