Strev needs to start against starters..with starters to prep for the first game..2 full quarters if not 1.5 quarters....give Wilson the 3rd and a bit...let ZC pick aprt scrubs to.close out..Chase no need...he won't see field this yr and is truly a PR guy...development...sure he looked okay but remember who he was playing against...and when it was in game...was basically scrub/garbage let's get everyone in game on both sides time...put him in 1st thru 2nd quarter and we'd all been saying see ya buddy...hope Elgersma shows up soon

I don’t expect all 4 QBs to play tbh. I think Wilson’s snaps will be limited even. Strevy and zach likely play a lot of the snaps unless injury, massive hits, or an extremely lopsided performance. From what I’ve seen and the reports so far I think punting is what it is and will continue to be. Sheahan has been shaky and Evan’s looks like a killer.

I'm sure those 4 will be the 4 all yr...Greek dude on pr Eli will be fine at guard...but excellent at center...I truly don't want us going 3 imports on online as that basically just takes away a guy on defence...Likely a guy on the dline...if we wanna excell on defence this yr we need a better than solid rotation of 3 import ends..2 import tackles and the Global and one nat dt...if we use an import on oline we will have an interior of schmeck...schmuck and one of adams or Woods and likely no Person or any other import that makes a case for the roster...and if that happens we will get gouged and ate alive upfront and need our backend to be more than exceptional...all the time. And as good as they can be back there...that won't happen If Evans out punts punter guy again...there is no reason he shouldn't get game one...and if ya'll noticed on his punts there was minimal return on them..there's a reason for that I not writing Wheatfall off either...I could see a Schoen..Demski..CLercius..Wheatfall..White and D.Mitxhell group...with Mitchel the DA and punt/kick return guy...63k sunk in a signing bonus assures his ticket on roster and I bet he gets his groove going...this regime isn't one to admit error and bite the bulett on money so hes a lock Yeah Wheatfall showed enough potential last yr..and did have a couple nice plays sat...he oozes potential and hes a returnee ...so I'd be shocked hes not in starting unit...if hes not i bet it's Hall...Whom i pretty sure will be on PR if not on roster

I give Streveler the first half and the other two split the 2nd. Let Cooley and Peterson split the game at rb. Wheatfall looked good at wr. He’s got X receiver size and made some nice plays on Sat. I think he and White would take spots right now if I was choosing. I’d like to see D Mitchell get more time next week. I didn’t see him in the field much this weekend.

So for next week's game, I'm looking at: 1. How do Streveler, Chase and Wilson look at QB. Chase in particular (call me intrigued). 2. Does Cooley perform as well. 3. Will a returner seize the job? 4. Punters. 5. Assuming Nic, Dalton and Kevin as locks, who takes the other two spots at WR? My guess right now is its White and one of the Mitchells.

Off this performance I agree. Some one could play them self off next week though I really doubt it. With zach suspended game 1, chase is likely to dress for that game. Then off to the pr. If elgersma doesn’t stick down south we will have a tough decision to make. Best case scenario he sticks down south this year then is in camp next year. I’m a bit concerned that we will put Eli at G and have a lot of issues. I’d be ok with Wallace at G and Eli the 6th. Though vanterpool at g and Randolph at T is better, that’s a bunch of change too so it might not even make us better in the short term. Id di Cooley and vaval, with Sergio and a lber (jones jones Ayers) or a dl (adams woods person). I like vaval as a db and a return man. I’d have him return punts, and split ko returns with Cooley. Cooley would also be a sub pack guy and back up slot. Like we did with gmc and others previously. Cooley and bo in a 2 back set is a lot better option than the meh wr filler we have.

Maybe playing extra Canadians is what he’s always smirking about.

So hard to make any judgements based on the one game. Limited reps late in the game against Gapper 4s isn't necessarily a big tell. Curious to see how many can follow up decent performances this week with another solid outing next week.

Yeah he has consistently showed poise and confidence in pocket..the instance people seem to be focusing on involved a lot of scrubs and guys likely gone before next preseason game...he may have expected seeing guys doing what was schemed...and they were not executing so yeah..he would look dumb founded...hes on a nice trajectory for being legitimate..has all the tools and also just looks the part

Yes. I just feel. You gotta find a way to get the most talented players on the field tho and I think it’s apparent that the o guy they found this year was Cooley. He stood out the most out of all the new O Americans. The receivers were kinda meh outside of when Zach was in. I mean you mention Corcoran, he stood out to me also in his limited targets. Nice couple catches there. Hell I’d say Cooley was damn near player of the game. You gotta get that weapon on the field some way.

Comes down to a bunch of things. This offense is probably the most complicated set of personnel decisions they've had to make in awhile. 1. What's the OL? If you're going 3 imports there, no chance you can fit on an American tailback who is not your returner. This spot is the priority because nothing will work if they can't get it done. 2. Receiver? Pretty clear to me it will be 3 Americans and 2 Canadians, on the top line. Are you comfortable with Corcoran being the backup? Or do you need another American on? Is Demski going to be good to go? Really thin here for Canadians so any injury is going to be a scramble. 3. Returner? Who is returning and can that player fit in at another spot too. We only saw two guys return. Mitchell looked rough returning and already had a go at the job last year. Vaval looked a little more comfortable. Is Vaval good enough to slot in as extra DB? Any chance to get D Mitchell, Case (know he's injured), Wallis/Harris (assuming one of them survives cuts) some live reps on Friday? So far, I'd assume Vaval is the guy Week 1, so that complicates the path to being active for Cooley. DI's will be Castillo, a LB, a DB and ....? Maybe Vaval slots into the DB spot and returns too. Our Canadian depth on D has taken some hits, seems like Makonzo and Kelly will likely be out Game 1 for us, Hagerty and Ball haven't practiced in awhile. You'd assume that 4th DI would be used on O, but never know with injuries.

Agree that it would be tough to get Cooley on the roster when Brady is there. He brings a lot of the same stuff as Oliveira. Unless he can return I see him as our PR backup.

Let me know when anyone other than Brady takes reps at RB, I'll be astounded. 2-3 years ago they brought in an Import RB that looked fantastic in pre-season, cut him the next day and I can't even remember his name. Comes down to a ratio decision, Peterson probably going to get some work on ST.

Christ. Jake Thomas was a starter. Ffs. Peterson btw had 3 carries for 9 yards. Cooley had 5 for 36 and 2 catches for 36 so 7 touches for 72 yards. If anything, Peterson goes to the PR cuz you already gonna have guys like Thomas starting who shouldn’t be. Why add lesser Canadians when you can dress an American who appears to be a legit game changer. Nobody worrying about Peterson and Brady on the field at the same time. Cooley and Brady tho. ? That’s intriguing

I agree, kick/punt cover and returns are not a curse for us. But for one side of the equation - most TDs scored - I'd venture to say this is because we had Janarion Grant in Blue & Gold from 2019 to 2023. And if you look at total yards gained on kick and punt returns since we let Grant get away, Bombers are just about the worst in the league. This, despite the fact we force opponents to kick to us more often than virtually every other team - credit our defence for forcing those 3rd down punts. Really, that is an opportunity squandered: more punts coming to us, but among fewest yards gained. Bomber fans see this intuitively - we are getting lots of chances to return the ball but often losing the overall field position battle.

New guys: 1. Cooley......yeah the ratio, but another game like that, and he will have to be kept. 2. Artopoeous......nice pocket instinct, good reads, ball out on time. 3. Evan......punter, with some actual leg. Vets: 1. Adams......need more impact plays from interior, and he looks like the man for the job. 2. Strev......looked good standing in the pocket, and slinging the ball. 3. Ayers.....dude popped out on the screen, at LB, a number of times Like: The blitzing and pressure packages on D. None of that Tim Burke crap All the QBs looking pretty good in the pocket No like: Kick returns and coverage (sigh) Some of the receivers.......poor releases, poor pattern running, poor catching.
