  1. Past hour
  2. Was he at La Roca last night?
  3. Today
  4. We'll never know.
  5. I don't think it's anything about butting heads. He was excused for family reasons, though I am wondering if he is going to be up here with us this year or at all now too.
  6. interesting. Might not be any thing. Either way, I think he needs to play his way onto the team starting friday.
  7. Dillon Mitchell was "excused" from today's practice as per MOS
  8. Hi @DTonOB What's the scoop on Jarious Jackson, will he still be joining the club as the QB coach? or is that not gonna happen anymore? Did he butt heads with anyone on the coaching staff?
  9. Yup. I couldn't tell if Osh misunderstand or was just being difficult. The question as I understood it was "in the interest of avoiding injuries, shouldn't the refs limit 'let it play out' to close calls instead of super obvious dead balls?".
  10. While that was the question he answered, it wasn't the question I was asking 🤣
  11. Maybe it's selective memory but I always feel like we punt near midfield and somehow the opposition ends up getting it on their own 45ish rather then deeper in their own end. I can't actually remember seeing a Sheehan punt and thinking "wow that was a good deep punt".
  12. Has Dillon Mitchell not had a great camp? I thought he was a sneaky good pickup for the Bombers.
  13. Punting from the end zone or deep in their own end is a no win situation, even if the punter boots it 55 yds. it's still likely to end up near the 40 yd. line and points will be given up. In that situation it's easy to blame the punter, but it's 100% the offences fault for not moving the ball out from the shadow of their goalposts.
  14. Brady being out is a concern. Mitchell being MIA is a what is happening..?
  15. Clercius...picking machine!!
  16. Ya that's the big situation that hurts us with Sheehan. If we're backed up with little time left in the half or game, the other team is pretty much always in FG range after the punt because they are catching it in our end. No change of punting out of trouble.
  17. Yep, and given he is just returning to practice now, It might take a bit for him to get his cardio to 100% and the rust off. We will see. But I am confident he will get back to that point and be the guy he was previously. It might hamper his ability to take the next step forward this year though.
  18. If Lawson is healthy again....he's easily in the top 2 or 3 national DT's in the league....and if stays healthy this yr likely stakes a claim as one the best.....Playing behind any other Cdn DT on our roster would be a joke And agree...as for all spots hope none are just handed/rewarded.....but if Evans does what he did again....handles the holder job with no issues for Castillo.....that change has to be made
  19. Booming punts is not something you really want to see often because most guys CAN actually outkick coverage if were to let them, however, when we are punting from our end zone and simply can't give up the single because of the scoreboard it would be really nice to have a guy who can uncork a 60 yarder and just pray that our cover team can do something about the return.
  20. Jake began the season getting the majority of reps and that completely reversed by the end of the season. IF Lawson comes back with the same game he left with, I would think that Jake will have a much reduced role in our defence. Of course, that likely takes a few weeks as Lawson just got back. Lawson will 100% have to show he is fully recovered, however, I see no indication anywhere that he isn't. Yea....not willing to hand anyone a job yet, but if he just does what he did last game I can't see how we can justify keeping Sheahan over him.
  21. medlocks punting was never his strength though. Sheehan is a punter. He should be better than a guy who did everything else.
  22. Some interesting numbers... Medlock 2016 raw average 42.7 long 65 2 singles 1 punt return TD against 35.8 net 2017 raw average 43.7 long 85 2 singles 1 punt return TD against 35.9 net 2018 raw average 44.5 long 62 1 single 1 punt return TD against 37 net 2019 raw average 44.5 long 71 1 single 1 punt return TD against 37.5 net Sheehan 2023 raw average 46.2 long 73 0 singles 0 punt return TD against 36.2 net 2024 raw average 44.4 long 70 0 singles 0 punt return TD against 36.2 net
  23. That brings value in keeping the return team off balance, too. Teams can't just run to a spot 40 yards downfield based on where their returner is set up / reading. Medlock was fantastic at recognizing when a KR was cheating to one side too much, then smashing a low screamer away from him, ending up with a massive punt bounce n roll for 70+ yards.
