  1. That tells me his shoulder is still an issue as he's getting tired throwing the ball.
  2. So much whining about how c-c-c-cold it is to watch a game in November. Hell, the Bombers sold out last season on December 6th!! with the threat of a blizzard. I liked the 14 game season. I thought it was perfect. Not as much of a grind on the players. Season a month shorter but I was okay with that.
  3. Jake Maier is on the bench but Dickenson is stubborn. He won't make a change that easily.
  4. He sure is a streaky player. Even during a game.
  5. Here's a different use for a rod.
  6. Antwi surprising run. Antwi holding. Both qbs cooling off... Bo throws a pick. I guess it only took a quarter of the very first game for the defenses to catch up.
  7. It's no different than any other game. Rod Black was fired last September.
  8. Adams has to hold onto the ball on those sacks.
  9. Knee/ankle. Man, that sucks. Stanbeck is a beast on the field & is a classy player. This doesn't look good being carted out.
  10. When the Flames bought the Stamps, we here all thought a new stadium would be on the horizon. Maybe the fans who are 25 might see it in their lifetime but anyone older than that won't which is a sad, sad, sad, state of affairs. We thought Flames money would go into promotion & advertising making the team relevant again but nope. I think the problem is you have hockey people trying to run the Stamps marketing. With the Flames, people just show up at the Saddledome & they don't have to do much. With football, they don't know what to do so nothing gets done. Tickets overpriced & concessions expensive. Like MLSE, CSEC is set in their ways. Meanwhile in Edmonton we have owners trying not only to make their teams of value with fans in those cities butDomain & Cui also are trying to show fans that THEY CARE ABOUT THEM & ARE IMPORTANT. Not so with the organizations in TO & here. Suitor just wants to talk about Bo. At least, Rod Smith isn't laughing at everything Suitor says. He keeps him honest. Uh oh, Stanbeck.
  11. Living here in YYC, I have no idea why CSEC owns the Stamps. They do nothing to promote the games. It shows in the stands. they're as bad as MLSE.
  12. I always thought London or the Kitchener-Waterloo area would work. London has a stadium that could be expanded.
  13. No idea why O'Shea didn't give Collaros at least a quarter last game to shake things out before the season started. Yeah, there's concern about injuries but you can't worry about that. He needs playing time.
  14. Nice work!! Really enjoyed your video. Well done. You may want to consider doing football highlight videos for senior high & junior football players looking to be recruited by college teams in the US & Canada & make a few bucks doing that. Players are always looking for videographers to do quality work. As do teams at all levels doing videos just like this. Just something that crossed my mind.
  15. When Larry Tannenbaum throws up his arms saying he can't do anything about the Argos but he did nothing.
  16. We all do but still he should have known better. I don't know what all went down during negotiations. I do remember that the Bombers wanted to work him out before signing him to see how he was physically & he refused. I know Walters was unhappy he didn't have an agent as it was getting difficult to negotiate with Harris & he wasn't going to get the money he wanted. Then he left very unhappy & saying so when he did. Listen, other Blue Bombers in the past left & said things. Some pretty funny & harmless like D i c k Thornton's quip, "The best thing about Winnipeg are the roads leading out of it". As well as Dieter Brock's one liner, "There's nothing to do in Winnipeg but go the the Zoo." I'm sure Gerry James had some choice words as he disliked Bud Grant & the Bombers so much at the time. A year after the Brock for Clements trade, we had the "Brockbuster Game". Totally sold out. It was the game all the fans had circled on the 1984 schedule. The Saturday Night Dieter Brock came back to the City as a Ti Cat a year after he left. He was mocked & teased by fans to the original Ghostbusters song. A Dee Jay even cut a completely new Ghostbuster song with lyrics using the phrase, "Who ya gonna call? BROCK BUSTERS!!" Dieter handled the situation very well, even laughing on the sidelines at times. As he was such a good sport about it any animosity the fans may have felt towards him changed & he became a fan favourite again. Maybe he'd have had no relationship with the Bombers ever again if it wasn't for that game as the fans sure had a lot of fun at his expense. I think he did as well even though the Ti Cats lost. Other players have been traded & released & kept their feelings to themselves like Don Jonas who was revered at the time he was traded to the Tiger Cats. He was smart enough to keep it inside & not say anything to the media. Everyone is different, though.
  17. Harris reportedly showed up at camp out of shape & had a bad attitude. Well, that explains (1) the injuries & missed games as well as (2) the mouthing off when he left. What he failed to realize was by criticizing the Bombers, the team is bigger than the man.
  18. "What if they play like crap?"
  19. That is the strangest looking man I've ever seen.
  20. Dieter wrote a book saying he was wrong & leaving was a mistake considering the talent the Bombers had at the time. He was remorseful & it was heartfelt. Fans can relate & he was forgiven but Harris will have to do the same. Maybe not write a book like Brock did but that would be interesting if he did. Harris will have to say he was sorry & the fans will forgive. Canadian Fullback Gerry James left the Bombers in 1963 after helping the Bombers win 4 Grey Cups. He was angry at the Bomber organization in general & Bud Grant in particular. He felt unappreciated & unwanted. He signed for more money to play with Saskatchewan but it was only for a year, maybe two. Even though he's a Blue Bomber alumni, I've read that he never reconciled with the team. He's one player that should be talked about more for his contributions but isn't. A player having a burr in his saddle doesn't help his cause.
  21. I agree. He'll be up on the WOF someday. I just wish he'd have gone out saying how proud he was to play in front of Bomber fans & donning that Bomber jersey. Thanking the Bombers for the opportunity instead of being petty & vindictive when he left. Pro football is a business. Most players don't get to go out on their own terms. Injuries, age & competition always come into the situation. My son Tyler blew out his hamstring in his left leg training in the off season between his junior & senior year at SFU. It may have cost him the starting qb position with the team. That happened in February & he wasn't ready to go when the season started in September. He only played sparingly his senior year which was a huge disappointment. That hamstring tear still bothers him today. He needs surgery but there's no rush. He would have tried harder to get on somewhere as a free agent or play in Europe but he couldn't run anymore. He wasn't ready to stop playing but the game was over for him. That's why he went into coaching. He could still stay in the game. Like he tells his qbs that he trains. To enjoy their time in the sun as most of them won't have a choice when the game tells them it's over. Happens to the greats all the time.
  22. I wish Harris well but man did he ever open his pie hole & burn bridges when he left here in February. He was a great back who helped us win 2 Grey Cups. He was one of the most loved player in Bomber history. The way he left was just sad. Now, it looks like he's just an over the hill journeyman pro who doesn't know when to retire. If the story is true that Harris is injured then he can't even practice anymore let alone play.
