  2. Santa Ana is one of the better places in town. They also have really good pasta.
  3. Santa Ana is excellent.
  4. Tommy's is good too. Really like their Detroit style when its available.
  5. The guys willing to come up now are more the guys who didn't make it through mini-camp or have been in NFL camps previous years and are no longer getting looks. The cuts this summer won't be up here until next season at the earliest. 4 weeks on a NFL practice roster = same salary for rookie Americans playing 18 CFL games. They aren't in a hurry.
  6. Even guys here on pr aren't gonna show you anything unless they get to play...nothing about practice will be a big reveal either..they need to see game reps
  7. Today
  8. You can airlift guys, but you really have to dig through a bunch at one position to find a gem, and you have to be willing to play them. Cycling guys on the PR won't yield any players this year. You are right that the nfl air lifts after TC cuts is not what it used to be. We make even less of it than we could, though.
  9. I bet Julian Feoli-Gudino is pretty healthy...
  10. I was low-key worried they would sit Rando for Lofton because of last year and his rookie year. So I'm pleasantly surprised they kept the much better T on the roster. Lofton is a solid guy to have on the PR as well, especially while Venterpool is hurt. Because he's average at RT, a body at LT, and a good guard, once Vanterpool is back to 100% though, I'd rather see an NFL cut young T with upside brought in to groom on the PR. Its odd though, they can look at guys like Rando, Lofton, Vanterpool, and Wallace, then make good roster decisions on the OL. But look at Kola, who can't even reliably snap the ball this year, and continues to make bad decisions. Idk how you justify that internally as a coaching staff and to the players. Roster is solid. Would've liked to see Ball come off instead of Cobb, though. Dropping an IMP Lber for Woods would've been huge with Lawson hurt. A DI wr would be nice. but we don't have any one other than the fresh rookie, and we wouldn't use them in the O any way. last week we saw a good chunk of Kelly deep in the dime package. I wonder if we will see vaval get some of those dime/wil snaps. Be nice to see Shay/Smith get some of those. Maybe if Bonds continues to stink, he will be the next DB to "go down" / get pulled for vaval.
  11. Is NFL cutdown even a viable option to airlift guys in anymore? Since they expanded their PR’s down south a number of years ago you don’t really see guys come up here misdseason and make an impact. Save an already established CFL guy like Wilson, most NFL fringe players will wait out the season waiting to get called when someone gets hurt. It’s the guys who wait out the year and don’t get signed in the NFL by the next draft who seem to come up now.
  12. What Rory Kolhert doing?
  13. Some guys can be shuttled now in all honesty After 8 games..I guess back ups...6 game em...I guess eating some salary is our punishment for bringing them back 😆
  14. NFL cutdown and guys coming in doesn't really exist anymore
  15. Seriously somebody actually tweeted that Calgary having VA+Philpott+Barnes is a huge boost? What's his next scoop, water is wet?
  16. I dont mind sending guys packing but we are on the hook for their full salaries if they are vets. If we shuttle out vets we may not have the money to play a new face. The only guys we can shuttle out without impact to the SMS are rookies. I believe after game 8 all veteran contracts are guaranteed for the rest of the year. If we shuttle out, for instance, a Jake Thomas we have to pay him his full salary against the SMS. That limits how much you can do really because new guys get game cheques too. Some budget is left for that for sure in every SMS, but not blow up the roster mid season money. I would rather we take that SMS wiggle room we have and Walters be active in NFL cut down.
  17. Trans Canada pizza is decent and has the benefit of being a great taproom.
  18. Him, Bridges and a myriad number of other guys on this roster are guys you should be looking to push and move on from if possible. Their upside is capped. Their limitations are known. These are guys that "we're comfortable with" and we've kept them for no other reason but that. Lofton was terrible in Saskatchewan and he wasn't much better here. Randolph taking over for him was addition by subtraction
  19. injury report Eric Lofton - OUT (bad)
  20. He'd be solid depth. I'm expecting Murphy to get a call out to come out of retirement though.
  21. I like Tommy's.
  22. Randolph is head and shoulders better...Bryant back....was a foregone conclusion...Guess we doing him a solid and paying him full pay not against the books and he there if we need him again things looking up hahaha I still tho don't get the Ball rostering tho....not a difference maker on teams....will never see field on defense and if he does we have lost 4 or 5 db types in the game....several different options that would serve actual use would make more sense But for rest of the depth chart....Can't argue it
  23. Hey we're down to one major complaint about the roster, I'll take that as a win!
  24. You mean aside from him being terrible?
  25. cause we likely aint going anywhere with the bulk of the current crew...so may as well get jump on 2026 now.....as opposed to trying tomsort out bulk of it in TC...and ya never know...maybe they gel...and slither in playoffs via a back door cross over or we stay ahead of the Lions and catch lightening in a bottle like 2019 Not so much spending money we dont have, but dropping guys who should have zero purpose here next yr and playing the guys we have, and if they cant cut it....try some more fresh blood. At the very lest some come back to camp with some actual playtime and film under their belt
  26. Did something happen to Lofton for him to end back on the 6 game or is that a misprint?
