  3. why do I have a feeling that even if they do recover from this they're going to discontinue Endless Shrimp
  4. Dominant players do not play on the 3rd line in hockey. Role players/ depth players are good to have but cannot get paid the same as 1st liners. Role players and depth players are also significantly easier to find then all-stars.
  5. Get them soon, Red Lobster may be filing for bankruptcy any day now from losing money on the endless shrimp promotion. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/food-and-drink/red-lobster-bankruptcy-shrimp-promotion-b2539356.html
  6. Drummond played parts of 8 seasons and was a primary back for the Argos in 2 seasons, Lions in 1. Otherwise shared the backfield. Not a CFL HOFer.
  7. I'd rather have Schoen and Lawler than Schoen OR Lawler and Bailey. Talent level is much higher than it would be if we kept the slightly above average vets.
  8. We played with out 2/3s of those guys for more than half of the last two plus years. That significantly reduced any possible drop off. The portion of baileys touches that go to lawler demski Schoen or Brady will immediately be an improvement as well. we had bigger production games from guys who aren’t here any more than were had from Bailey. Talent level of replacement players is never the problem with imports. Bailey was deservedly loved but was a role player, an easily filled role at that. One normally filled by nis. Grant was a great role player but we don’t need the most dangerous return man in the league with our offence. We just need a capable one. And the amount of snaps jj played the last few years he was really a role player at a stars salary. I expect us to be more consistent by ld and better off from moving on. Same with moving on from yoshi. This is how contenders stay on top and improve. How many times did the stamps lose key fas here or to the NFL and then find the next guy?
  9. It’s not like hockey, you need that across the board in football. I also have no concern about us finding that in their replacements. No matter the performance of their replacements don’t bring it they’ll be cut.

  11. Red Lobster has Hush Puppies as a side menu item for a limited time.....I tried them and they were kind of unremarkable I mean I'm glad I tried them but I don't think I would order something like that again
  12. It's the effort and performance of underdog players like Bailey and Woli that help put and keep a team on top of the standings, the more quality players of this caliber a team has the better the results. Consider it the equivalent of having a solid 3rd line in hockey.
  13. Didn't say Bailey deserved "big money" but paying the man fairly for his under-appreciated service always seemed like the right thing to do. In all 3 cases I think we can expect the replacements to be downgrades in ability as they have nobody in house that is their obvious equivalent, so the plan to get better in these 3 positions is based solely on bringing in new/unproven players that can somehow match or exceed the performance of league standouts, always possible but highly unlikely. In the end I predict the overall skill level will be downgraded from what it was previously, players that earned the big raises were in place already, so that counts as more money spent with no upgrade in talent or performance level. The lost players will make a noticeable difference, gone not due to declining performance as it should be, but due to poor overall salary management. .
  14. From what I heard about JJ. It was Winnipeg or bust outside of a huge offer from another club. Same with Grey. Grant, I understand both sides....the club doesn't want to invest in a guy who hasn't stayed healthy on limited touches for a few years now and Grant isn't getting any younger and likely wants a decent payday.
  15. Bailey was not a dominant player, he was a solid and reliable guy but never a guy that I'd think would be a hall of famer. Jeffcoat is several years past his prime and on a downturn with his injuries. Far from dominant on a consistent basis. Grant is a dominant returner and he will be missed.
  16. The Stove was unplugged because of torn achillies injuries....He was never coming back.....
  17. Right on Bailey and Grant but I think Jeffcoat was also a victim of the injury bug.....he just couldn't stay healthy...Bailey found work, I doubt that's going to be the case for the other two....
  18. Not the whole story there. Bailey found a spot; Grant was likely a victim of both his injury history, lack of versatility, and the incoming changes to kick returns. Jeffcoat seems to have quit to a certain extent. Sounded like he got so frustrated he just walked away. I’m sure a team would have had a spot for him if he wanted to make it happen.
  19. Grant and jj got moved on from because they couldn’t stay healthy. Bailey was good but you can’t pay a role wr big money. We already have soo much tied up in demski lawler and schoen we just can’t afford another premium salary wr.
  20. He was on the injured list all of the 2022 season, released before the 2023 season and now moved to the retired list so it seemsit might be a bit different than past situations. If he was still trying to make a comeback, they could have used one of the first two methods.
  21. But nearly $800 to fly from Calgary to Victoria.
  22. Eight seasons isn't longevity? Man JBR, that's cutting it really thin as a reason for keeping Drummond out of the CFHOF saying he lacked longevity when the average football career isn't even 4 years. How many years did Dressler & Goldsmith play?? Goldsmith played ten seasons from 1981-90 & Dressler played 11 seasons from 2008-18 but missed 25 games with injuries from 2014-18. So, he missed a season & a half which is the equivalent of 9 1/2 seasons & not 11. You look at the stats & championships. It's there for all to see. Drummond had 10,790 all purpose yards. Broken down that's 6,706 yds rushing with 60 TDs & 4,033 yards receiving with 18 TDs. He had another 51 yards returning kicks for zero touchdowns. That's 78 total touchdowns along with 4 Grey Cup rings. Just incredible stats. I remember Drummond as a monster. If he didn't kill teams as a runner then he killed them as a receiver. He dominated games as a player. If there was a knock on Drummond, he played very little Special Teams. Dickenson may have won the CFL's MOP award in 2000 but Drummond won the 2000 Grey Cup MOP Award. ,
  23. Pretty upsetting when dominant performers like Grant, Bailey and Jeffcoat are given up on mainly because there's no money leftover to pay them close to what they deserve.
  24. streaming is great but it won't change the league what will is the on field product changing the 4th Q lead 3 or 4 times is what our game is all about; that requires high level QB-ing
