Because our coach is an idiot.

It still astounds me that we ran for so many yards, yet had such an inept passing game, stuff like that is unheard of when the ground game is chugging along... only time that ever happens is in bad weather games usually.

Obviously it was LaPolice's fault for drawing up a play that required Nichols to throw behind Washington to work.
-
Obligatory reference to Dave Ritchie's one-rookie-one-loss rule since it was Washington that made the gaffe.
-
Best part about that throw was Streveler knew he couldn't get alot of mustard on it, so he threw it to a spot where only Adams had a play on the ball. Worst case it would've been an incomplete pass.

Most recent report available for Winnipeg shows we had 4 pedestrian fatalities in 2016 (source: https://winnipeg.ca/publicworks/trafficControl/pdf/AnnualCollisionReport_2016.pdf. - page 7). Our estimated population for that year is about 727,500, by comparison, Calgary's is much more 1,239,220 (those are just estimates from Google). Reduced speed limits won't stop accidents from happening, but it has been shown to reduce the severity of injuries. As for drivers ignoring the signs / law - a law is only as good as it is enforced.

Matt Nichols is the worst starting QB in the CFL

Kevin Glenn called the plays for the game on August 14, 2008 against the Hamilton Ti-cats which resulted in a win. (source: https://archives.winnipegfreepress.com/winnipeg-free-press/2008-08-30/page-65/). -
Crossover Standings after Week 12
Eternal optimist replied to DougR's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
While technically true, ties are really rare in the CFL. Argos have the most of any club to date with 26 ties since 1907. I would also argue its' even rarer for ties to occur in the current overtime format - they just don't happen that often. Besides, its kind of a moot point to say you're working against the point differential you lose the first game of a 3-game series...of course you are, otherwise you wouldn't have lost the first game. -

Your point about point differential only really matters against CAL ... we play 3 against both SSK and EDM, and the season series takes precedent over point differential. For those keeping track, we already have the season series against BC which should help keep us out of the basement. -
Oh I have no quarrel with the speed limits, what bothers me is their convoluted rules for enforcing them. What is the logic behind only having the zones in effect September - June? During summer, often there are even more kids playing on the play structures, seeing as how they are on summer break? If it were up to me, just a flat 30 KM/h school zone rate year-round, dawn till dusk.

In MB don't forget the cash grab on school zone speeds of 30 KM/H!.

One game, a season does not make. -
Well there's pretty much no hope of us catching Calgary in the standings, so I guess we want the Stamps to win? Looks like the Eskimos may also be regressing - a loss here means they will have dropped 3 of 4. With the lone win coming against the Als.

If there is a single Bombers' coach that is tonedeaf to the ire and vocal disapproval of fans - it is Mike O'Shea. -

I don't completely disagree with you, but Adams and our other receivers have been dropping key passes lately. As for the OL, they are good, but are currently struggling with the injury bug, I'd be concerned if Hardrick/Foketi can't go in the Banjo Bowl... I agree Streveler should get some opportunities, unfortunately it looks like O'Shea is overplaying Nichols to avoid a potential QB controversy. What I really don't understand though is how on earth were we able to post 180+ yards rushing yesterday, when the rest of the offense was so inept. With the exception of bad weather games, this is practically unheard of. It seems in recent weeks Harris has been a workhorse first half, and tired out second half. Perhaps finding a way to get Flanders on the roster would help share the load, the game really took a turn for the worse yesterday when Foketi got hurt and Harris had to sit out a few plays (shortly thereafter LaFrance fumbled and they never seemed to recover). -

I think you're underestimating the damage that could be done to Streveler... how many other promising young QBs have floundered in a Winnipeg offense, played a few games, had their teeth kicked in, then are sent packing or released? I think he's a great player, but anointing him as our starter in arguably the toughest section of our schedule, when the offense is struggling is nothing short of throwing him to the wolves. Doing so could cause serious long-term damage physically to his body, and mental damage to his psyche and confidence. -
Agreed, entertaining game yesterday but once again when the chips were down and Nichols had the opportunity to drive the field and be the hero, he not only faltered, but imploded in spectacular fashion.
-
Minor thing here - but it was actually Calgary that choked in both those GCs (2016 / 2017). When Edmonton got over the hump in 2014, they took care of business against Ottawa. If nothing else, the past few Grey Cup have proven your record means nothing... could the Bombers have won if they were in from the East? Maybe, but so could any other team put in a similar situation.

With all due respect regarding Buck calling the plays.... agree to disagree, I guess. This is quickly becoming futile.
