As always... read it in a gloomy Eeyore voice. West: Calgary - Won't win as many as last year. BLM is still the difference maker. They are the best until proven otherwise. BC - Reilly will make a huge difference to a team that just missed last year. The defence will take some time to come together. Win or lose the games will be 36-38. Winnipeg - Losing 3 NI all stars will hurt worse than most think. Nichols doesn't get back to his level of play from 2 years ago. Edmonton - Did a good job of reloading in the off season, but Reilly is a huge loss. Riders - Worst QB in the west behind a make shift OL without Jones' defence to bail them out. East: Hamilton - Lost their OC late in the offseason, but had a replacement in house. Can't see any other eastern team coming close. Ottawa - Lost a ton of good players, but are in the right division. Toronto - Will have QB problems all year long, but they're good enough to stay out of the basement. Montreal - Made some good moves, but not enough to get them out of the basement. WSF - BC beats Winnipeg. Reilly breaks our hearts yet again. WF - Calgary beats BC in a high scoring affair. ESF - Ottawa beats Edmonton. EF - Hamilton beats Ottawa Grey Cup - Hamilton beats Calgary MOP - Masoli MOC - Harris

Fair enough. In any case, they chose Miller and Rush over Simonise.
-
The CFL can only deal with folks who want to buy the club. They don't get to choose them. Quite frankly, I don't know why anyone would want to buy the Als who have been losing money, fans, and most games for years.

I took the statement to mean he was the 4th NI receiver, so ranked behind Woli, Demski and Peterman. I see Oliveira as Harris' backup and a FB, not both on the field at the same time. Augustine is on the PR. FB's show MIller and Rush. What I was trying to say was they could have chosen Simonise over Miller if wanted to.
-
Walters said Simonise was the 4th NI receiver (FTR: I don't see the need for 2 FB's, so they could have kept him if they really wanted to). They offered him a PR spot, but he turned it down. As he signed with BC already, sound like it was the right choice for him.

20 and everyone is still on the same page.

I don't think any of the media liked Sherman, otherwise they wouldn't be taking turns throwing him under the bus.

Hedging your bets means playing both sides or supporting more than 1 possible outcome. Seeing McGuire as the most likely to succeed isn't hedging your bets.
-
Not when it comes to answering the question 'How well does Walters Draft'?
-
Walters gets props for his first 2 drafts, but he's been more miss than hit since then. Waggoner and Faith were #2 and #1 overall busts. Simonise was our top pick in 2018.
-
I don't understand how cutting Bennett is hedging their bets.
-
Simonise really looks like a football player, but looking like Tarzan and playing like Jane will get you cut.
-
They said that on the broadcast last night. Surprised the heck out of me. Adding global's while taking away QB's doesn't make any sense to me.
-
Plus NI QB's are considered NI's IF they start.
-
So you're saying 2 out of 3 ain't bad?

NFL Coming to Winnipeg for Preseason Game
TBURGESS replied to JCon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Using the same supposed 'logic' no one wants to hear continually why anyone wants to go. End of discussion before it begins. -
I wouldn't make Coombs an offer. We simply don't need him and it seems like he's been injured his whole career.

NFL Coming to Winnipeg for Preseason Game
TBURGESS replied to JCon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
More money than I'd pay for a preseason game and I doubt it will be a sell out in Winnipeg at those prices. Hope they sell enough to make a profit. -
GDT Pre-season Game 2 - Bombers @ Riders
TBURGESS replied to BBlink's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
On that other site, someone's saying that MOS said he wouldn't be available till week 3. -
Has Neufeld even practised yet? Anyone know what's wrong with him?
-
Lots of blitzing last night too. It used to be considered bad form, but teams have been blitzing in preseason for years now.

GDT Pre-season Game 1 - Edmonton at Bombers
TBURGESS replied to Floyd's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I don't see anyone giving up on Streveler. I see the Nichols guys pointing out that Streveler didn't play well cuz it works for their argument that we need to start Nichols. -
GDT Pre-season Game 1 - Edmonton at Bombers
TBURGESS replied to Floyd's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm a big Streveler fan, but he didn't have a good outing last night. I was surprised they didn't give him more reps later on.
