  1. Why would he blame the NFL and their coaches? He's already publicly stated that he could go and play in the NFL, if he wanted to. He just doesn't want to.
  2. HH to Lankford for stinking up the place more than his usual self. Maybe, just maybe, this will finally be enough to get his sorry butt kicked to the curb and give some of our other backups a chance to shine.
  3. The sky isn't falling people; here's how I see it: Calgary - No CFL has gone undefeated in the current 18-game format. The big advantage here is our home game against them is in Week 19. Assuming the Stamps keep up their torrid pace, they might've already locked up first at this point, which could mean an easy win for the Bombers if they rest their regular starters. If they somehow are unbeaten still at that point - you don't think the Bombers would be frothing at the mouth to hand them their first loss of the season? Edmonton - we only lost by 3 with Streveler at the helm, I think we come out ahead in two of three phases (defense / special teams, though EDM D also looks awful). A split here is reasonable. Saskatchewan - Even with a stronger D for Sask - I think we still come out ahead in the other two phases (offense / special teams), also two of these are at home, which should help the Blue and Gold here. Also - a SSK win tonight might mean they think they are world beaters heading into the back-to-back against us. Ottawa - I would argue our team was fat and happy on Friday night and underestimated Ottawa. The end result was a blowout, but remember that up until the 3rd quarter, we had kept it close before a major defensive breakdown. Nichols' fumble was the straw that broke the camel's back, as even at that point they were driving and it was still a two-possession game (score was 30-14 at that point). Montreal - The general consensus here is this game is a bingo space for us. So a win against OTT, EDM, one against SSK and against MTL gives us 4...meaning 9-9. Win the season series against SSK and beat up CAL's backups in week 19 gives us 6, making us 11-7.
  4. Agreed. Personally, I think whoever wins that season series goes to the post-season.
  5. Way to go TSN - listing the EDM/MTL game as final with over 8 minutes left. You dolts, this is why people consider CFL a bush league.
  6. No see, that's my point.
  7. > Too many deep shots resulting in 2-and-outs. > Not taking enough deep shots to stretch the D. Pick one?
  8. I know hindsight is 20/20, but to think BC ended up trading Reilly to the Esk's for draft picks that materialized into Seydou Junior Haidara and Tchissakid Player back in 2013...
  9. I understand all turnovers are reviewed, but man, these refs have to make announcements when something is under review, even if it is automatic. To some casual fans in attendance, this just looks like the refs are standing around for no apparent reason. Even if they just said "the previous play is automatically under review by the command center" would be warranted.
  10. RE: Alouettes offense YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY!
  11. How is he even allowed on the field in that situation? Isn't that the equivalent of not wearing your helmet or improper use of equipment?
  12. Why the short kick there? Maas with an O'Shea-style blunder.
  13. Best described as comfortably numb.
  14. Our Bombers D is one for the record books.... Ottawa broke the record for most successful 2 point conversions in a single game (4) last night. So, there's that.
  15. Ye have little faith!
  16. Snowball's chance for the Al's but maybe if their D shows up? Considering the spanking we just took from Ottawa, maybe the Al's D (which lost 17-24 last week) is better than they are getting credit for? Or perhaps our D is just terrible and the Al's were fortuitous last week.
  17. How to lose a football game: A BC Lions story.
  18. I was booing the outrageous beer prices. Just happened to coincide in terms of timing.
  19. I would say the chances of making the playoffs are pretty good, since 6 of 9 teams make the playoffs, and Montreal and Toronto both look awful... we just need one of BC or Saskatchewan to crash and burn and we'd be in. As for the Grey Cup, anything can happen if you get there. The last two years the champion has had a .500 or worse record. Unfortunately, we're in the West, so we would likely have to go through Calgary or Edmonton to get there. We could sneak in through the East via a cross-over, but historically speaking, no crossover team has ever won a Grey Cup.
  20. I'm just saying we sometimes have a pretty impatient fan base, especially at the QB position. Streveler had a one good game early in the year, and you still hear people call in on CJOB asking why we don't go to him more often. To clarify - I'm not saying that we have a QB controversy (or that Streveler should be starting - this is Nichols' team), just that I think O'Shea hears those call-ins and might be more hesitant to play him than he should be.
  21. They sit Streveller a lot to prevent a QB controversy. I'm not saying it is right, just that it appears that is the logic they've used. As for LeFevour - he never had much of an arm to begin with.
  22. Anyone else think this is related to LaPolice shying away from the no-huddle offense?
  23. Yeah, that's kind of my point - not only did he challenge a meaningless play, even if it was overturned, it would've given us - what? 7 yards, maybe? It would've kept that drive alive, but it was grasping at straws early in the game, and handcuffed them for the rest of the game. Would've been nice to challenge that phantom PI call for Ottawa.
  24. I don't think this is worth its' own thread... but can we please also talk about his absolutely wasted challenge?
  25. Mathematically speaking, as long as you are above 50% conversion on 2 pointers, you should go for every single one of them, however conventional game theory does not translate well into football game theory. You could easily argue that O'Shea thought his D would stop at least 50% of the conversion attempts, thus causing a break-even scenario. At the end of the day here though - the much bigger concern isn't that we weren't going for 2, it's that Ottawa was able to go 4/4 on 2 point conversions.
