  1. There is something goofy going on during games which I believe is tied to the chat room, and it isn't tied to the number of people hitting the website. We should have no problems keeping up with any kind of traffic this site would get. I've noticed it during both away games now so it isn't a coincidence. (not home during home games so I'm not monitoring it). I logged a ticket with our hosting company during the last game, they didn't get to it until after the game was over, but they did say that the logs indicated that the server was running out of memory and constantly rebooting. They tried changing a few optimizations and have a few other ideas to try if it doesn't get fixed. People already in the chat room aren't affected as the chat room is hosted off site. We didn't see this last year as we were on a different hosting company and setup at the time. So, if you have problems with the site tonight during the game, please have patience, I'll be monitoring it and trying to get it fixed. If you want in the chat room, best to get in a little early before the game. If we are experiencing difficulties again, be patient and keep trying, the server will reboot and you will be able to get in before it runs out of memory and goes down again
  2. Ignorant. You don't think a head coach who throws his players under the bus at every turn, who basically said that the talent level on the team isn't good enough to win, isn't a cancer in the room? You don't think that stuff doesn't bring the team down. Have you ever had a boss that everyone hated that when he walked into the room everyone shut up and was immediately on edge? I was never in the locker room, so I can't say this is how it was, but based on what I saw of his interviews, how he composed himself, how he spoke, and what he said, I would have a very hard time respecting what he did and said as a player. And that is the worst kind of cancer to bring to any team, because it permeates from the top down. Bashing people grows old very quickly, especially after they're gone. Tim Burke had his faults no doubt, being truthful and candid were probably a few of them but in most walks of life these traits are admired. How about Walters role in the 2013 season? In your mind does he walk free without absorbing any of the responsibility for the team's losing record? For the majority of the season he was the GM above even Tim Burke if I recall. What actions did he take to provide Burke with better players so that they could win? Is he absolved of all blame? The part of your statement that I bolded actually made me chuckle. If you ever find yourself in the back of a room grumbling about your boss or organization guess what? In that situation you are the "cancer" of which you speak. Seeing as how Joe Mack was fired mid way through the 2013 season, and since he only took over mid season I'm not sure what you expect that Kyle Walters could have done at that point in time. For example, it is widely known that Walters wanted to draft Edem, Mack overruled and drafted Mulumba. Seeing what Walters has done since gaining full control as GM, yes I give him a pass on the 2013 season. No where in my post did I mention employees grumbling about a boss or organization when they walked into the room. You added that. I've seen situations where a boss is so out to lunch that people just clam up when he walks in regardless of what they were just doing. As for you applauding and admiring Tim Burke's honesty, in no walk of like do I find it acceptable to pass the buck and blame other people when you were put in charge to lead. If you have problems with peoples performances, take them aside and keep it in house. Never do it in the media and never do it in front of others. Taking responsibility and saying you are going to right the ship, taking the blame for a situation when you are in charge (whether it is your fault or not), gets you respect and admiration, because the people on the inside of that situation know the truth. Passing the buck just adds to the problem. But on the flip side, I'm glad I was able to make you chuckle.

  4. Logan007 and Noeller currently top the leaderboard with 14 correct picks. Check out the current standings here: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=leaderboard&pid=5 Be sure to get your picks in this week before game time tonight: http://morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=5&wid=53
  5. It's game day! The 4 -1 Bombers take on the 1 - 3 Tiger-Cats. Can the boys in blue build on the momentum from last game? The defense allowed only two field games against the Lions, and now they take on the Hamilton Offense run by Dan LeFevour. LeFevour rushed for over 100 yards last game. Can the Bombers D contain him? Forecast in Hamilton tonight is rain in the afternoon which should be clearing for game time, with a game time temperature of 21 degrees Celcius and a SW 15 km/h wind. Chris Cuthbert and Glenn Suitor will be calling the game tonight for TSN. As always, join us in the chat room during the game!
  6. It is the depth that has taken a hit on most teams, and that depth is felt most when injuries hit. Personally, I like that teams are being forced to play Canadian in new ways. Mother is the necessity of invention. Canadian athletes aren't necessarily worse then their American counter parts, they just haven't had the same opportunities, training, and competition. Give these Canadian kids a chance to play against higher competition and watch them grow into gamers.
  7. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/Bombers-moving-back-to-CFLs-West-Division-223527041.html Wade was in charge when they made the announcement. I suppose it is possible those talks started with Joe Mack / Buchko
  8. It was the Bombers choice and Wade chose to move back to the West, as that is where we belong.
  9. I wonder if Hoggins was on board with this or if it was forced on him.
  10. I know last year when Johnny Lefever played against us he moved the ball at will. Let's hope this year is different.
  11. Hefney isn't being brought in as a player for the Bombers.
  12. No clue .. I'd even ask .. when did the injury happen? Thought he came out of the game relatively unscathed. Maybe Jay-Z stepped on it.Yep I saw him at the concert and he was having a great time. Didn't look injured to me. So second or third angry post about moore (and other bombers) going to this concert... Im curious, do you believe these guys should be caged up and only let out for games and practices or..? Where do you see the anger in that post?
  13. Here is the problem ... on a good team, Frolik is a very strong 3rd liner, who can play top 6 when there are injuries. Great penalty killer who can chip in offensively. On a team like the Jets, he gets to play on the top 6 all the time. If you pay Frolik like a top 6, you will never get to be a good team because your money is wrapped up in a player who probably shouldn't be there. So yes, a deal could have gotten done, but is it the deal you really want?
  14. Without knowing what kind of money he was holding out for you can't just blame Chevy. If they were asking in the 5M range and wouldn't back down, then sometimes walking away can be a better move then just signing someone and handcuffing your team long term. I would take Frolik in the 4M range. Much more and it is too much.
  15. Not surprising, Bombers stay at 3rd behind Calgary and Edmonton. http://cfl.ca/article/cflca-power-rankings-unbeaten-stamps-on-top-again
  16. Are you really going to call Ray a lousy QB because of one bad game? Games Played: 178 Comp Pct: 67.5 Yards: 47,466 TDs: 251 Ints: 143 Rating 98.0 Grey Cups: 3 Games Played: 219 Comp Pct: 62.0 Yards: 39,418 TDs: 222 Ints: 151 Rating: 90.3 Grey Cups: 0 Guess which stat line belongs to which QB. They've both had long enough careers on good teams and bad to smooth over the "bumps" Is there any situation where you would choose Glenn as your QB over Ray?
  17. Well it's impossible to keep track of all the stupid that comes out of his drool-hole. Yeah, I tend to tune out half way through his sentences.
  18. No, they are playing in SK, he meant down the highway from Regina.
  19. Does the West dominance continue now with Sask and Toronto? Quick score for the Riders.
  20. I voted yes but I do wonder how long his rope is. Very good chance we don't make the playoffs this year with the conference we are in. Do we have to make them next year, the year after before people start calling for his head? When the Wild came back to Minnesota, took them 10 years before they stopped selling out and a winning team mattered more to the bottom line.
  21. After years of suffering through horrible teams, I think a lot of people are still waiting for the bottom to fallout. We will see what this team is really made of after Labour day. But you are right. We are 4 -1, just spanked BC in BC. Didn't even give up a TD. Lets enjoy it.
