Vaval returns punts both return kick offs. Cooley becomes the back up wr as we have done in the past with guys like gmc. Then we di Sergio and probably Ayers.
Cooleys been better catching passes than our fa wr vets.

If Brady went down we’d be pooched way more than if an imp wr did. Plus we could spell Brady more, use him as a pass catcher more, and keep him healthy.

Brady is like any other power running back. He wants the ball & gets better with the more carries he gets. I don't think Oliveira would be effecive with 10-12 carries a game. He needs it 15, 20 or 25 times.

I think this game finalized what we all knew…

This years TC MVP winner, is Cooley. Following in the footsteps of the oft mentioned legend tony ortiz and countless others, Cooley won over the fans, media, staff and his fellow players. He tore up the field every time he got a chance and has assured him self a tremendous package in the next couple days.

Instead of the usual apple and a road map, he can look forward to a steak sandwich from Simone’s and a business class plane ticket on an indirect flight.

In all seriousness, he’s shown he deserves a chance to play in this league. He even had a nice block on a sweep, and a really nice catch in a ball low and behind.

The ratio is wrong for Cooley as running back is a canadian spot. So, how do we keep him?

think the CFL could benefit from a third preseason game?  Doesn't seem like two games is enough to  vet the newcomers and re-vet the veterans while allowing the undisputed starters to grind the rust off.

(though I bet the question isn't "can they benefit from it" I think the question is more "can they afford it?"  I can't see pre-season games being big money generators.)

Instead of a 3rd pre season game, have a controlled scrimmage to cut costs. One team goes to the other team's camp & have it on their practice field, sell tickets, concessions, merch, etc.

Who's your QB1?  Rourke or Ford?

    Brady starts at RB, naturally.

Five Canuck receivers: T Philpot, Demski, Emelius, Gittens Jr, K. Smith from Hamilton.

I think Philpot is the best of these.  Sad that he got banged up last year, he was on a 1600-yard pace the first half of the year and it seemed like he could not be covered.

Does anyone even play national offensive tackles anymore?

Rourke or..... Ford??? At least Rourke can read a defense.

You know I agree with the premise but 5 straight cup finals means they are here as long as they both want to be.

    Three straight losses.

If zc I'd wanna see Strev get at least the first half...Wilson 3rd and part of 4th...new guy last part of 4th...as there no way in hell he getting in the first game so why bother...hes strictly development guy at this point...hes not unseating and of the 3 ahead of him

Even with Schoen back we shoulda still payed Lawler in my opinion...Eliminate D Mitchel and Thomas money...hes paid for....Lawler..Schoen..Clercius..Demski...White would look pretty sweet right about now..

The decision making on personnel & how money is spent makes no sense.

  6. Gotta say not happy seeing Woli & Lawler playing for the Ti Cats last night. It was still a shock to the system to see all the former Blue Bombers on that team even though we knew it already. I can understand releasing Woli & wanting to get more playing time for Clercius but Lawler? Currrently the best deep threat in the CFL at the moment. Walters better hope that Schoen plays every game, has a dominant season & get bogged down with injuries since Walters hasn't got a contract for next season. Neither has Osh.

About time. Sounds like the cfl put their foot down and are holding the ALs responsible to the standard held across the league.

The Als are still keeping their selfish & entitled "Oh whoa is me" fans in the loop. Making them feel like they're important when they're not.

He can definitely be effective when used in very small doses. And, fwiw, it looks like he's lost a fair bit of weight this year, which will hopefully help. Still want Lawson taking the majority of reps if we're insistent upon having a starting NI DT...

Jake brings little or nothing to the table as a player anymore. He gets washed out constantly. He puts very little pressure on opposings qbs. Halfbacks on other teams shoot through the hole right by him & he runs on his tippy toes.

Like I said I'm not seeing it but hey I'm not the technical expert so when game tape review happens by the experts, that is where fact can be found.

    You're not wrong.

2 out of the 4 you mentioned are gone. I don't agree at all that Kola has hit his best before..he just isn't a top notch OL and we don't have anyone to steal his job atm. We aren't starting Kola because Osh has a man crush on him. We are starting him because Eli was never able to take the job from him.

I don't get the Jake love either, so I can only assume that he must hold tremendous value to the room. Only thing that stands to reason really.  Not a good reason for the amount of reps he got, then again what was behind him? Should have gone IMP I suppose. Not sure why we felt the need to go 9 NATS all season.

It's an ego thing for Osh as in, "Look what I can do as a coach.". We also get extra draft picks.

Yeah he was particularly good at destroying a teams cohesiveness and robbing from Peter to pay Paul and sacrificing a total team

Jones was just an awful individual when it came to a lot of things but let's face it, you reward loyalty if you can still play effectively. You don't create loyalty by playing guys who can't do the things they used to do as well anymore just because of longevity.

What does that do for the morale of the younger guys forced to sit it out on the sidelines while an aging & fading veteran still gets the majority of playing time? Where the loyalty there? Where the development? Where's the continuity of replacements when it's time? Lots of frustration from the younger players & that could explain why we can't seem to keep our guys for their second contract.

Wally never did this. Neither did Huff. Don Matthews from all accounts was a great coach to play for. The veterans loved him but if individual performances of some of those veterans began to slide, those players were gone. That's how it should be. Someone like Jake Thomas should be told it's time to go. Give Jake a nice send off during the season but otherwise sayonara, goodbye.

Adams and Woods were either left off the game day roster or hurt for long stretches last year.

I do see your point though, having our DT’s brutalize Kola in camp actually isn’t saying much… but the dl was still better during rare live snaps when JT was on the sideline.

JT taking most of the snaps and not having a Nevis or Stove type next to him for sure been a key issue.  Really bad composition and use of DE rotation also frustrating to see.

You have to wonder just WTH the Bombers are thinking. Pressure helps the back end. If you already have a talented defensive backfield hen hurrying passes from opposition qbs just eats offenses up.

I'd settle for some unfounded hype right about now.  48 hours out from the 1st pre-season game and I've heard very little about camp.  Other than Tait's "Training Camp Reports" (which don't really report all that much), there's been next to nothing.  Feels worse than usual but maybe it's just me?

That's what happens when the football season is moved up 2-3 weeks & training camps start mid May. We have the SC playoffs going on in Canada. Everyone is paying attention to that. Especially media. Camps should be starting now with the pre season in June & season openers July 1st.

At least we get spared clips of camp tippy toes….

Year after year there are at least one or two vids of Kola getting absolutely destroyed by a DT.  Last year it was either Adams or Woods making him look stupid.  Just saw a clip of #94, Adams again - put Kola on roller skates.  Just insane that the team doesn’t see any need to upgrade center.

Walters, Osh & Younger don't feel the need to upgrade the DL at the 0-2 techs either. Haven't since we last won the GC in 2021. Coincidence????? We play like we constantly eat Cheetos on the defensive line. Worst in the CFL.
