  1. Not spreading further from those 5 communities. We are not hearing high case numbers, so hopefully that is a good sign. The hospitalizations are a concern.
  2. I actually know someone who was on hydrochlorique for several months (lupus). 1. “I've been on hydroxychroquine and it's a nasty drug. I had to be weaned off it over a few months period of time.” 2. “ I was alarmed when she said its supposed to be an over the counter drug, in that video.” 3. “ I had to increase my prescription glasses every 6 months and had to get blood tests done every month to see if the drug effects my liver.”
  3. Has anyone else seen the video that all the major social media platforms keep removing? What a crock of **** A group of people claiming to be doctors telling us that hydrochlorique (sp) works for treating Covid 19. All we have to do is take it, and everything will be over in 30 days. No evidence, no data, not even one visual. The BLM heckler at the end is the highlight.
  4. I wasn’t about to PM 20 different people. Cheers.
  5. The N word was mentioned once - then it spiralled out of control.
  6. I’d guess if it’s a choice between reusing an N95 or using a lower quality mask, people will consider it to be worth the risk. I got a comfortable cloth mask from CBS, no problem wearing it at all.
  7. At 104, the odds were better than average.
  8. It’s a big problem when leaders do and say this kind of stuff. There are always people looking for excuses to not take the virus seriously, and this is exactly what they want to hear.
  9. Labatte is also part of highly successful, multi-generational farm family.
  10. And I have no problem being honest about that. There are a total of 5 colonies infected, 3 of which took immediate action and kept the virus contained to 1 or 2 individuals. Fingers crossed that everyone can recover in the two more seriously infected communities. The symptoms we are hearing about show just how dangerous and unpredictable this virus is. Some had a stomach flu that lasted for about a week. Others described a horrible flu, where for a couple of days you wondered if you would pull through. Others got tested due to contact tracing, tested positive, but were asymptomatic.
  11. You are absolutely exhausting. We followed the public health orders just like everyone else did, it was a few exceptions that messed up. We ate at home, we did not eat or worship communally until the public orders said we could. Our school was closed, other than Highschool, which was already a remote learning format. I am tired of your blanket statements - this is my final response - so you may as well stop baiting me.
  12. Around 120. I was referring to colonies with cases and/or those who have had contact with them. And those of us who had no contact, but are locking down voluntarily.
  13. Tight as a drum, according to what I have been hearing. One colony is having a funeral where only members of that colony will be able to attend. Tough call to make, but at the same time really a no brainer.
  14. It is discriminatory because it leads to stigmatization. There are 3 Hutterite colonies with Covid 19 cases in Manitoba, but some people act like there’s 100 colonies infected. I’ll probably only experience it online, as we have no reasons for essential travel and will be staying home.
  15. Of course it’s a fact. But in MB, for all other groups, only the health region is mentioned - that is also a plain fact.
  16. We are safe so far - we’re locked down for two weeks and have had no contact with people who tested positive. But some of the cases have become very serious. Some people describe it as “there were a couple of days where I didn’t what to live.” I hope the number of people who are taking this seriously - is rising exponentially. It’s time to stop the silliness and the conspiracy theories.
  17. What meant was, there are Hutterites who don’t want to get tested, because if they’re positive it will be announced as another Hutterite case. Perception is 9/10s of reality.
  18. The way this is being reported is discouraging people from getting tested. The government needs to clue in at some point. In other news, cases remain confined to 3 colonies.
  19. Eider know about that.
  20. That is how I see it as well. I understood the original intent and the point being made, but it spiralled out of control soon afterwards.
  21. All references to a racial slur have been removed. Please do not use the slur or anything related to it again. Any continuation of this usage or anything related to it - will result in an immediate suspension.
  22. She also a top notch reporter and researcher. She finds out who the primary source is, and that is the first person she interviews. I am good friends with the people she mentions in the article.
  23. True. Mostly from those who know very little about us - nor do they really care to find out.
  24. You seriously believe Hutterites are not being criticized over this? I mean, maybe not so much from the media, but we are hearing it with intensity from the general population. One example: We got a call from Shopper's Drugmart just today. Several of our members had prescriptions to pick up, and they wanted just one person to come pick them up. Which is hilarious, because that's what usually happens anyway. In another colony, someone's dentist appointment was cancelled, just because they're a Hutterite - no positive cases in their community. There's been other harsher stuff that I'd rather not mention.
  25. I’m not hard done by, not at all. 20 of 29 cases in MB are Hutterite, as we speak. I’m just not sure how you arrived at the conclusion that we get a ‘free pass’ from MBB. I was critical of my own people right from the start, and you will see that if you look back. You have cited examples of foolish actions, and I agree with that. The good news is, those cases are confined to 3 colonies and they are in complete lockdown. But that’s MB in the past week, that’s not all across the prairies. SK has a significant number of new cases in the north, spread from an oilfield outbreak to indigenous commuters. That’s the the part I had a problem with.
