  1. Past hour
  2. Zach started the final game and all three playoff games. Streveler rotated in but they really didn't split time. IMO, you're revising history.
  3. How does any of that excuse his play calling? And it's not like other people haven't been getting s**t on for those things. Walters has taken heat for the roster make-up, MOS has taken heat for our roster management and coaching decisions and Hogan is taking heat for play calling. The blame is going to the proper people IMO- Buck got it last year because he is responsible for our backup QB being hobbled but yeah lets create a false narrative that it's all on the OC.
  4. Until they put together 4 qtrs of football I disagree.3
  5. I think the decision to kick the FG at the end is based on percentages. Castillo is like 89% on FGs and almost 100% outside the 50. You take the high chance of scoring vs the 4% chance that gets returned. Normally a missed FG is stopped and ends up being the same as a punt anyways. Lots of factors go into that decision. Maybe we punt and it’s shanked out of bounds, we kick into the end zone for a point going up by 8 (still only a one score game) and they get the ball or it gets blocked. If we lost yesterday because of that missed FG that wouldn’t have been the only reason. We had chances earlier to kick a FG and didn’t losing out on points.
  6. I was more frustrated with the call on 2nd and 3 than I was with the FG attempt. Although, I definitely would’ve punted, that 2nd down call was really bad.
  7. I may be out to lunch here but it seems to me, apart from some ridiculous decisions the last couple of games, our co-ordinators have come out with a decent enough game plan to get us a good lead by the half. Then the opposing co-ordinators, after having a 1/2 to size things up, make adjustments and come out in the second 1/2 and start chopping away at us...but our co-ordinators aren't able to keep up and make counter changes on the fly. Granted it must be harder to make changes on the fly rather than having a half to notice tendencies...but it's something you have to be able to do if you want to be a pro co-ordinator. So...do they just need more time to grow into their rolls? Are they just not adjusting fast enough/at all? Are the players not able to implement the adjustments they make? Any of this making any sense?
  8. I have to admit that I was fit to be tied while watching the second half last night. Fortunately, I was watching with my 8 year-old grandson and 5 year-old granddaughter and some Lego blocks so I kept it under control. I might have auggested that the coaches should be fired but in a nice way, sort of. Anyway, after a sleep, I think that things are shaping up with the D and with the injuries to the DBs in particular, the team will be forced into bringing in some bodies that may develop. Younger seems competent enough although I didn't like his schemes towards the end of the game. Special teams are coming along pretty well, too, that hiccup of a TD return against them excepted. They still take the odd unnecessary penalty though. I like Vaval and I'm beginning to appreciate Sheehan. Sergio, well, he's no Medlock but he's Sergio so that's quite alright. As for the offence, I'm not as positive about them. I hope that Hogan's Zero can figure it out (soon) but I'm not holding my breath. Collaros surprised me with that run to set up the FG so perhaps a few more roll-out plays should be called for, although not too many of those where he has to throw across his body. I'm just hoping for a competent O but I'm concerned that the go-to-guy for the long ones is Demski. I'm hoping for them to make the playoffs and since this is rhe CFL where anything can happen...... Go Bombers Go!
  9. @DTonOB what data sources do you use for your research? Does the CFL have a stats database for media?
  10. Today
  11. I don’t think so. The D is showing improvement already by adding a guy like Allen and person for that matter. The d is a woods away from prob being optimized. the o is a problem for sure but they are about 4th or 5th in points scored ahead of everyone in the west except Sask after their game. 3 east teams lead the way in points scored then it’s bombers by 14 over Sask (Sask has yet to play game 9) I mean we all know the O has been crap but its average right now in reality and really can only get better, it can’t get worse. The D has also struggled leading the league in giving up explosion plays, you’d think they get that under control soon because generally the D ain’t the problem here.
  12. Daddy O'Shea knows best. Duh. So far Mitchell has not looked anything like a great receiver or worth his salary.
  13. I'm afraid that they have already played the best they are capable of. What you see is what we have- a .500 team.
  14. Just pulled out some numbers about the long field goal decision: Kicking: 57-yard field goals had been hit 61% of the time (since 2005) Missed FGs 57 yards and farther had been returned for TD 4% of the time (1/25) Punting: Sheahan's punts from the plus 50: average field position after was the 15 (6 punts) Drives down 4-8 points, 0:40-1:15 remaining starting from the 25 and in: 4 TDs in 18 drives (including the Crumback in 2023) Going for it: 3rd and 1 converted 85% of time 3rd and 2 converted 66% of time (It looked like was 1.5 yards on 3rd down. I really don't think it was a full 2)
  15. Bombers are 4th in the league in points scored through 9 games. Hamilton killing everyone then Toronto then Ottawa (played 10 games tho) then us then Sask (played 8 games ) so after 9 games bombers have more points than every team in the west prob minus Sask (they need to score 15 points to pass the bombers total) more than Montreal and less than Hamilton Ottawa and Toronto. Kinda middle of the pack in terms of points scored. Defensively around 4th or 5th again. bombers are the definition of average this year. Both O and D are average. We have given up 5 or 6 more points than we have scored. For all the Hamilton has a great D talk they have given up more points than us but have also scored way more than us.
  16. 2nd win by Strev was accomplished with 2 return td's and a D touchdown. Think Wilson would have won that game easily also..
  17. Streveler 2-0... Zach below. 500... and did Zach actually take strevelers job in 2019? Streveler had the bum ankle and both guys split time in the playoffs run. Just funny how the guy making top dollar gets all kinds of excuses but the backup just sucks.
  18. On the offense, OB mentioned that if you look at it by quarters, we really struggle in the third quarter. To me that shows an inability to make adjustments which is a huge mark against Hogan.
  19. Well Zach has shown he can actually be a winning starting qb in the league. He took strevelers job even. I mean what has Streveler actually done besides have 1 good game in 5 years now. Streveler isn’t and never will be a starting QB in this league without injury. He’s proven he’s not good enough. Honestly take away the fur coat 5 6 years ago. What’s he done. Throw for 150 yards a game. With more picks than tds also. Streveler has always been how he currently is but he used to be able to run ppl over, he can’t. Dude was never the pocket passer and at 31 32 he’s not going to be. A fully healthy Streveler who can still run has value, an injured one who can’t does not.
  20. They tried rolling him out in the 3rd and Ottawa just keyed right in on it.
  21. I found it odd they weren’t really putting a spy on Crum, or if they did the spy was getting totally washed out.
  22. Nah blitzing invites him to run for 20-30 when there is no one left after he beats the rush.
  23. Playing upwards of 9 guys all 10 yards off the l.o.s just invites him to run and et up yards, and in a game where a lot of guys were having issues tackling....is a bad plan
  24. That 2015 OL was pretty awful. Willy got the living **** beat out of him. He was rocked helmet to helmet in the 2015 home opener (in the first quarter iirc) and was never the same player afterward.
  25. They were also worried about crums legs
  26. There wasn't enough time for Ottawa to do that twice (which they needed to do) so I don't hate the D playing that way. Worst thing to do is give up a quick score. Got to make the O earn it with a long mistake free drive.
