Players played with broken bones & concussions back in the day. They kept playing as they just got their bell rung. Suck it up. The stuff of legends. Tough as nails. Thirty years later they're in a wheelchair or don't recognize their loved ones anymore. The good old days sometimes weren't the good old days.

Why is cutting a 31 year old kicker who isn't performing some kind of cruel act that somehow we'll regret?

I remember a couple of Bomber coaches with classic quotes: Joe Zaleski said when asked by a local scribe if the Bombers can make the playoffs after just 2 wins going into September. He answered, "We're optimistic". Bud Riley was asked why the Bombers lost their last game. He replied, "We just made a few mental errors". We heard that a lot during his tenure as HC. It was a common staple quote for him after every loss. So much so that fans would yell from thye stands on every stinker play, "Mental error, Bud???" At least no Bomber Head Coach has ever said he cut a player because he wasn't a "cultural fit". What the hell does that even mean??

Oh yeah, he'd always run out on the 45 yard line & then trot over to where the ball is to be placed. I bet a lot of kickers have rituals or superstitions. That final in the Grey Cup was awful.

I see that a lot on social media. It's fine but Mike doesn't kick field goals. The other guys do & right now both Liegghio & Mourtada are nervous headcases. Kicking looks easy but it's not. At some point both guys will have to put on their big boy pants then go out on the field & prove they belong.

Considering the CFL Draft is a crapshoot & to win another Grey Cup? Absolutely. This team has depth everywhere. We can afford to take a risk if it solidifies our chances of winning. make it an unconditional first round pick if he signs with us. Second round pick if he doesn't.

Make it an unconditional first round pick contingent on us signing Ward.

Whyte could kick for another 5 years at least. To get a proven quality kicker I'd trade our first pick without question.

Ottawa has improved greatly with Caleb Evans as their new, young qb. They play hard & are giving teams a run for their money now. It looks like the Elks have become the worst team in the CFL so the Bombers playing them is now the free space on the bingo card.

Trevor Harris may have had his problems this season but if Elizondo thinks Taylor Cornelius give his team a better chance of winning vs the Bombers then he's absolutely delusional. The Elks are a dumpster fire.

Looks like Trevor Harris may have played his last game with the Elks. According to 630 CHED's Dave Campbell, the analyst for the Elks games on radio, Jaimie Ekizondo told him he'll be a healthy scratch for the game Friday vs the Bombers.
