  1. Also - I am glad that the organization handled it this way, and gave Paul the option to resign. It is hard when you hold someone in such high esteem, and I always hate seeing coaches fired mid season, like Mack did to LaPo. I would hope that if the situation ever came where it was time for MOS to leave (argh I hate that I even wrote that) that it would be handled in a similar fashion. Just my two cents.
  2. Huddy should be following him out the door as well. Thanks Paul for all you did for us. Time to move on to the next adventure.
  3. Re-watching the game again, now that I can fully calm down knowing that we win - a lot has been said about the Ti-Cats taking a knee on the kick-off to make it 25-22, but what about the mental error on the previous kickoff after the Demski TD, where the Ti-Cat player tries to bat the ball out of the air (and unsuccessfully hits it as it goes by him) and then it sails through the end zone. If that player had been coached properly by his special teams coach Reinebold (lol) he would have let that ball sail through the end zone untouched, which according to CFL rules, would not have resulted in a rouge. As much as the knee to make it 25-22 was important, it wouldn't have been as big a deal had the Hamilton player not touched the ball on the previous kick-off before it went through the end zone. Mental errors. As I said previously, it's amazing to me how these games always boil down to a few important plays, that either make the difference due to superior human effort or mental error. Finally, due to an over-riding amount of talent and coaching, the Bombers, after being on the short-end of the stick for so long, are finally winning those battles on the important plays that make the difference. You can't tell me if the roles were reversed, that Janarion Grant, sitting back waiting for the kickoff with a strong wind in his face, would have touched the football before it went out of touch in a game that close. He would have been told by the coaches to let it go through the end zone without conceding a point. Because that's what good coaching in that situation would have advised, and Hamilton, in that situation, did not have good coaching. Thankfully, that's what we have. FINALLY. We out-coached Hamilton in every phase of the game. So great to see after so many years of other teams out-coaching us.
  4. Yes, and let's also remember that it prevented a Rider Grey Cup victory, which we all know is worth its weight in gold!
  5. Buck gave McGuire a pretty crappy play list to choose from too. I'd like to see what McGuire can do with all the top horses on the field. If he craps the bed with the best O line and receivers and a full playbook then yeah, time to pull the plug.
  6. Yes, in hindsight I regret bashing Paul Friesen for lamenting publicly back in the Mack era that Winnipeg had no Winnipeg-born players. In hindsight, and I find this extremely difficult to say, he may have been right about that....argh...ack...I just threw up in my mouth... Those Tiger-Cars sure were a lot tougher opponents than the Tiger-Cats were in 2019...
  7. Wow we get 5 pre-season games next year...amazing!
  8. This is why players run through walls for this guy. Imagine Belichick or Andy Reid doing this after a Superbowl celebration?
  9. I was at a gym yesterday where some Sun players work out and I asked one of them if MOS Jr. is coming back to the Sun next year and he said that he "hoped so", given what a good player he is. I said that I thought that I heard that MOS Jr. was going to Guelph, and he said that that was in the past, and that MOS Jr. "wasn't exactly an academic guy" lol. At the very least he said he hoped MOS Jr. would come back to the Sun in a coaching capacity, as he seems to have the same gift of motivating players that his dad has. So there's the update.
  10. That was Roadgriller. Named himself after Matt Dunigan's TV show.
  11. Robert Bean's wife was on here for awhile too, until we started trashing him, and then she got pretty nasty.
  12. What was his handle, Nasty Nate? LOL
  13. according to a certain former Winnipeg sports writer I've come to know here in Kelowna, they get some of their best stuff from this site...lol...I still remember when Jabari Arthur was labeled "the Factor" on Our Bombers, (can't even remember why he got that name) and suddenly I'm hearing Mitch on CJOB referring to him as "The Factor". They definitely read this site.
  14. I believe that our QB at the time was Justin Goltz. There were no smart decisions with that guy. He couldn't throw a football to save his life.
  15. 2015 was so bad that I barely remember that season. I do know that things were really looking up on the non-import receivers with the addition of Addison Richards that year. No one could compete with that hair!
  16. So I assume that this is "full-chub" material? LOL
  17. Before every down, Duke runs up and down the DL poking them all in the eye...
  18. Is anyone from MBB going? Stupid question I know...
  19. Here you go Johnny: Does that make you feel better? Pain lingers for Hamilton Tiger-Cats after overtime loss to Winnipeg in Grey Cup (msn.com)
  20. If they did that there's a chance I might actually go there lol...
  21. I still have O'Shea's first game ever coaching for the Bombers in 2014 on my PVR, and I still fire it up once in awhile. We kicked Toronto's butt in that game, and though we'd have a terrible season after Willy got destroyed, that game just felt different. The abject despair was gone, replaced by a feeling that we were actually starting to build on something. O'Shea had a pretty big learning curve and made a lot of mistakes, but you could feel the underlying culture shift. We were starting to believe in ourselves again. A feeling I hadn't felt in a long long time.
  22. we were able to get CKND on our rabbit ears on the TV, but we also weren't that far away from Winnipeg. The only reasons to watch CKND in 1980 was Fantasy Island on Saturday night and also CKND had the broadcast rights to the Jets in their first year in the NHL. Brian Swain doing the play by play and Pit Martin on colour.
  23. In my 45 years of following the Bombers, there was only one period in their history where I checked out completely, and that was the Reinebold years. I also was living in a foreign country and the internet was in its infancy at the time so it made it pretty easy to not pay attention to the Bombers. I moved back a few months before Reinebold was fired so I was able to pick up the Bomber following again in the late 1990's and of course ride those few great Khari-Milt years.
