Finally, finally starting Better Call Saul now. Finished first ep of new season last night. Easily one of my top 10 favourite shows ever - just so clever.
I've been running an outdated XBMC on my laptop for so long and had abandoned tv watching on it in favour of Netflix & sports. Now trying again. I guess I should just upgrade to Kodi or get a box and step up my game!

Yeah i watched it too, love that series. Didnt know the actor who plays nacho is canadian, thats cool.
Idk how long the series can go on for. Maybe if they run into the saul POV of breaking bad they could extend it. But other wise i see 1 maybe 2 more seasons.

Finished off S3 BCS last night. Too bad quality only goes so far. What is that 9/10 eps and they're done for another year?

@Wideleft I went with quality over quantity (and actually the 75" non-OLED was MORE than the 65" OLED I got).  Got the LG OLED E7.  And then went out and bought the OPPO 203 4K Blu Ray Player.  Magnificent.

Dude also provides millions of dollars to charities and is involved in many proactive communities and is actually practicing what he preeches. Not saying it's right or wrong but you have people like ray Lewis who killed someone and he's celebrated as one of the best ever. The hypocrisy is incredible.
Kaps'  a good dude who used his right as an American citizen to display his freedom of speech.
I understand it's a business, but he's a good qb, certainly good enough to be on an NFL roster.
    Just my 2 cents..

trump "leaked" that he was considering firing the special counsel. Well Mueller trumped Trumped by revealing he is actively investigating Trump now
And you just know Trump will want to fire him anyway in a near copy of the Saturday night massacre that led to Nixon's downfall.

Met some people in Washington state, who told me about this incident. Their son was involved in an argument in a grocery store checkout line. a few minutes later, as their son drove off from the store, the other party sprayed their sons  car with bullets, with some sort of automatic weapon.
Gun was most likely legally purchased, legally carried into and around the grocery store, and legally taken out on the street, where it was used in an attempt to murder someone, over a disagreement in a grocery store checkout line. If the son was killed, gun owners see that as worth it. unfortunate, but necessary price.
you need a license to drive, probably can't get a driver's license if you are mentally ill,, can't drink till your 21, but anyone can pack a gun.

Glad we don't have a major gun manufacturing lobby  in this country.

Not when you consider how many mass shootings have already occurred in the U.S. this year.
Today's shootings in #Alexandria & San Francisco bring the total # of mass shootings in 2017 to 195. -958 victims -675 injured -283 killed

    Most do. Very few don't.
I'm white and I don't get invited to KKK meetings. It's not like being Muslim means you automatically know anything about the terrorist networks.

This is a common thought though.  I admit to feeling it from time to time.  Im not sure if its "real" or imagined due to media coverage.  But I think the feeling is when a crazy white guy does something in the name of his race or religion, the vast majority of us loudly condemn it.  We have no problem with saying that those people are nuts and losers.
But when there is an attack made by Islamic terrorists, the sense is the Muslim community is too quiet in their condemnation.  How real that is, I dont know.  Because they DO condemn it.  But I think there is the perception the average Muslim sort of puts his head down and doesnt say anything.  And the idea that the Muslim community needs to weed out their crazies more is certainly one many subscribe to.
We do see plenty of defensive posturing. For example, open houses at Mosques inviting anyone to attend to see Muslim's in general are not extremists.
We're not talking about Muslim's fighting the extremists in the Middle East.  We're talking North America.  Where there is also the sense that if you see a suspicious Muslim, some people resist the urge to report due to feeling "racist".  Which is interesting because there is SO much bigotry towards Muslim's and people who just look like it (I recently debated with a guy about why wrestling fans would cheer Jinder, the guy feeling that it made no sense since he was a "terrorist").
Having a President that condones bigotry doesnt help.

a week or two ago, somewhere out your way, one of the right wing freaks attacked a muslim woman on the train, and then murdered two people who tried to subdue him.
There's a strong nazi, white supremacist movement in the pacific northwest. year or two one of freaks plotted to bomb a parade. a jury in Oregon aquitted those machine gun toting morons that took over the malheur wildlife reserve.
There's a very good documentary, on youtube  about a very small town in North Dakota, Leith, that was invaded by a white supremacist leader, planning to take over town council and make it a centre of that ****.
    They drove him out. legally.

This guy was at today's "anti-sharia" protest.  The flag he's holding is a Christian Identity flag.  The Christian Identity folks have ... novel ... ideas about how white people fit into biblical times.  They're not down with the mixing of the races, or with the gays, and they have a special hatred for the Jews.
Now if you read about CI, you'll see that this guy is clearly a loon (and a violent one, he was goading people to fight him.)  One could think, maybe he's on the far edge of his movement and it's dirty pool to hold him up as representative.
One of the "anti-sharia" pitches is that gay people and Jews have lots to fear from Muslim people and so liberals who aren't phobes or antisemetics ought to fight sharia too. But I think that if Act for America is so concerned about the gays, perhaps they might police shitheads like this out of their movement, because Christian Identity is not quite a gay-positive ethos.

What's the point of "anti-sharia"?  I'm not supporter of sharia law and it has not place here. But it seems like a way to actually have anti-Muslim protests by hiding behind an extreme "problem" that doesn't much exist widely here

My thoughts exactly.  I'm sure I would have loved him had he coached here though.  As much I disliked him, I could never argue with his success.
    RIP to The Don

I would modify this a bit and say some people 'adopt' a certain ideology because they are lazy thinkers with no critical thinking skills, have had a horrible upbringing mixed with certain genetic and environmental dispositions (this is my provocative statement of the day).
My description of this type of person happens across the whole continuum of left middle right. Then what happens, (Ted Koppel expressed this when talking with Sean Hannity), these same people are encouraged/targeted to place this adopted ideology over actual fact. Again this way of operating is not reserved for any certain type of ideology. The big however though is the trump administration, it's media outlets and it's 38% (+ or -3) support base have really committed and gone all in on this process.

Sometimes the spirit of an agreement is more important than the details and that is why the Paris Agreement in hindsight was so important.  195 countries officially agreed that climate change is a problem that needs to be addressed - that was not a small accomplishment.
The markets are changing, but without government aid (which was far smaller than what the petroleum industry was receiving) we would not have seen the acceleration towards green technology that is so evident now.

Trump wasn't elected until after they were.  Desperate times call for desperate measures.  Trump is that much of a threat to destabilizing the world.

You know I have had the opportunity to meet some people who spent the better part of the last 10 years working as political staffers in Ottawa and I won't bad mouth the jobs anymore. Some very smart hard working people who just happen to enjoy the policy work. It is definitely a real job and in some ways can be more volatile than a real job if the government of the day decides to up and cut the funding for the department you are working in.
