Honestly I get the decision not to televise all CFL preseason games. It's just freaks like us that care to watch it. 

Its about getting more people in seats to come see the music act, and hoping a percentage of them will enjoy the football and game enough to come back for more.
You complain about the CFL and TSN not doing enough to attract new fans and grow the game.  Here is BC trying something to grow their fan base and bring in people who wouldn't normally come to a football game, but that apparently is also problematic.  🤷

The problem that BC has doing this celebrity stuff opening game is what do you do for the second game....third....fourth???

No surprise there either. Wasn't a particularly good RB.

Not shocked....He showed...again in that pre-season game he can run around....but if needed to move a offence up and down a field...he just doesnt have it

Which is sadly a huge step up

My week preseason week 1 observations:
The Riders 1st string is better than our 2nd string.
The Stamps 1st string is way better than BC's 2nd string. 
Edmonton can still greatly outplay their opponents only to give the game away via turn overs.
Hammy can still outplay their opponents only to give the game away via penalties. 
All radio guys are homers & the Riders have the worst radio play by play by far. 
Berrière can play like a derrière and get cut even though we waited 4 years for him.
Montreal's 3rd string QB, Alexander, looked more ready to start than Arbuckle or Brown. 
Toronto has a QB problem.
Not blitzing in preseason is a thing of the past. 
The punt halo is still somewhere between 3 & 7 yards. 
Offensive offside is still between 1 and 3 yards.

Lawler is taking a pay cut even if he puts up 2000 yards this year

Cmon cut some guys so we can all complain about who they cut. 

I think they should expand the rookie camp to 7-10 days and expand the roster size by 20 for that.  Have a significant cut down when vets report and then have a cut down between the two exhibition games.

This is why I miss 4 pre season games. Vets & rooks would see more reps in practice & games. 

I think Barriere is in the mushy middle with like 100 other QB's who come out every year or so.
Yeah he has some highlights.  He played for a school that is a powerhouse.  But they had some pretty bad playoff losses when they played actual competition in his time.
They run a spread with a lot of RPO stuff...so he's reading off a playaction and then it's one read BOOM pass out to a screen or a flat or a slant.  Not a whole lot of hit this window from the pocket or throw through zones.
Doesn't look like he has the arm to play at this level IMO.  Could you build an offense around him?  Probably not, he's gotta be able to beat people by making tough throws in that 10-20 yard area.  That's how you win in this league.  NFL now too.  So we see these guys who run the spread stuff or some gunslinger types with big arms (Dolegala is a recent example) come in and really struggle to be consistent because they can't make those throws accurately and on time.

Albert Johnson was no slouch either...and put up solid reciever numbers one yr as well I recall

Exactly...if u all gaga over just the Canadian aspect support your USport...junior or amateur leagues
Best players should play within the ratio requirements...regardless of birth.
anything less doesn't cut it..and truthfully we already have to accept lesser talent with ratio as it is...that's a fact...too bad a lot don't grasp that

As do I. I wish Brown well but I think he may turn into this year's Nick Arbuckle. Ottawa is desprate for a legit CFL starting qb. They'll throw money to any player tnhey think can become one. 

Gotta think they will be making some cuts this weekend to narrow the battles down and give the guys a real shot in the 2nd preseason game.
Hard to really prep guys to play a game when there's 5 full sets of guys getting reps.

People fail to realize that when this regime started...it was a mess...and Miller grabbed the whole pile of steaming crap by the collar..and said from this moment on this is what we are gonna be...this is how we are going to do things..and this is what we will be about....MOS came into his interview and was sure asked his philosophy etc...but was also asked can you do what we are wanting...same with Walter's....and they liked what they saw and decided to give a young guy his chance...it wasn't the other way around...and truth be told I'd be more worried if Miller and Walter's were to walk away than Osh...we'd be just fine with a new coach as this regime wouldn't insert a buffoon...this highly respected coach had one foot out of door...and likely would have been gone if not for upper management suggesting to him to make a few changes before our run..which he smartly did but took long enough doing it..this turn around was a team effort...but it started at the top and was filtered down...it's comical to think many think it was a bottom up thing...but understandable when very few here have ever been in the room and or had dealings with management and how teams...successful teams where people have to answer to someone operate...just look at what happens when they don't...Hi there Chris Jones for example...I shudder to think if Osh was given 100 percent control of everything. 

I’m just going to say that I generally appreciate everyone’s perspectives and always encourage good back and forth.
That said, I’m going to ask we keep the discussion on football and not each other.  It does nothing to further the conversation.
