  1. Past hour
  2. It’s definitely an upgrade over Sterns, it’s just really not the kind of player I wanted. He’s got the exact same issues Pokey does - he’s a target vacuum who has a low catch %, even lower catch % on downfield targets (White had the worst catch % in the league on targets deeper than 20 yards) and he doesn’t really bust any big plays, give us a jump ball target or take the top off a defense.
  3. White is a good receiver so it's a good signing. Now go get that big body big play guy and we're cooking.
  4. It's an upgrade over Sterns. It's helluva lot more likely that he will produce over Logan/Mitchell/Sterns did last season. Now if they can get Dunbar or Rhymes (assuming on a good deal) a tall receiver then that would be really nice. Or heaven forbid the club recruits and brings in fresh blood and gives them a chance.
  5. White/Demski/Pokey is a nice trio.
  6. Didn’t say it was a terrible signing. Just doesn’t really suit the kind of receiver I was hoping for. 5’9”, gonna be 32 years old, fits that Justin Hardy style I just don’t really think I want with the pieces we already have.
  7. I like it as long as hes not the big FA signing. Hes a solid piece to a wr group.
  8. Great signing, he will make Wilson and Demski better
  9. Signing a guy with 4 consecutive 1000 yard seasons and who has remained healthy. Yup terrible signing! His receptions to targets was better then Kenny Lawler and nearly the same as KeeSean Johnson.
  10. Had a case of the dropsies last year. Hopefully he can bounce back
  11. Tim White to the Bombers on a one year deal Gotta be honest, don’t love that
  12. Thank you., He owned an auto body shop on Marion Street for 41 years after the war to 1982 & was a master repairer. It was like he was an artist. He could take a car with twisted metal from a crash & bring it back to life. He was Old School having learned his craft ion the 1930's before the War. He taught his guys how to weld like he was taught with Old School techniques. They would be fascinated with my Dad's welding techniques as they were never taught that. They were all eager to learn. I can remember guys coming up to me when I worked at the shop & saying, "You're Dad is amazing!!" Which made me proud, Generally, he'd hire young guys out of Red River College for their first job. They'd be a "Go Fer" & learn on small jobs that the more experienced guys didn't have time to do as they were busy with bigger wrecks. They would be apprentices. These kids would gain experience & move on to better paying jobs a year or so later. My father was a wiry guy about 5'9 & 160 lbs. But he was as strong as an Ox from all the physical labour he did for 4 decades in the shop. His hands were calloused like boards. To see him just wither away with Denmentia & not be able to function was very hard. Duguid is one of my boyhood sports heroes. Along with his Third, "The Arrow" Rod Hunter. I started curling because of those two. Winning two back to back Briers, Silver Brooms & being the best team on the planet those 2 years in 1970 & 71. The Duguid rink were awesome .I don't think they ever lost a game in both Briers & world championships. May a pox befall on those that make fun of people who are ill & suffering. They never asked for whatever sicknesses they have.
  13. I am in partial agreement, but am given to wonder if he was mostly the benficiary of a very good roster assembled by Walters. When that roster was thinned out by aging, injury and defections, O'Shea's effectiveness faded out because he was unable/unwilling to adapt.
  14. Today
  15. I don't think Walters will bring Woli back with what is out there already. There are some nice pieces for receivers we could use but now's not the time for our GM to suddenly sit ion his hands like he's done the past 3 years thinking that signing our aging veteran core all over again is work done enough this off season.
  16. Lost Grandma to same . Wife is taking care of her auntie with it.
  17. Sorry to hear that man. My grandpa was the same. I used to really enjoy The Onion satire site. Until the day they poked fun at alzheimer's - then I was done.
  18. Fair comment. My primary point is that other coaches who were here had no past glory to live off of. At least O'Shea delivered some glory.
  19. that whole offence put up great numbers. But he did have good numbers the year before too. Yeah I think his fit would be great with demski, wilson and zach.
  20. Yesterday
  21. Injury prone isnt really a thing unless its a brittle bone situation...its more s guy has been unlucky/unfortunate Eberhardt be a good compliment to a guy like Mack who can be the downfield and over top threat Wilson I think is what Eberhardt would give us already...but better...we need a bigger dynamic guy to compliment what we have. Id even kick Rhymes tires if we strike out everywhere as well as either him or Mack would be beneficial for ZC with what I expect numerous ducks ..floaters and throws wuth the wtf was that about tag If we could land a Gittens or Brisett to go with Demski...Clercius in a rotational role and yeah gonna say it..Woli as depth and bring some that old leadership and attitude back as well being ZC security blanket we could have a real good offence and control the clock
  22. I had no idea Duguid had Alzheimer's or Dementia. Some of the comments on social media were just terrible & hurtful. Like one poster on X said that Duguid was last seen sweeping a curling rock on Main Street. Other comments were similar. **** all of them. My dad had Dementia & spent his last years receiving wonderful care at the Riverview Health Centre. Dementia & Alzheimers are insidious diseases. It took 15 years to kill him. He died one day at a time until (thankfully) April of 2002. Piece by piece. Just terrible.
  23. We need two receivers. One who is a guy who pushes the ball downfield & is a deep threat. The other is a possession receiver who isn't afraid to get his nose bloodied blocking for others. A Darvin Adams or Sheed Bailey type. I think Robustelli, Nield or Eberhardt fills that void. A deep threat downfield is much harder to find. That's why letting Lawler walk was such an insanely stupid decision last year. Especially when he said he was willing to take a bit less than he got in Hamilton to stay here. Hopefully that guy is now Ontaria Wilson. Do you think we bring back Keric Wheatfall? Should we?
  24. I swear when I first started reading about him after he got cut that I found something online where he was listed at 5'10"... And just checking Wiki he's at 6'1".... That's definitely better. As has been posted in here a number of times, ZC8 absolutely NEEDS a taller receiver who can win the contested catches, as Lawler did.
  25. Mack is over 6 feet no? https://www.cfl.ca/players/austin-mack/167550/
