  1. Elgersma throws a great ball, but as I expected, the game is too fast for him, and he made some ill-advised throws. Tim White was great. Did everything they asked for and more. The O-line protected well but didn't open up any running lanes. Two pick-sixes off of backup QBs should have been the story of the game, but the 3rd stringers let it get away. Looked like a lovely day at the ball park, way better than that eastern rain bowl. Football is back!
  2. Which QB's would you trade for Collaros straight up?
  3. First new rule shows up... no points on a punt that goes outta bounds in the endzone.
  4. As I sit here in Calgary, watching the snow fall... I wonder if moving the season forward is the right decision.
  5. It's back to being painfully slow.
  6. Then they shouldn't say advertising and gambling revenue
  7. How does the CFL get gambling revenue?
  8. When was the last time you saw major changes changed back? The US expansion when all but 1 team bascally folded and the other got an NFL team? That's not the same thing at all.
  9. You're right, 4 games to eliminate 2 teams.
  10. In the current system you might play the same team 3 times in the regular season, 1 in the preseason, and 1 in the playoffs. Now it could be 2 in the playoffs. That's exacerbating an already bad situation. An 18-game season to eliminate 1 team is dumber than an 18-game season to eliminate 3 teams. Round 1 doesn't eliminate any teams. Think of it as an extra regular-season game, because playoff games should always be win or go home. Teams 1-6 get a home playoff game either in the first round or the 2nd. Teams 7-8 get an away game. Team 9 is a goner.
  11. It was so slow last night that I gave up.
  12. At 6'5" he might be a good idea for the short yardage QB.
  13. He's going to get the same CFL contract no matter how long he waits.
  14. Likely it's because of how much Collaros is making.
  15. I asked Gemini what % of Canadian QB's became starters in the last 20 years in the CFL... 1.98%.
  16. What a silly thing to say. Of course it matters what team players play on. You seem to want to blame ABC (Anyone But Collaros) for his last 2 years and then make up things to match your story. No offensive lineman threw balls to the wrong team.
  17. Collaros may be old and bad, but he makes up for it by being expensive.
  18. You think that Collaros would have lasted better in Ottawa than Brown did or that Brown would have been injured as often running our offence behind our O-line? That's why arguments based on conjecture are so stupid. There is no way to prove them either way. Just flapping your 'internet' lips again.
  19. https://3downnation.com/2026/03/22/all-nine-2026-cfl-quarterback-rooms-ranked/ 1) Hamilton Tiger-Cats Starter: Bo Levi Mitchell Depth: Tre Ford, Jake Dolegala 2) Toronto Argonauts Starter: Chad Kelly Depth: Nick Arbuckle, Jarret Doege, Max Duggan, Tucker Horn 3) Montreal Alouettes Starter: Davis Alexander Depth: Dustin Crum, E.J. Perry, Dresser Winn, Anthony Brown Jr. 4) B.C. Walker, Josh Love, Quincy Vaughn 9) Winnipeg Blue Bombers Starter: Zach Collaros Depth: Terry Wilson, Bryce Perkins, Payton Thorne
  20. I'd take Dru over Collaros at that price, and it wouldn't be a hard decision.
  21. Nathan Rourke, B.C. Lions (N) Hard money: $624,200 Maximum value: $624,200 Chad Kelly, Toronto Argonauts (A) Hard money: $615,000 Maximum value: $615,000 Zach Collaros, Winnipeg Blue Bombers (A) Hard money: $600,000 Maximum value: $600,000 Vernon Adams Jr., Calgary Stampeders (A) Hard money: $465,000 Maximum value: $465,000 Trevor Harris, Saskatchewan Roughriders (A) Hard money: $399,700 Maximum value: $453,700 Dru Brown, Ottawa Redblacks (A) Hard money: $354,700 Maximum value: $390,700 Bo Levi Mitchell, Hamilton Tiger-Cats (A) Hard money: $323,800 Maximum value: $374,800 Davis Alexander, Montreal Alouettes (A) Hard money: $258,000 Maximum value: $336,000 Tre Ford, Edmonton Elks (N) Hard money: $257,000 Maximum value: $367,000 Cody Fajardo, Edmonton Elks (A) Hard money: $180,000 Maximum value: $262,000 Tells the same story. Takes longer to source.
  22. Hard money or total contract. It doesn't matter. Both tell the same story. Money is the discussion. What is inconsequential is who could take his place, but Adams and Faj-JJ were both available in 2025, would have cost half the money, and played significantly better. This year the pickings are slim, but that doesn't mean that Collaros is being paid properly.
  23. Picking players who may or may not have signed with us is pretty much the definition of a baseless argument. There is not and cannot be any evidence to base that argument on. The basis of the argument that we paid him too much is the way he played last year. It's the amount that other teams paid their QBs, many of whom were better than Collaros last year. It's that no other team would have paid him as much and that no other team would have resigned him for this year before seeing how he played for at least half a season last year. IMO Arbuckle and Ford were the only 2 starting QB's who were worse than Collaros last year, & Edmonton replaced Ford halfway through the season. You might want to add Dru Brown to the list, but that's mostly due to injury. Here is the ranking of the top 9 highest-paid CFL quarterbacks for 2025 based on hard money: Nathan Rourke – B.C. Lions – $624,200 Chad Kelly – Toronto Argonauts – $615,000 Zach Collaros – Winnipeg Blue Bombers – $600,000 Vernon Adams Jr. – Calgary Stampeders – $339,450 Trevor Harris – Saskatchewan Roughriders – $299,781 Dru Brown – Ottawa Redblacks – $259,931 Bo Levi Mitchell – Hamilton Tiger-Cats – $236,374 Davis Alexander – Montreal Alouettes – $188,340 Tre Ford – Edmonton Elks – $187,610 How can you possibly say that Collaros was paid appropriately?
  24. I didn't say every player is overpaid. I said Collaros is overpaid. Rourke is the face of the league and its best QB. He should be the highest-paid player. Of course, we're not talking about Rourke. You're just bringing him up to try to change from the Collaros was obviously overpaid conversation that we are having. Offering Collaros as much as we did was a mistake. Full stop. You and others are trying to justify the obvious mistake.
