Cohon spent more time brown-nosing with fans than doing his job. He was a politician. He was good at disguising that he didn't do much.
Give Orridge a chance he hasn't even been in the job a year.

I would rather do away with that running around the end zone by punters or returners to kill time. I don't know why but that bothers the crap out of me.
I am not a fan of making rule changes to facilitate more/less scoring. I would much rather see changes to make sure the rules are applied fairly and without doubt.

They hire a rookie GM a rookie HC, 2 AGMs a Head Scout. And now this significantly expanded football ops needs some more help? You hire people to do a job, not bring them in and hope they then learn how to do a job. The operative word in your program is hope....hope they learn. Exactly how long is this learning curve going to last?

The people who basically demanded the government to get involved are to blame, and that includes many of the people on this and OB forum, as much as the government. I was opposed to the province funding this from the start because stadiums in Canada are generally a far larger risk than arenas like MTS. As far as I am concerned if you were all in for governments funding this then turn that finger on yourself. Everyone in Manitoba and Canada are going to be footing a big bill for this for a long time.
I hold those who built/designed it and the Bombers for much of the problems that have resulted.

He not saying MB is staying he is making the point of how some people say we need to keep Coach Hugs and Kisses and Mack Junior because we go through too many coaches and GMs. This means that no one good wants to come here. So by that logic we should keep MB.
Though it is likely too late, hire an independent consultant/assessor that analyzes this team from the BOD down to the playing field. Make moves from there. there is a sickness in this organization that permeates its way onto the playing field. Hiring another group of coaches, management and players to try their luck here is futile unless we root out the cancer that keeps Winnipeg from actually building a real CFL team.

Just because we fired coaches prematurely in the past, Berry, Lapo, that's no reason to keep O'Shea around. O'Shea hasn't been close to reaching the same success the other two did.

Job insecurity? People keep trying to repeat that again and again. In pro sports you earn job security. It is a performance based product. If you continually have a poor record how and why do you expect to keep your job?

The same people here who want Marcel Bellefeuille fired but want to keep MOS because they are concerned we go thru too many head coaches & by gosh, how can we attract good people if we keep firing them? Well then we can't fire MB. He has to come back. I mean, using the logic of some people here, if we fire MB that'll mean 3 coordinators will have been fired in 2 seasons. Just who will want to come coach here? Just what promising offensive coach will want to be the Bombers OC? No one as they know eventually get fired. The same excuse people use to keep MOS around can't demand a MB firing yet expect quality assistant coaches to come here either. So there it is, folks. It doesn't matter. But don't say we need to keep Mike but have to fire Bellefeuille.

Spencer, Elliott, Gurley, Hazelton, Walker, Burham, Tolliver and Roosevelt are all receivers who have come in this year and made a difference but Walters can't find one so we start Stoudermire yesterday.

Cato, Franklin, Jennings, Matthews and Smith all QBs who've come in this year and won a game and yet Walters trots out Brohm and Marve.

I'd go on but its depressing.

Hurl isn't quite as bad as everyone says, IMHO, but he DEFINITELY is only starting because he is in Winnipeg. He would NOT be a starter on any other team.

I was a copier rep for many years in both Winnipeg & Calgary. Worked for Minolta & Pitney Bowes. The year was divided into quarters. We had a budget per month & if we didn't meet our targets each quarter we were expected to achieve, we were fired. It was a strictly results oriented business like none I have ever experienced. The sales manager you went out for a beer with on Friday would fire you Monday if you didn't meet your targets. It was nothing personal & I'm sure there were times when a sales manager had to fire someone they truly liked but that was the business. We all knew that as reps & we accepted it. So, surely a coach like MOS knows that as it is the same for him as a CFL coach. Win or be gone. No one said to management let's keep an underachieving copier rep around because he's a nice guy.

I totally understand, Dee. If I lived in Winnipeg I would be a STH as I was one from 1974-99 before I moved to Calgary. As much as there are you that say we change things too much, we can't hang on to coaches & managers that fail to produce because we like them or that they deserve another chance. Pro sports is a results oriented business. We can't stand pat when things aren't working. The fanbase won't be happy if the only thing done is a change at the OC position.

I would have to agree with you. While I do not have to drive too far (70+ kms), I still have to make a ton of arrangements to make it to games. I have only been forced to miss one game since 2003 ( a win no less ). More often than not in the last several years it is to be rewarded with absolutely atrocious play and a loss. I have been so angry at times that I fired off an email to and talked with pr staff (nice people but but they have a script they feed you every time, I feel sorry for them having to answer for really bad coaching and management).
Like you I love the Bombers but haven't been in love with them for a while.
Making the playoffs, while in my heart I want it, I think it would be very bad for the rebuilding(?) of this team. I want them to absolutely and unequivocally be squashed, stomped and embarrassed out of the playoffs so that it might, just might mean that we finally get that much needed independent assessment of this franchise to find out what in the inner workings of this organization is so hopelessly broken that it permeates its way onto the field of play year after year. This team has mostly sucked for 25 years and that is despite having a slew of really good players and coaches pass through. I want change, lasting change. Who knows? Maybe Mack Junior and Coach Hugs and Kisses are the right pieces but I believe only an independent assessor can tell us for sure. I sure as hell do not want to try another set of coaches, players, and management on just hoping that it is the right fit.

I wonder how many of the people criticizing this guy are season ticket holders.  I can tell you it's been absolute hell being one since the 2012 season, really since the whole move to the new stadium began, and I won't be one for the first time in my adult life next season.  This guy is at least joking, he's already renewed for 2016.  There's a confluence of factors for me, but the Football Club has basically given me no reason to remain a season ticket holder beyond loving the sport of football.  I love the Bombers, but I haven't been in love with them for several years.  Making time to go to the games is a hassle at this point in my life and rarely enjoyable.
