I have a lot of respect for Sinclair

I have a lot of respect for Sinclair (he was the judge assigned to the baby deaths inquest that my mom was involved in and I actually dated a relation of his years ago).  But he's out to lunch here.  Comes across very biased.  Because I dont think his opinion would be the same if these instances were about Pallister.

The desire to sweep this stuff under the rug is a major issue in the Aboriginal community and its sad to see someone of Sinclair's status supporting that.  The changed man routine is all fine and dandy but Wab is lying TODAY.  He also lied in his book which just came out a couple of years ago.  In fact, he heavly implied in his book that several of his relationships ended due to "arguing", "fighting" and his "anger".

Wab could be Premier of Manitoba.  This is all fair game because of his own deeds and words.  This poor woman is being re-victimized and Wab calling her a liar and the NDP, the party that supports women endorsing that position is deplorable.

Don't seem to recall Murray calling the media dogging Pallister on his time in Costa Rica a witch hunt. They made a way bigger deal out of that than they are with Wab, even though going on vacation pales in comparison to lying about multiple assaults.

How do you figure Gord looks bad?  What looks bad is how the mainstream media ignored it until the "citizen journalist" blog types pushed the issues.  Wab saying his victim is a liar makes it relevant.  Wab downplaying (or out and out lying) about the assault on a cabbie makes it relevant.  Wab's demands for other public servants to step down for personal issues makes his own relevant.

Gord seems to be hounding her pretty aggressively. I think she just wanted to say her piece, have her side of the story heard, and move on. I have no problem with Wab being put under the microscope, but she went into hiding for a reason...

He held her over the  edge of an 18th floor balcony. He stole $500 from her. Among the other allegations. She felt his call to warn her of the story a few weeks ago was an attempt to intimidate.

It’s about time for Wab to resign.

Gord's doing a good job of making both Wab and himself look like tools with this kind of 'reporting'...

What a winner they voted leader...

So he lied about the assault charge.  Par for the course.  Also made racial insults towards a cab driver.  So he's a racist too.  Fortunately, his parents convinced a court to let get back on the "traditional" path.

It's amazing what people will tolerate from people in their party of choice if they think it will help them defeat their opponents.

As much as you want to believe a person can genuinely change, it's pretty difficult in Wab's case to see past the opportunism that came from going from a mysoginistic and homophobic rapper/radio host, to a 'director' at a university and authoring a feel-good book, to running for office.

I don't think his past should preclude him from future success, but if you want to be in the public spotlight, you'd better be honest about those skeletons in the closet.

  5. I don't care that much about multi-camera versus single-camera, but if you're still putting laugh tracks in your show, it's going to be a really, really hard sell to get me to watch it. The only show I watch right now that still uses them is the Big Bang Theory. I tried watching Disjointed with Kathy Bates because the premise sounded interesting, but only lasted about three minutes because the fake laughter was so overused and the jokes were so forced.

  6. I really don't get the obsession with spending a bunch of money to have the latest phone with features that are only slightly better than the last version.

I replaced my three year old BlackBerry Z30 a few weeks ago, and battery life was the number one feature I was looking for in a new phone. My new LG X Power 2 lasts 4 to 5 days on a single charge and I love it. Who cares if the camera is a few megapixels lower in resolution than the latest iPhone or Samsung.

From Wikipedia he also hasn't played in many games since 2013 and I wonder if that could be due to his ACL injury causing him to have possibly lost a step?

In the Rams' third preseason game, he had two tackles, a sack, a tackle for a loss, and recovered a fumble. I'd be willing to give him a chance to prove himself in the CFL.

Santa Anna's on the corner of St Mary's and Vista is my favourite... a hidden gem I love, if you happen to be in Altona there's a little joint called Pizza Haven, it's quite good...

Probably not the best in the city but I really love going to ZA Pizza Bistro...if you haven't been there, it's basically a "subway-style" pizza where you pay $12ish and you pick the crust/sauce/toppings... and everything is unlimited... the only drawback is is the wait time... if there's a line up, expect to be waiting at least 30 mins from the time you walk in to the time you leave with your pizza...

You must live near St. Vital mall too. Those were the two places I mentioned three posts earlier.

The ZA pizza in cityplace has their system moving pretty good.  Big lineup there at lunch every day but the wait time is reasonable.

Another good hidden gem is "Back at the Ranch" in Oakbank.  The crust is kinda weird, like a pie crust, but it is very good pizza.

One of the best things ZA has going for them is the availability of goat cheese. Game changer.

I think most clubs have decided that there are two reasons not to spend money on half time shows.  First, it really doesn't do much for attendance if you don't spend the money on a band with significant draw - who is spending the coin on a ticket to hear a 10 minute concert on a makeshift stage.  The second reason is that you want everyone to get up and spend money on concessions.

Super dogs are the way to go for every half time. Watching dogs jump over stuff and catch frisbees is ten times more entertaining than some band with terrible sound in an inappropriately-sized venue.
