  1. It's like the Three Stooge Premiers here in the prairies lately. Buncha goddamn assclowns completely out of touch with reality.

  3. Well, this statement is BS. Canada doesn't have the infrastructure to be "oil independent" regardless of where the product goes. (this is not dissimilar to Canada's current vaccine dilemma, either) And before you piss and moan about Trudeau singlehandedly destroying Alberta's petroleum and gas industry again, rewind to 2014. That's when oil prices worldwide began to decline markedly and Alberta wasn't immune to that. This was roughly a year before Trudeau became PM. https://bta.ca/global-collapse-of-oil-prices/ https://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/industry-news/energy-and-resources/in-alberta-anxiety-grows-over-declining-oil-prices/article21122662/ https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/alberta/low-oil-prices-will-punch-huge-hole-in-alberta-budget-prentice-says/article22015643/ https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/alberta-and-the-oil-crash-1-year-later-1.3126945
  4. This is the same "challenge" every playoff team will face this season with the intradivisional only format this season. It adds an interesting wrinkle to the playoffs. That third period on Saturday by the Jets was damn near a masterpiece of 200 ft. hockey. If they can play like that more consistently, they're in a fine spot to potentially win that North Division banner. Also: the Leafs lost again yesterday. LOL
  5. I think +/- is an incomplete way to evaluate players and doesn't take into account the full scope of how a team plays. Beaulieu led the Jets in that stat last season but doesn't translate to him being anything more than a 5-6 defenseman; maybe 4 depending on the situation. Morrissey and DeMelo are both struggling this season but that speaks more to a team problem than an individual player one, IMO. Team defense is not a strength of this team the last two seasons, which in turn puts the blue line in bad situations more often than not, particularly when a forward line doesn't pick up the slack. Pionk has been a bright spot, which is great for him and the team. The Jets are in the bottom 10 in both SOG allowed (9th - 796) and HDSC allowed (9th - 87) at even strength. Fortunately, Hellebuyck bails them out consistently and the team's power play is good enough to make up the difference when the opportunity arises. I think Hyman's first goal is a microcosm of what ails this team all too often at times: a glaring lack of a consistent, strong two-way game. When the Jets are without the puck, there seems to be a tendency to not focus on defensive responsibilities from the forward lines.
  6. https://3downnation.com/2021/03/10/wade-miller-says-potential-xfl-partnership-is-not-due-to-cfls-financial-struggles/ I think the only way this "plan" works without massive outrage from CFL fans is by keeping the institution of Canadian football intact. The idea of sharing resources makes sense from a partnership standpoint but the fabric of our game cannot be compromised in doing so. I know it's early, as Miller says, but I have no idea what to make of this right now. It's unsettling as hell, though. The CFL is in a rough spot right now.
  7. It doesn't sound like the Sharks organization will void his contract unless Kane's bankruptcy goes from Chapter 7 to Chapter 11 (which is typically used for business bankruptcies). I have no idea how that could be done but the possibility is being considered by creditors to whom he owes money. https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2130714 https://www.canb.uscourts.gov/faq/general-bankruptcy/what-difference-between-bankruptcy-cases-filed-under-chapters-7-11-12-and-13 Should be interesting to see how this plays out for Kane (and the Sharks), as it could set a precedent in the future for athletes with financial troubles.
  8. No, that's not what I'm suggesting. What a dumb question.
  9. He and Ehlers both coasted through the neutral zone on that sequence, basically giving Hyman the lane to make the scoring play. Beaulieu hasn't been good lately but not a single forward on the ice for that goal last night bothered to play two-way hockey.
  10. They've literally become everything they claim to hate.
  11. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/jets-defenceman-nathan-beaulieu-weeks-upper-body-injury/ Time for the armchair coaches/GMs to find a new whipping boy should the Jets struggle or lose a game.
  12. If it means growing the sport itself, fine. But that's it. No four down football in Canada. No merger or expansion into the US. None of that shite. Keep Canadian football ******* Canadian.
  13. Massive bounceback win. Hellebuyck FTGDW in the final five or so minutes.
  14. Having objective discussion about the Roughriders on this forum...?

  16. https://globalnews.ca/news/7684024/winnipeg-jets-reset-series-toronto-maple-leafs/ After the collective bed-shitting on Saturday night, a solid bounce-back is the least I expect from them. This is a big three-game stretch coming up.

  22. These repetitive comments continue to be absolute trash. Clueless, petulant, ignorant trash. Hellebuyck carried this team in 2019-20 after the off-season decimation of the Jets' blue line, posting a .922 SV% and 6 shutouts. He then went on to win the Vezina, which was his second nomination in three years. You should probably just **** off now. Oh, and you're fooling nobody here, BTW. Same exact username, and the same exact basic English spelling errors (it's too, not to) as on the other forum.
  23. This is such a garbage take. Hellebuyck has a .917 SV% in 27 playoff games. Again: what a garbage take.
