Indeed O'Shea's comments during the Etcheverry departure news conf suggest Drew Willy will be on a short leash.Huh? I assume you're joking.Me too.. I have a very hard time believing that we are even remotely considering moving on from Willy or short leashing the guy..And the fact that I watched the entire press conference and O'Shea didn't allude to Willy being on a short leash at all. What O'Shea said between 5 mins 30 and 6 mins 20 in that news conf is hardly a ringing endorsement of Bellefueille or Drew Willy. I just re-watched that part and I don't see how that could be interpteted as Willy being on a short leash. "I think the biggest issue is trying to find a defensive coordinator and how that affects the other staff members" "We started something with Drew Willy" "To be fair to Drew, if you keep changing coordinators on a quarterback, you can set him back" "We found a good young quarterback" "It's my preference to keep going" Seems pretty clear to me. Drew is obviously in the doghouse.

There's a lot of talent in the WWE right now but Vince McMahon won't get out of his own way. It's hard to even determine the quality of writers they have for Monday Night Raw right now because by all accounts, Vince basically does their job for them. I don't watch Raw beyond some casual interest I may have ... I'll keep the channel on if Rollins, Ambrose or a handful of others are on the screen. But I've watched the NXT product and not only is the talent a collection of some of the best in the world (KENTA, Devitt, Steen, Generico, Pac ... that's enough right there to catch my interest) but the writing and production is incredibly on point as well.

you sure about that? seems like a heavy favorite to me.

Can you imagine the change in philosophy if we hired Claybrooks? He turned Shawn Lemon into a viable pass rusher for god sakes.

Very interested to see how this unfolds.

Is that 46% TDs or just scoring in general?... I hope the former Touchdowns. RZ percentage isn't broken out very specific, it's basically touchdowns or everything else.
-
Bombers were 46% in the red zone this year, 7th in the league but there's like 4 or 5 teams all clumped together within a couple percentage points. Hamilton and Ottawa were markedly the weakest RZ offenses all year.

Played with Maurice in Toronto and Carolina, no doubt this is the guy Maurice wanted -
Shudders. Posts like this make me wonder if some folks just will never be happy around here.

I love seeing Kane troll the **** out of trigger happy media and fans. It's hilarious.

The play calling frustrated me at times. The schemes needed work. But to be quite honest, swap out Bryant for a competent receiver, Grigsby for Cotton and even a minor upgrade on the offensive line and I think this offense can be successful.

You're right. They should hire Doublezero.

I think it's funny that the media is latching onto those comments about player personnel as if we have a gang of misfits running around out there that the new coordinator is going to have to "deal with"

Just in case anyone was curious, there was a meeting in Winnipeg recently that Devone Claybrooks attended.

My friend was telling me a story the other day when he took a trip to watch the Chiefs play. Their van stopped at Walmart in Rockford and I guess somehow they got on the topic of Canada with the checkout lady. She said to them "hey that's cool, I used to live in Canada!" and when they asked where ... she said ... "North Dakota!"

Hmmm ... so Benevides still an option too, eh? Interesting.

Nowhere near enough credit for a guy like Bucknor ... he played great for us last year. Great? No let's not get delusional here. He was adequate. You bring the guy back for sure but let's not pretend the team wouldn't have continued along just fine without him. For a Canadian on the corner, he was great. Would we be worse off if he left? Yes.
-
Of the three ... I think I'd want Claybrooks, Hall or Miles in that order. Claybrooks really intrigues me because if O'Shea wanted Stubler last year, he's probably going to be interested in the guy's understudy. That being said, a lot of talk floating around that Claybrooks is pretty set on staying in Calgary. If I was a betting man, I'd say we end up with Hall.

Well then. -
Didnt you say you would retain him if you were the Bombers? I probably would have. But there were valid arguments on either side of the fence. I'm just happy I don't have to hear about it anymore.
