Brown is also getting a fraction the support in offence Alexander is. If you swapped places I think brown would look insane and while Alexander would run for more yards he’d struggle more. But at that, it’s great to finally see the next crop of young QBs stepping up in the league. Brown and Alexander are well above rourke imo in every thing but hype. But still that’s the best 3 young starting QBs we’ve seen in the league in a long time.

Yup, that was his 50th game as a CFL HC... If he hasn't figured it out yet, I don't think he's going to.

We were talking about Dru Brown's Thursday night performance yesterday before the Als game. Compared to Davis Alexander, you can see Brown's deficiencies as a qb. Even healthy, he can't run. He also has a hard time avoiding the rush from the pocket. Yeah, he's accurate for sure & made some nice throws but he just seems to be missing something. Like the Big Play when the RedBlacks need it. Brown put up huge numbers inside the 20's but when he had to score to win, he couldn't. Alexander meanwhile is athletic, something Brown doesn't seem to be. I remember that one play when Alexander was flushed out of the pocket & took off with the ball & showed great speed to pick up the first down. Just a terrific play.

I think he will have a job up here as long as he wants. Be it scouting/player development, or one of many position coaching spots. He might just not be cut out of be a hc though. Having him as a position coach like wr, and an extra scout in the off season, while being able to assist a CO, is one of the best values you could want under the coaching cap.
-
He'd be hired as a STC somewhere in the CFL. He'd land on his feet.
-
He first broke into head coaching in 2015 as the interim hc of ssk. He’s been the rbs hc since 22. Two full seasons plus almost a half. We are way way past learning quickly on the job. I love bobby dyce. Great football mind, excellent talent evaluator, tremendous guy. He’s been coaching in the league for 22 years and he’s already 2.5 into this hc job. The leash is gonna be real short on him, and if it doesn’t work out he doesn’t likely get another hc shot short of some thing miraculous.
-
Lots of nice guy head coaches get fired. He's Canadian with experience & is a competent STC so even if he's fired he'd get on a staff somewhere.
-
You may be right but I hope you’re wrong. BD is just a guy who is so easy to cheer for. I just hope he ends up where he best contributes.
-
Learn quickly? Dyce has had all kinds of time. He's a STC not a HC. What's going to save him is he's in the first year of probably a 3 year deal. Why they reupped him is a good question.

Ottawa's secondary was 100% bad last year, and this year too. Might not be personnel.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

A little off -topic but...Has anyone driven on Abinoji east and then tried to get onto Pembina going south towards the stadium?? If not, you're in for an adventure in frustration at all the construction awaiting you on Pembina. The Pembina bridge roadway is torn up, pylons everywhere, and several lanes are closed. Thinking maybe the south Perimeter to avoid this?? construction east of the red river bridge and lane closures both directions. -

hello, let me introduce you to TBurg....

100% turnover in the secondary from last season might not be the way to go.
-
This kid Alexander looked pretty good....laser type passing and he can run...what's not to like....On the other hand the real Arbuckle showed up ....you know the one who beat us in the Cup....Bluto is now gone into a depression of sorts, with the thought that Arbuckle might have to suit up again, if Kelly is still out....and that they may have bigger problems on the club than their missing starter
