  1. https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/trump-capitol-hill-violence-riot-1.5870070 He is so utterly detached from reality it's terrifying. A textbook malignant narcissist sociopath: https://www.verywellmind.com/understanding-the-narcissistic-sociopath-4587611 Donald Trump is batting 1.000 at being a complete piece of human garbage.

  3. Navdeep Bains steps down, Trudeau to shuffle cabinet: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-cabinet-shuffle-small-1.5869679 Nice to see Mr. Carr back at work.
  4. But wait! There's more: Three years after signing a $49M NHL contract, he's in this situation. Unbelievable idiocy.
  5. Heavy projection from the soon-to-be former Secretary of State. Good riddance to this plug.
  6. It's a cult. There's no other descriptor. The MAGAt Brigade is a full-blown cult.
  7. The same can be said for any team, though. Injuries can't be predicted and team chemistry is a fragile thing to achieve. I feel the latter is going to be exacerbated early on this season due to no pre-season and that'll be something every team has to manage. And all it takes is a bad stretch of games for any team to tumble down the standings, especially in a shortened season.

  9. It's basically a repeat of a year* ago going into the 2019-20 season from all the "experts" out there and I'd say they exceeded those low expectations. FWIW, the Jets were 9-3-0 last season vs. other Canadian teams (IIRC - please correct me if that record is incorrect). I think they'll be in the thick of it for a playoff spot, especially if Hellebuyck carries over his monster play between the pipes. The top 6 is solid with the re-addition of Stastny (sure, he's older but still more than capable at 2C), Laine probably having a chip on his shoulder in his final bridge year, and Connor maybe using his "demotion" to the second line as motivation to round out his two-way game. Ehlers and Wheeler centering Scheifele should be fun to watch, IMO. And even with marginally better defensive zone play and a somewhat improved blue line, this team should be better. Let 'em sleep on the Jets. Hopefully, they'll come out strong and slap their opponents in the mouth and set the tone.
  10. I gotta say, that 10th season logo at centre ice is pretty awesome!
  11. Pretty incredible how you'd make an inane rebuttal like this after telling someone else they eat paint chips. What group of people don't exist? And whether you want to accept reality or not, the "drama" in the US affects all of us. Just because there are other issues happening right now doesn't change that, so your whataboutism bullshit accomplishes nothing here. It is possible to be concerned about the state of another country, our closest and most important neighbour, and how its political landscape is adversely affecting ours, as well being concerned by what the ongoing pandemic is doing locally. If this thread is bad as you purport it to be, maybe don't participate. Seems like an easy solution.
  12. Aged like fine milk. It's hilarious to see you post your shite commentary in this sub-forum. Never a valid point, never a logical argument; just ignorant conjecture and always some petulant, unoriginal dig at the end. In case you've been living under a rock (more likely a bridge) lately, there were at least four pro-Trump rallies here in Canada last week - the same day a bunch of brainwashed, seditious asshats stormed a federal gov't building in DC. That alone should be cause for concern, which is to say nothing about Canadians who show their support on social media for Trump and/or spread misinformation and conspiracy theories about the 2020 election, or the Canadian politicians who do the same. MAGAt wannabes who claim to be proud Canadians are a stain on this country. Because it speaks to how ignorant and detached from reality they are. Trumpism couldn't care less about Canada, regardless of the idiots in this country who waste their money on a MAGA hat or a Trump2020 flag. To that end, it's proof that harmful Murican-style politics have bled into our country - and that's a problem. Fortunately, the handful of posters on here who used to defend Trump and his dogshit presidency haven't been for ages - good riddance. All they did was derail threads with their content, anyway. I'm going to say this as respectfully as I can: next time you want to engage in a thread such as this one, maybe try putting some critical thinking to use. Use your brain and be part of constructive, worthwhile discussion. It's not difficult to do.
  13. Then we have this local hypocrite: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/senate-travel-plett-mexico-1.5866272 How dumb do you have to be to sign on such a directive and then violate it nine months later? (rhetorical question)
  14. Oh, look... More projection from the alt-right. ******* knuckle-draggers. The real O'Toole needs to nut up and get his **** together. Letting MAGAt wannabes run his party is a really bad look.
  15. I'm not sure if the real extremists even care. They're pretty much radicalized and based on the psychotic rhetoric on social media garbage dumps like Parler and the like, I think the US needs to be more vigilant than ever of this threat. I have to think they look at what happened on Wednesday as a failed mission and now it could be time to double down and "save America" from the opponents they've fabricated. When you consider the fact pipe bombs and other devices have been discovered in and around the Capitol Building, it's a terrifying thought to see the lengths to which these seditious crazies are willing to go. And even if Trump goes along with the transition of power, he could wind up like other GOP members and be labeled a traitor, only tempering their resolve and willingness to escalate things. This is on the verge of full blown terrorism. Trump opened a pandora's box of sorts in 2015 and did nothing but throw fuel on that fire in the years since. Closing it is probably impossible.
  16. Speaking of MAGAt wannabe clowns: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/candice-bergen-maga-hat-1.5865727 She is a disgrace to this country.
  17. This. Which is to say nothing about trash outlets like OAN, Breitbart, and Newsmax.
  18. Walker would've been a really nice addition here. The EE look to be loading up - and I don't like that.
  19. I doubt that ever happens. I don't think the CFL is profitable enough (if at all) to attract the attention of TNSE or its ownership group.
