Firekid reacted to wbbfan in Esks vs Bombers Depth Charts
Hes a high risk high reward type of player. He is either having a huge game between runs + catch and runs or hes dropping passes. He is a tremendous player who I think will have a break out year this year. A lot of dynamic young players go though the growing pains he is. Not knowing when to go down and when to fight for yards, ball protection, looking down field rather then securing the ball.
I love the fit in our offense and the talent he has. I wonder though if we might be better served in some situations (especially with a lead wr like mathews out previously) by starting petermann who is steady and consistent and subbing in demski for package work. Allowing him to be fresher and more focused on key plays. Both guys are starter quality imo, and have sky high potential. Demski will bounce back I have no doubt.

Alls I know is I get nervous when the all comes to him in a way that doesn't happen with the other receivers. Guy has a lot of skill, but had some adventures with catching and holding onto the ball.

I like it better when you drop fire on the other guys instead of friendly fire.

I take it as he thinks the Shmoes have a 33% better chance in winning the ball game or why would he pick them to win? I would like to tell him that he is sorely mistaken and the pounding Dumbo and his team are going to take tomorrow will drop them down two spots in the power rankings. It will make me proud to watch Hardrick and Gray kick the shlt out of their so dominant (according to the media) D Line and show them who they really are. A bunch of Dumbo lead Shmoes. There, I feel better for now lol!

Wolitarksy: Hey Nick, I can hold this ball with just one hand without dropping it. Can you?
Demski: Whoah! Awesome! Can you teach me how to do it?

Great looking depth chart. The only thing that would make it better to me is seeing Petermann replace Demski AKA - Dropski AKA - Tiptheballtoadefenderforaninterceptionski as the starter. It may not be the popular opinion but it certainly is mine. Demski can be effective don't get me wrong but he makes me nervous every time the ball goes his way.

Tarski and Tiptheballtoadefenderforaninterceptionski? Doesn't work. Needs a new nickname. Work harder.

Firekid reacted to Eternal optimist in CFL Week 2 Takeaways
This really doesn't make sense to me... anyone that's going to buy food at the game is ... at the game, not watching it on the tube. The only way this makes sense to me would be if they were somehow earning extra revenue off it (ad revenue?), but even that's a stretch, that or food revenue is down drastically league-wide.
Unfortunately, I think like many other cable companies, TSN underestimated the drop-off as cord-cutters begin to age up and become the dominating market.

Don't underestimate the impact that a lot of the younger generation are not subscribing to cable or sat anymore. They stream their TV / Movies via Netflix et al and live sports is not offered on these types of apps. If they want to watch a game they gather with friends at a local drinking hole and watch from there.
In Toronto, if it is not a part of the US mainstream sports like NBA, NHL and why Toronto so badly wants the Bills to relocate there (We are the biggest and best city in Canada and we are better than being Canadian) they don't care. CFL is too small time for Toronto now.
MTL has no fans because they are a terrible team that had terrible owners and terrible management so who the hell wants to support that? They are not diehards like Winnipeg has.
BC is in the middle of those two if you ask me. A city that is on the point of getting too big to care for Canadian sports and the team hasn't been very good for awhile now. They figured it was because they had a QB issue and went out and spent too much to fix that but flattened the rest of the team in doing that. If they are not winning, the fans don't follow them.
The cure is not going to be easy and if it was we wouldn't be discussing this. Someone gets paid good dollars to figure it out and they need to work a little harder I guess.

Firekid got a reaction from Jaxon in 2019 CFL Season: Around the League
Lawrence did a "crime" and he needs to pay the time. Plain and simple. The CFLPA shouldn't defend him for this. They should guide him in the right direction so he can improve himself and his play in the future and that is the help they need to give him not reducing his penalty for a "crime" he committed and deserves to pay for. The PA needs to think out of the box on what standing up for their members means. Supporting Lawrence in a program to better himself and his play on the field is standing up for their member so he can have a longer and more positive impact on the game. That is looking out for player safety at the same time. What the hell is reducing his penalty going to do to help the player other than in his wallet? How is getting his penalty reduced improving player safety? Get your head out of Simonies a$$ CFLPA.
