  1. I grew up in an alcoholic family. My father was a drunk. My Mom couldn't drive. You have no idea how terrifying it was going to a wedding or a social event with my parents. Then watching my Dad drink himself into oblivion every time. Afterwards sitting in the back seat of our car with my dad piss assed drunk driving home. There I was sitting in the back seat as a kid just praying we'd get home without being killed. So many times. There was such a feeling of helplessness by me all those times as I was too young to drive. I can only imagine how helpless my Mother felt. She never got her drivers license because she was born in 1912 & raised on the farm something like 10 km from the nearest school so she only had a Grade 2 education. She could barely read or write. She didn't have the confidence to drive. I get what Lawler did. It was so wrong to put himself & others at risk. I hope this was just a one time thing & he learns his lesson.
  2. Everybody makes a mistake. Lawler has let everyone down. Bad, bad judgement call on his part. Not only did he get a DUI but he violated league mandated Covid 19 protocols. He may sit out longer than a single game. We'll see.
  3. This has been something that goes back to the Shivers-Barrett era 20 years ago. Playing undisciplined football. It seems no coach or GM wants to really get rid of that selfisn Me First culture on the Riders. Guys like Marshall & Gainey are yappers who seem to enjoy selfish & undisciplined play whether it hurts their team or not.
  4. I always review a thread going back one or 2 pages just to get a feel for the conversation. What do you make of Cody Fajardo's comments? Not only did he criticize his receivers but also Jason Maas's play calling as well as not agreeing with his call on the late interception. Not a good situation.
  5. Don't we all know that. Nothing is written in stone until it is.
  6. Zach's also much more mobile allowing his receivers to get open when he scrambles around much like Tom Clements was. DC's around the league have to account for him in their matchups so it's truly 12 0n 12 & not 12 on 11 as it was with Matt Nichols who was no threat to run. The four best qbs since 1981, Brock, Clements, Jones & Collaros. Not necessarily in that order.
  7. Then there's Duncan Keith of the Oilers who on Friday was whining that his rights were violated by the NHL's mandatory vaccination rules. This was before Nate Archibald's news of myocarditis. I wonder what he thinks now?
  8. If I'm a Rider receiver, I'm pissed right now.
  9. What a **** GM this guy is. He's clueless. I don't even think he believes his job is in jeopardy. Give the RedBlack fans some hope.
  10. If the Stamps decide they'd rather have Mitchell than Maier this off season then Hufnagel has totally lost his marbles. Unless Maier signed a 2 year deal. Craig Dickenson is safe. But Sunderland has done a terrible job.
  11. More Rider fans than any other team on social media pumping his tires. And Suitor. Dickenson will stick with him. Based on his "pedigree" as Suitor & Black said last night. I thought it was all about winning. BLM's past performances don't give the Stamps a better chance. A healthy Jake Maier does.
  12. Loved how the Stamps secondary rubbed it in the Riders faces on that last minute interception by running onto the stage in the end zone. I took it as an FU to the Rider secondary who celebrate even overthrown balls to a rival receiver after they were beaten cleanly. Looks good on ya Gainey & Marshall.
  13. When Black & Suitor both do a CFL game on TSN:
  14. Sore losers. Marshall tried to start a fight on the second last play of the game when Mitchell was taking a knee. He just never shuts up. He just keeps talking, talking, talking. He says nothing through all that babble. Hey, I'm gonna make up a new nickname. How about Play Maker Baker? STFU.
  15. Ritch loved his Lions & he loved his Bombay. I was so angry to hear what that guy did to him & sad he passed away but with his head injuries the life he knew was taken away from him years before. I hope that murderer burns in Hell for what he did. I have a bottle of Bombay at home. I have to say I think about Ritch whenever I have a drink.
  16. It could be. That was a huge hemet. Vernon Adams throws a goal line pic.
  17. I was alive but that was 1961, I believe so I read about it. His high altitude spy jet was shot down by ground to air missiles. He ejected, survived, captured & put on trial & convicted. He was finally released when the Soviets & Americans exchanged political prisoners. This was a major embarrassment for the US as the denied they were spying on the Soviets from high altitudes. How'd I do? Politics is okay. We all argue here about it so for me, he gets a pass. As far as posting here on the Bomber forum Zontar was okay.
  18. That BC line just looked like they were going thru the motions last night. They were beaten & defeated by halftime. One thing I noticed was that while Mike Reilly is a great qb but when things don't go well he doesn't give off a lot of positive vibes. He just looks angry. You never see him clapping or talking to his linemen trying to encourage & fire them up. He just goes to the bench & picks up his device & watches. Looks like he has very little interaction with his team during a game.
  19. Yes, thank you. If he sees this, come back anytime, man.
