The terrible thing about this entire situation is that it'll go on & on & on.... with speculation. Hey training camps are supposed to start in 6 weeks & our Commish has said nothing about it. What a waste of space Ambrosie is. He just crawls under a rock & hides.

The more people vaccinate the more dangerous it becomes for those that don't. I don't understand the fear or the conspiracy theories out there. I know a number of people who absolutely refuse to get it. They're in their 50's & 60's. It could be their funeral.

Well, I feel that the league is doomed the way it's going. I'm willing to try to find out if this would work. I'd rather go out with a bang than a whimper.
-
Or we can't have family over (in Alberta) yet churches can ignore health restrictions for gatherings indoor & nothing happens.

One thing I know about pandemics. Don't rely on trends as things change fast. You don't know what variants will mutate into in the months to come. I finally got my Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine Thursday, The clinic was in the old Greyhound Bus Station in downtown Calgary. No lineups. Didn't have to wait.
-
I'm not an epidemiologist but it seems to me the more people that are vaccinated the less people available to be infected & the virus will continue to mutate & infecting people who are not vaccinated. .

Unfortunately, that's what has to happen for younger people to finally get scared & pay attention. Since January 2020, Covid was thought of as an "old person" disease. Anyone over 60-65. So, young people ignored health orders to keep everyone safe. They figured they'd never get sick & die. Well, guess what??

2020 Blue Bombers Financial Statement Released
SpeedFlex27 replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Isn't it ironic that the 3 community owned teams will weather this pandemic than the rich, well heeled owners in CFL's biggest markets? -
The reality is less people care about 3 down football in the 3 biggest markets in the CFL. All 3 are close to NFL markets, surprise, surprise. You guys can call me names but don't shoot the messenger as it's fact. The CFL business model has to change. That's what this is about. There's not a chance the CFL will survive the way things are going & if it doesn't change. It's not Toronto-centric. That's the reality of the situation, unfortunately.

You see other networks deploy the latest technology. TSN's broadcast other than the Grey Cup seems stuck in the 90's. We need better & more camera angles & the roving automated camera to show the game like pre snap formations & highlights from above. TSN needs to show more information onscreen so it is available to fans. Like up to date real time stats for rushing, passing & receiving as well as defensive stats for tackling etc. They must do more with the coloured markers on screen for red zones, first & ten, down & distance & even directional arrows for fans who are clueless. This would include new Canadians who don't understand the game or the language. There is no innovation. Yes, I know it's expensive to upgrade but TSN doesn't have much else for properties to broadcast other than the World Junior Tournament over Xmas. No idea why they can't do more getting the info out & improve the broadcasts. TSN has to eliminate the many glitches during games that affect the broadcasts like power failures, loss of audio &/or video signals & pixelation. Have a 15-30 minute post game show instead of immediately jumping to a sportscast no one really cares about. Personally, I believe the only reason Rod Black is there is because of seniority I'd imagine. Not because he is any good.
-
I've no issue with the TSN panel but I sure do with their broadcast crews. Now with Chris Cuthbert gone they haven't one outstanding broadcaster in the bunch. They're all terrible to me. That's the problem with TSN. They could do so much more to attract younger viewers but they don't want to. They have the same people doing the games. The broadcasts are the same. Nothing changes because they don't have to change without competition. TSN thinks TNF is somehow cool showing rotten Canadian bands at halftime. The broadcasts are not cool.

I have no sympathy for people who claim their rights are being discriminated. Screw them.

I was driving & I forgot where I was going. I went, "Where am I??" I was going to start panicking but then it all came back to me. Sheesh!! I talked to people my age & they went, "Oh yeah. happens to me all the time!" Which made me feel better. This has happened more than once in the past. I figured it was the onset of Dementia but nope just getting old. My brain was saying to the rest of my body, "Ha ha, I'm gonna mess with you now!!"
-
Well, it Depends. I won't argue that.
-
Agreed. if there was competition most of the TSN broadcast crews would be gone & replaced with fresher faces. But they have a monopoly so things will never change.
-
Easy, Don't watch.
-
That was then. Things change. I don't know if Global would televise any games as they don't do sports either. CTV has the NFL.
-
I know. I was thinking about Yellowstone when I posted. It's more satire with all the reboots we see now. Wait till you reach 65 & feel blessed you remember where the bathroom is.
-
Bring back Bonanza in a reboot. Except make it today. The great great great great grandsons of Ben, Adam, Hoss & Little Joe run the Ponderosa now & they fight to keep the ranch going with evil developers & politicians trying to take away their land. Can't you just see each of them 4 riding in Ford F 150's & Chevy Silverado trucks into the picture while the theme song plays???

I've been saying that for years. The CBC would be a natural choice for the CFL as they've lost the NHL.
-
The CFL needs to honour bonuses. Our idiot Commissioner seems to think that they aren't important. He made sure players didn't get paid these bonuses during the last CBA negotiations. And teams cut veterans days before a bonus is due. Bite the bullet & pay it for crissakes. Get rid of the 1 year deals & UFA. Only players with a certain number of years in as players & when they reach a certain age get to become UFA's,
-
Well, you can't blame them but... that is what is bringing the CFL down. Wholesale player movement & 1 year deals. Unless the NFL is ready to invest a ton of money into the CFL then I say no to these 1 year deals. We (CFL) play the nice guy & look what is happening. The NFL gets a player for nothing even though a CFL team spent its resources developing them. I'd like to see when they sign a contract then they're locked in. Get rid of these incredibly stupid 1 year deals & UFA. Make sure the players understand that once they sign a CFL contract they are locked in for that time period. Yeah, the players won't like it but so what? If things continue the way they are there won't be a CFL for them to play in.
-
The only way to stop these deals is to completely disallow them & go to restricted free agency. The league is going down because the owners & players are ******* morons. Take care of your fans first. Make them feel engaged again & let them get to know their players like they used to. Stop trying to please some hot shot rookie running back from Arkansas who has NFL dreams only. **** him if he doesn't want to sign a two or 3 year deal. And **** players like Henoc Muamba that could care less if they play on a winner or a loser as long as they get the money they want. Guys like Adam Bighill sacrificed while Muamba wants more. The CFL can continue to be run badly or make painful & hard decisions on player movements. If the players don't like it then they can retire. That's my take anyway.
