Doug Brown isn't just the best DT of his generation, he's arguably the best DT of all time, any nationality.
-
The old football fan rule is that the most popular guy on the team is the backup quarterback, but it seems like on MBB the most popular guy is the monster DT or NT.
-
The upgrade from Jake to Jake is almost unbelievable....
....thoughts and prayers for health across our roster, but for Ceresna in particular. He's had some recent injury trouble but hopefully will be free and clear all year.

wbbfan got a reaction from Noeller in Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion ThreadHes a brilliant pick up for us. Especially next to lawson. We need another guy inside to rotate, but the interior is gonna be beastly. That will for sure make it much easier for the edge guys to excel.

lol the first one in the early 90's. Mike said they were bouncing checks on the coaching staff (amongst other things) so he called up one of his contacts down south and eventually started scouting for the Chiefs.

wbbfan got a reaction from rebusrankin in Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion ThreadWhich glieberman era? lol
Yeah, I was excited to see more of him. We certainly need to keep getting after DL to bring in for camp now.
We've got 6 end only guys on the roster, 4 of whom are under 250 lbs an by a decent margin under. We also have 1-2 guys are are possible edge/3t tweeners.
Dixon is a guy to watch at edge, he played a couple games in the NFL and stuck around the pr down there for 2 years. And we still have jenkins who got into the same game last year and was solid.
Other wise, we are not only thin on the edge, we are green. Really don't want to see Ayers as the DE again

Crusty Cal was born in 1932 so if he did have children involved in football at the CFL level, we'd have seen them 30 or more years ago.

Those of us old-timers around here remember the Ray Jauch era for the Bombers in the period 1978-1982 - which was special for me as that was when I really started following Bombers in elementary school, so though I have vague memories of Bud Riley, it was Ray Jauch who was the first coach I ever really remember. The Bombers had moderate success in those days with Dieter as QB but of course we always ended up against the Eskimos so it was hard to break through that wall. Good to see the next generation of Bomber family continuing the tradition. Does Cal Murphy have any kids we could hire? Cal will always be my favorite coach/GM.

Yeah totally sucks - my mom's maiden name is Jaworska (female version of Jaworski) and I was hoping he would become a starter so I could get her a jersey, as I know she would have loved it. Oh well.

wbbfan reacted to Goalie in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadNow when Canadians are as patriotic as they have ever been would be a good time for a fun marketing campaign regarding the CFL.
Lego video of cfl teams. Man they missing the boat here. I can see the commercial I just can’t put it together and trust me the kids would love it. Now is the time with I AM CANADIAN actually mattering again. Heck have that dude narrate it. I’m unsure but use people like beiber and reynolds and gosling to promote it even. Gosling is like the most popular actor around. He’s a ******* Canadian. Use him.
Change rules or whatever else, that’s a fun original XFL gimmick but you gotta promote the damn league.

wbbfan reacted to Stickem in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadThese changes are 'experimental' at best...Only implementing them and a close examination of how things progressed or regressed will give the true picture of success or failure....I'm sure after the 27' season, changes can be made yet again ...The changes that are going to be under scrutiny and deemed to be 'failing' will either be altered or discarded ...Seems to me we will be entering a new phase in CFL operations ..Successful or not fans will have to get used to adjusting to these changes ....I've been around the league for a long time and found that 'major change' is very hard to accept for some.... I'm predicting this may very will be a 'make it' or 'break it' for the league.... time will tell...I just hope to hell the powers that be no what they're doing

wbbfan reacted to Mark H. in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadI agree with starting in May and having the playoff games earlier. I've been of that opinion for years.
But playing 18 games to eliminate 1 team from the playoffs, just makes no sense whatsoever.
The burning issue is those cities where hardly anyone attends games. 8 teams in the play offs does nothing to address that.

wbbfan reacted to SpeedFlex27 in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadWe're the fans the CFL already has & will never lose. They need the 18-35 demographic. Maybe they'll get it.

wbbfan got a reaction from HardCoreBlue in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Threadthe idea would be higher scoring, more dynamic offensive based games at a faster pace.
No actual proof, other than how it’s worked for mlb, and that what the league has done over the past two-three decades has only eroded the success and fan base league wide.
I’m trying to look at it from a none hard core fan perspective and wondering if the potential is there.

wbbfan reacted to Noeller in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadThis is the key. Nobody on this board is the target demo because they've already got us for life (bastards...) But how do you get more of the passive fans on board? The guys who kinda watch CFL but mostly watch NFL...? Try some weird **** and see how it goes.

wbbfan got a reaction from Bigblue204 in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season ThreadI was thinking about how mlb had rocketed up the viewer rankings and dropped their main demographic by about 15 years with the changes in recent years. Do any of the new CFL changes have that kind of chance?
I’m not a fan of most of the changes. Couple good ones here and there. I was only in favor of maybe half of the mlb changes but they have worked out better than any one would’ve believed.
Maybe if they accomplished the goal and have less fgs more going for it on 3rd down and scoring more tds, it could have the same kind of impact.
I really struggle to see most of these changes panning out. But it would be great to be wrong and see the cfl do a fraction of the job mlb has done.

wbbfan got a reaction from Noeller in 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Threadagree 100%. the league needs to be ready to adjust fast out of these changes and pivot. I very much worry that they won’t, but if they do maybe they can make some thing positive out of all this.
