  1. No he just went MIA before a game and it came out publicly that the rest of the Jets didn't want him in the dressing room, it comes out to the same thing. Everyone knew he was never going to play another game in Winnipeg.
  2. Be happy to sign Scheifele for $5M per for the next 8 years.
  3. We did okay good with the return on Kane
  4. As soon as there are more than one team interested, the value goes up ... and guaranteed if the Jets offered Stuart and a third, some other team would offer more. TB owns the asset for years to come. Drouin has no leverage. TB will let him sit and rot rather then trade him for below market value. It isn't like he is a core piece of their lineup that they need to replace if he sits out. TB can afford to wait more than Drouin can.
  5. Can't worry about this IMO. With restricted free agency, you have enough time to show your organization and city. How many players actually play for their home city in their career. When is Toews coming home? Jets seem to scout the US College system more than other teams, at least for now. I think they see real value when some of those players drop to their drafting position. You always take BPA and worry about the rest of it later.
  6. Most of the Canadian prospects from Canada are either too old for the tournament or playing in the NHL. Lots of 18 year olds in an under 20 tournament. As for the Jets, it takes time for prospects to make an impact. You don't go from playing in the Juniors tournament to making a huge impact in the NHL.
  7. Another 5 hour outage. Probably going to have to move the site sooner than later.
  8. What does this tweet mean? Need the context of the tweet he was responding to: Paul Friesen ✔ @friesensunmedia Why is it news the Blue #Bombers are making a scheduled mortgage payment? Come to think of it, given their history, maybe it is.
  9. Assume you go for max term with both Scheifele and Trouba, it would be nice to have them staggered by a year or two so you aren't looking at losing / re-signing them both at the same time x years down the road. Sign one for 8 years (probably Scheifele) , bridge the other.
  10. There has really been no discussion here on the World Juniors this year (of course this may be because the site was down for most of the tournament) Looks like Canada is about to lose to Sweden. We don't look to have a very strong team this year. Have to admit I haven't watched or followed a whole lot of the tournament, especially with so few Jets prospects out this year. Has anyone been watching?
  11. Here is an interesting question... If we have another 6 - 7 win season and no playoffs, O'Shea is most likely gone (can't see how they would justify extending him unless they do it after a 5 - 0 start and he craps the bed in the second half) but what would you do with Walters. Does he get one more head coach hire, or is he gone as well?
  12. Yeah there is a difference between meddling owners and active owners. Put yourself in Chipman's shoes, if you owned the JEts and ask yourself how involved you would want to be with Chevy.
  13. It was a conditional 7th I believe Yes, a conditional 7th round in 2017. If you are talking about the 2nd overall pick (our first round pick), we used it in the supplemental draft to grab Garrett Waggoner. So it wasn't a wasted or traded pick, we just picked a player early. Will take a couple of years before we really know if it was wisely used or not.
  14. $25M + $100M loan to be read by a facility fee over the next 30 years. So not really that much different then the Bomber plan, we just have a loan rather then facility fee, I think the original Bomber plan was to pay an $80M loan after the sale of the old stadium for retail and property taxes on that location to cover another $100M.
  15. Now you can
  16. Should be able to figure out most of that when they release their annual report. Usually in April.
  17. Here is an interesting site that tries to adjust players points over the eras to compensate for things like differences in schedules, roster sizes, and the scoring of the time. http://www.hockey-reference.com/leaders/points_adjusted_season.html Hawerchuk is rated 43rd. Doan is rated 78. Still a fine career for Doan to be in the top 100.
  18. I don't think there is much of a comparison between Hawerchuk and Doan, I think Hawerchuk was by far the better talent. But you also can't really compare the stats between the two. Different eras. No one puts up numbers like they did in Hawerchuk's time.
  19. For future reference, if I say Site Backup it means I'm talking about the daily backups that we take. If I say Site Back Up, then it has the context displayed in this thread.
  20. You can't compare the output of two players to one. They take two roster spots. Gretzky takes one. What about the "other" player the Kings got to ice because they had Gretzky?
  21. Just shows you how stacked Edmonton was back then. You really think the primary focus of this deal wasn't $15M in cash?
  22. I'm glad the site is back up but it was a maddening couple of days. Checking constantly to see if the site was up and (the useless) updates from the hosting company. Frustrating when there is nothing to do but wait. I now have a plan on where I will be moving to. It probably won't happen for a few months as we are current prepaid until May.
  23. A new franchise would have to start playing next year for Pav to be expansion bait.
  24. So if we take the Jets 1.0 history, what happens to the Thrashers history? Do the current Jets lose their franchise stats from Atlanta?
  25. Trade Pav and retain $1M this year $2M next year of his salary. He becomes an attractive backup at $2M cap hit. Just need a playoff team to get an injury to a starting goalie in about a months time.
