  1. Current showdown is Trouba vs Jones http://www.tsn.ca/franchisefaceoff/
  2. Deadline for your picks is before the start of the Bomber name tomorrow. Picks can be made here: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=5&wid=50 Leaderboard can be viewed here: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=leaderboard&pid=5&wid=49 bearpants, kelownabomberfan, and KptKrunch all had a stellar week last week going 3 for 4! Noeller is still in the lead with 6 correct overall, but a bunch of people with 5 nipping at his heels.
  3. The new salaries don't kick in until next year. Old contracts this year.
  4. Smart move locking up their two superstars or are they handcuffing themselves against the cap for the first half of these contracts until the cap goes up enough?
  5. as much as i'd hate it, i could see him in Hamilsmell if the TiCats flounder and Austin goes. Except he is still under contract here. Best case scenario, is he continues on the same trajectory he has started on, brings Winnipeg its first Grey Cup in 20+ years, is given the keys to the city, streets named after him and hailed as a football god here. As O'Shea bonds to the city, the players, and what he is building here, he doesn't strike me as the type to just leave that to go home unless something goes horribly wrong. Worst case scenario is he flames out and gets uncerimoniously fired. I don't think this is the direction we are trending. With the current head office the Bombers have, I would bet on Austin being fired before O'Shea. he and his wife and all of their roots are from here. he'll be back. I don't doubt he will be back one day, don't think it will be in time to replace Austin.

  7. http://cfl.ca/roster/show/id/4931 5 defensive tackles in 2 games is pretty good so far this year. I can see him continue to get snaps as part of the regular rotation on D. He hasn't looked out of place.
  8. It isn't a horrible game plan if they could have actually got to Burris. Hitting him early would get him frazzled for the rest of the game. Just glad they switched away from it when it wasn't working.
  9. Be sure to check out this weeks edition of Odds and Sods! http://morningbigblue.com/community/blog/4/entry-28-odds-and-sods-2014-no2-ottawa-redblacks-vs-winnipeg-blue-bombers/
  10. Now a days though people don't really need to walk up. They can buy the tickets online right before the game if they decide to go.
  11. Not sure what you mean by rotational guy, but if Morrisey isn't going to get regular playing time, if he can't show enough in TC or the first couple of games, he will be sent back down to juniors so he can get regular minutes.
  12. Its Game Day! Looks like the rain is behind us as the forecast for game time is 23 degrees and sunny and with a Southerly wind @ 15 km/hour. REDBLACKS are in town for their first CFL game ever. Lets see if the Blue and Gold can build on their outstanding effort last week against Toronto. As always, for those not attending the game, join us in our chat room for play by play discussion and commentary!
  13. The NFL doesn't need a contract to take over, they were released so they have no contract. The NFL would just sign them to a new one. The NFL actually never takes over a CFL contract, it isn't a minor / major league agreement. They would simply pay the CFL club to release the player so that they could sign them. Now it is true at that point that any other CFL or NFL team could sign them, but I'm pretty sure discussions with the agent would have taken place before that happens.
  14. Winning cures all. Become a winning organization and nothing else matters. These guys dedicate their lives to the sport, if they think they can get a ring, they will come.
  15. Well, I don't think that's the players fault. It's Cheveldayoff for signing an older player. I think the guy really gave it his best, especially last season. We gave away a second round pick in the Setoguchi trade, that's on Kevin as well. Yet, he won't get involved in going after key free agents preaching patience & fiscal restraint. Poor advice to the fans after those 2 moves & the payouts on contracts like that. At least Olli justified his salary last season but Setoguchi is a wash out. You don't think he tries on high profile free agents? Rumour is we offered more then what Statsny signed for. The Jets are a small market and a perennial non playoff team. Tough sell to bring the high profile free agents in. It is a two way dialog. Just because we want them doesn't mean they will come here.
  16. According to Dobber, he was signed to play on their first line with Neal. Mike Fisher and Colin Wilson being there other two options at top line centre. http://hockey.dobbersports.com/index.php/columnistsarticles-mainmenu-77/19-nhl-deals/6789-olli-jokinen-signs-with-predators
  17. Get your picks in for the week before the Bomber game starts on Thursday! http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=5&wid=49 Noeller in the lead right now going 4 for 4 last week with a large log jam at 3 wins. Remember, a $50 Bomber Gift Store certificate to the winner at then end of the season. Leaderboard: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=leaderboard&pid=5
  18. I believe there is one in the airport
  19. Sure, they can play a top six role for us if we decide to run a McDavid campaign. We already are
  20. Ribeiro, Legwand, Vrbata, are a few out there who could play a top 6 role. http://www.capgeek.com/free-agents/
  21. Sad to see Redmond go, would rather have him in our bottom pairing that a guy like Clitsome. But as far as prospect depth, we are probably deepest at D.
  22. They traded for Setoguchi, wasn't a free agency signing ... which makes it worse as they gave up a high 2nd rounder for him.
  23. Certainly not a "big" signing, but didn't really expect any from the Jets. Will likely slot in as the 3rd line centre replacing Jokinen behind Scheifele and Little. Apparently he spent some time last season on the Ducks 2nd line with Selanne.
