What do you call Lapo? Or do we have to wait until he is made HC before complaining about re-treads?

So much this. I get the rage from the fanbase every year that goes by and adds to the drought but unless we bring back a retread from the past that failed already, the new regime doesn't own those failures.
Sure, it's up to them to try to end the drought but I think it's unfair to pin past mistakes on them too.
That having been said, how come no one has asked MOS why we cut Kevin Glenn for Stefan Lefors? I demand answers!

I see, so it's Tim Brown disease. I swear there's 5 new Tim Brown's at training camps in the league every year.

Dwayne Slay.  Most popular guy on the forums of all time pretty much based on a highlight video and a cool name.  Got cut in camp.  Then for like four years people were still posting, "do you think we should bring back Dwayne Slay?"

This is the conundrum we find ourselves in. There is a quality head coach in waiting in Montreal in Noel Thorpe who plays a very aggressive style, but would we really want a rookie HC again? NO way he comes here in a lateral move, he tried that this offseason and the CFL nixed it anyways.
Who else is available to fix the D if they let Hall go too?

I distinctly remember on Derrick Smith catch where he dragged a guy for a few yards and then just threw him off and ran in for a TD. Thought that guy would stick around.
Kevin Smith was another RB we brought in from the NFL that didn't get it.
Kliff Kingsbury is an up and coming coach with Texas Tech now. Didn't Timmy Chang get arrested last year?

Mcgarrity oh how high hopes were for you. Soo let down. Kamau incompleterson too.
Loved geoff drovers hard nosed play. Thought he really showed some flashes as a DB.
Ah vann iirc from dave ritchies alma mater dropped every thing but was brought back twice.
Tee martin. after i wanna say 2.5 years when he was cut I remember him mentioning in an interview he never got the hang of 3 downs. The amount of throw aways and dump passes on 2nd down proved that. Never a fan of his, stemming from some greasy with that vols team, but hes turned into a real good coach down south and made some good money for him self. Iirc one of the big list of guys we had picked ahead of tom brady at qb.
VInny sutherland. the jet. One big catch i remember. A bunch of catch and fall down at arm tackles on returns and catches. Guy was a high pick for a returnman in the nfl then cut in tc then picked up by the 9ers had a good yards season there as a rookie then was cut and here shortly after out of football.
The classic mike quinn football drive from the nfl pre season people talked about for seemingly 10 years.
Ron warner, as a DE and at around 250 he was a stud pass rusher before going back to the nfl. Came back at like 285 and had to play DT but couldnt make any thing happen. One of those guys that adds a ton of muscle looks great but loses his step.
fred "otis" amey. Had high hopes for him. Not a tall wr or blazing speed. But a quick first step crazy long arms and big hands. Never made much of it though.
couple ill throw on the heap.
Joshua bostick. WR like 6'3 iirc. Was a machine in camp looked like a world beater. One of the first cuts in camp under ritchie to keep the vets around.
Tony ortiz. Mr.TC great resume, another guy who looked like a world beater in camp but couldnt make the club from the tub. i wanna say he was brought back atleast 3 times and to 2 camps.
Robert flash gordon. Led us in receiving in 2000. At that point one of the best possession wrs in the league. And worked great with milt. bobby gorgeous loved the moonlight. Acting in movies and playing an AFL season before coming to the cfl. after 2k we had limited funds and had to choose between wrs. We choose robert gordon over our no3 wr who had about half his yards. Bobby was a vet with a history of production. He was a great fit in the locker room. But moonlighting in the AFL got him hurt twice and he tapered off into sub jaimie stoddard levels of production. The no3 wr was geroy simon.
derreck smith. Had half a season at wr for us and looked amazing. Like 4 100 yard games in a row. Then dropped off the face of the earth.
onterrio smith. very productive nfl player who came to the blue after a steroid /whizzinator suspension in the nfl. Came in drastically over weight. We had the intention of thunder and lightning  2.0 with him and blink. He hurt his foot the first day of practise and that was it. Cancer in the locker room over weight and banged up he was done.
Adam pacman jones. Another highly productive nfl player who got into trouble. Bombers signed him and cut him for stupid stuff he said on social media before he ever suited up.
Brad banks. The qb not the returnman. Taken in the dispersal draft. He had the tool set and pedigree that screamed cfl star. And none of the play to back it up. We really banked on him developing at one time.
Kliff kingsbury. Another high resume guy with the skill set you think would dominate up here but nope.
Timmy chang. A personal favorite maligned back up qb prospect of mine. Loved watching him play in hawaii with chad owens. 50 yard bombs on every other play. Just didnt have what it took to make it up here.
Brock lesnar. Never played, but taman added him to the Neg list and when he got cut by the vikes hopes were high for about a day.

It also gives the Bombers the chance to be lazy and say... hey look what LAPO or HALL did... and then keep them around for next season as Coach eventho, perhaps they don't deserve to be.

Count me in the same boat as Mike. I've gone to similar lengths in my life. I used to watch "Fever Pitch" with potential girlfriends just to kind of explain things a little bit and say "listen, if you're not in at this level...it's not going to work". Luckily, I've found someone who gets it and is on board.
I think most would agree I'm one of the most positive on this board...one of the last to ever criticize the team or jump on any one player or coach. But I'm just done right now...emotionally exhausted. I can't keep watching all the losing. I'm an Oilers fan and a Bombers fan....it's just too much, year in and year out.
I'm coming home in a week and we'd planned on coming in from Victoria Beach (where we spend most of our holidays) to go to the game on the Wednesday night vs Hamilton, but now I'm questioning whether I want to make the drive, buy tickets, etc.....I think maybe I'll just watch it on tv at the cabin, so I can shut it off, if it's a **** show.
I don't know what the problem is, or how you fix it, but something has to be done to fix the core of the problem....when even the most diehard among us are giving up....that's a really serious problem.

I'm done with going to Bomber games.
I'm not done watching the team. I'm done making the 40 minute drive and 20 minute walk to the stadium to subject myself to the product that we're being given. I'm still going to watch religiously every single game, but I want the ability to turn this garbage off with the push of a button instead of having to travel another hour back home.
We absolutely ****ing suck. I'm sure it's a combination of things and I'm sure the blame isn't on any singular person, but this team just lacks any entertainment value whatsoever. I'm 26 years old now, I've had season tickets since 1999, when I was 9 years old and I used to have so much team spirit that I would save up birthday and Christmas money to buy my own so I could go with my dad. I didn't want my parents to buy my tickets, because I wanted to support the team myself. Sure, it was all their money anyways but that was the pride I had in being a Bomber fan, I thought at 9 years old that I could proudly support them MYSELF.
I never used to miss a game for anything. I've missed birthdays. Weddings. Parties. I've gotten in fights with girlfriends because I wanted to watch a Bomber game on TV instead of going out to a BBQ or some kind of other social function. I missed half of my high school graduation to listen to preseason football on the radio. I've driven to Calgary, Edmonton and Regina to watch games, despite it taking all the way until last year to ever see a road win. Two years ago, I went to Los Angeles during Bomber season and they were playing Hamilton (the game where McDuffie returned a TD on us) and I missed watching half of a Dodger game because I stayed in their team store until the end of the Bomber game because that was the only place in the stadium I could get consistent wifi. There are literally no ends to what I've done to expose myself to as much Bomber football as I possibly can and I really just don't give a **** anymore.
I'm tired of Mike O'Shea and his "I don't know what's going on" attitude. His post game interview last night was depressing and apparently his halftime interview with Sara Orlesky was even worse. I'm tired of no answers for anything. I'm tired of trying the same **** over and over again and expecting it to worth the 17th time when it didn't work the first 16. I'm tired of watching teams run the same plays we do for 15, 20, 30 yards when we can barely run them for 2. We've seen 7 wins in 30 tries at Investors Group Field and it's ****ing pathetic. If it's not the QB, it's the defense. If it's not the defense, it's the playcalling. If it's not the playcalling, the kicker misses. If the kicker doesn't miss, it's the QB. Whatever it is, we never put it together and I'm just so defeated watching this unentertaining product. Even 5-6 years ago, we weren't very good but we could see progress. Now? Nothing. I was talking with my dad at the last game and we were trying to recall all the good memories we've had of watching the team play at IGF. My fondest ****ing memory is the game where Jason Boltus somehow managed to throw a pass backwards and I laughed at how pathetic we were. That's the only positive memory I have of IGF. Some "so bad it's funny" bull**** that only the Bombers could pull off. That's not how I want to remember Bomber football. At Canad Inns? I remember the TD record. I remember Khari Jones instilling confidence in a fanbase that knew even if we were down going into the fourth quarter, we sure as **** had a chance to win - a good chance. I remember the Stegall 4 catch, 4 TD game. I remember the Thanksgiving comeback. I remember Swaggerville coming up into Section S to celebrate with the fans after a Eastern Final win against Hamilton when Chris Garrett ran over, around and by everything near him in the snow. Remember watching football in the snow? Not at IGF, because our lockers are cleaned out by then.
Remember when we fired Doug Berry because making the playoffs 3 years in a row but not winning a Grey Cup was unacceptable? Can you imagine making the playoffs 3 years in a row now? I'd kill for it. I can't remember the last time I actually had to pay for my playoff ticket because it's been carried over from the previous year for what? I dunno, 5 years now? Another 5 before that? Who even knows at this point. All I know is I can't subject myself to this garbage anymore. I just laugh. What else am I supposed to do? Getting mad doesn't do anything. It's not worth investing the effort. The team sure doesn't. All I know is I've gone from a fan who would've missed my mom's birthday to listen to a Bomber radio broadcast through a broken walkie talkie to a fan who literally would rather stay at home so he can go pull weeds after we get run outta the building in the first quarter. We ****ing stink. And I can't be bothered to care anymore.

    Some pressure on Reilly early......
    That sure didn't last....
Fogg gets the corner, and nice cutback on punt return..
....en route to a 90 TD....that was partially called back..
Willy then hits Kolhert up the middle for a TD...
Bombers up 10-0, in the 2nd.
....pretty well the high point, tonight.
First down production on O, really becoming a problem...
Andrew Harris runs hard....but not a lot of holes, really....
...not much of a downfield pass game, either...
Bomber O employs gimmick plays... behind the LOS....
....too bad, they don't really get back, past the LOS.....
Pretty well every guy on our OL....took a holding penalty
....they had to....in order to keep up with our special teams holds
Both teams had more flags...than UN headquarters....
Bombers D was playing bend don't break....
....aided by some turnovers and red zone stops...
...although 500 yds of Esks offense...is a lot of bend..
Posey was a busy guy, with some tough matchups....
    A. Bowman was a beast for Esks, out there...
His 60 yd circus catch between 2 Blue defenders...
    ...kick started the Edmonton O.
With Cory Watson and Walker.....big, physical group for them.
Watson TD inched Esks closer - 13 -10
....and Edmonton started to take over physically.
Reilly had enough time to pick out his beverage...and drink it.
O'Shea is getting better at the challenge/timeout thing.
    Overall, kick coverage pretty good....
The Challenge Thing is destroying the pace of games..
Bomber D forces couple of turnovers inside Esk 25
....O does absolutely nothing with it...
...including a terrible INT by Willy into triple coverage...
Esks kept moving the ball out of bad field position...
...2 drives of 70+ yds in 3rd quarter....and controling TOP
White FG makes it 13-13...felt like - the end is near.
Reilly finds Walker behind TJ Roberts for 75 yd TD
...now 20-16 for the Evil Empire
Number of people who though Blue would come back.  0.
Clock management: still not Bomber speciality...
Bombers dinking....and dinking on O, right to the end.
    K. Bass did his thing...
    Ian Wild was pretty active.....
The hitch pass is definately not a Bomber specility....
    ....neither is downfield blocking...
Willy still having major problems with timing....
....to both Dressler and Smith...not getting enough, here.
    Tale of Two Quarterbacks:
...their guy looked poised and confident....
    ....ours did not.
...their guy hit big throws down the field....
    ....ours did not.
