  2. An additional $3.5 million a year per team is a giant boost to sustainability, no? Sucks to have to pay for another service, but better than having no league.
  3. Same. Won't affect me at all. But I'm sure for many who use legitimate services it will be a shock.
  4. Same. Won't affect me at all unless my IPTV service gets nuked.

  6. Yeah I'm not adding yet another subscription just for cfl. Guess it'll be cjob like back in the day and then wait for a pirated copy to hit the interwebs.
  7. Sounds like $600 Million over 5 years. 66% increase over the last deal. Each team should get about an extra $3.5 million/yr.
  8. my IPTV service I use on my streaming devices has a whack of DAZN channels in the Canadian Sports section...I pay I think 15 bucks a month and get like i dunno...5000+ channels tho I just remove all the listings for foreign stuff
  9. DAZN is huge and the price just keeps going up every time they add more content. They carry every NFL game. Unfortunately I would guess that there is a very large portion of CFL fans who do not subscribe to DAZN. It's going to be a big uproar on the first Saturday night when thousands of fans can't find the game on TV. How many fans going to pay the 25-35/month for one CFL game per week?
  10. Yards per target is a flawed statistic in that it tries to measure a receiver's efficiency but doesn't account for route depth or QB play. It's also less sticky (predictive) in that it measures things outside a receiver's control (play calling, defence, target volume and overall QB play). To put this in context, yes, Lawler's yards per target was relatively "low" in your example (anything over 9.5 is generally considered pretty remarkable) but he also had the highest average depth of target in the league at 18.2 yards and high ADOT generally reflects a lower catch percentage and lower YAC total. A better measure (and more predictive) statistic would be yards per route run because it strips away bias, measures overall offensive value and reflects a player's ability to both earn a target and do something with that target. Lawler has consistently put up elite numbers (top receiver's general post anywhere from 2.0 to 4.0 YPRR) and last year, Lawler was second in the league at 2.15 (behind only KeeSean Johnson at 2.29). His last year with the Bombers he posted a ridiculous 2.75 YPRR but he's consistently at the top of the CFL in this measure - it's part of the reason he got the bag he did. Numbers are fun, right? Personally, I like to look at both YPRR and YAC independently but neither of those things replace the eye test. I don't think anyone can reasonably argue that Lawler isn't a playmaker with game breaking potential. In fact, every poster on this board has seen him single handedly take over games. Is he worth the money Hamilton paid? I don't think so but I'm not running the Cats.

  13. wow not what i was expecting. I think i recall hearing they host some fight stuff.
  14. Garbage. I hate the way the world is going with all the streaming bullsh**t. Playoff games no less. Well, frees up my Saturday nights now.
  15. Today
  16. Is it boring? 25% of games will no longer be watchable without a DAZN subscription. That's pretty significant. It's currently 24.99/month for a subscription and that number only goes up.
  17. It ain't cheap/ $34.99 a month now. It'll be more next year.
  18. A guy who has never posted on the site before and then creates a new account to talk about a league and money, yeah not sus at all.
  19. Current pricing for Dazn is $35 a month ($25 a month if you want to commit for the whole year). Through some gams on YouTube, will you need to pay for a YouTube subscription as well?
  20. Yes, I agree. We would use LeagueSafe if we decide to make it a paid league. I was looking to gauge interest in starting a league. Hope that helps provide clarity. Let me know if anyone is interested in a league (paid or unpaid) and I will be happy to set one up. Thanks
  21. How much is it worth to each team financially?
  22. It's a huge streaming platform worldwide. Called Da Zone.
  23. I don't like having to pay for another service just to watch all the Bomber ganes.
  24. So to watch all Bomber games will need to pay for TSN and DAZN accounts? Lovely
  25. well I'm sorry but when I said that it was going to be MY final season I mea- *reads the article* IT'S A MIRACLE! https://about.rogers.com/news-ideas/citytv-renews-hudson-rex-for-new-season-and-announces-return-of-john-reardon-as-charlie-hudson/
  26. 3DownNationCFL signs six-year broadcast agreements with Bell Media a...The Canadian Football League has signed new media agreements for the 2027 season and beyond, headlined by a renewed commitment with Bell Media while DAZN joins as a new broadcast partner. Six-year agr Tf is dazn? is that one of the free streaming channels like tubi? Tsn carrying less games is good for quality but surprising tbh how much live sports do they still have? More stuff on youtube is a great move though. Wonder what the financials are. I hope it’s not one of those deals for less money but with the potential to make more
  27. This announcement is boring without financial details…
  28. not sure if this is relevant to the topic but.... in the even the link doesn't show up here's what the facebook post said: Reaffirming a partnership that has defined Canadian sports broadcasting since 1986, the Canadian Football League (CFL) and Bell Media announced today a new, landmark rights agreement that solidifies Bell Media as the home of Canadian football across leading properties TSN, RDS, CTV, and Crave. Bell Media and the CFL extend a longstanding strategic collaboration through the new six-year agreement, with TSN delivering English-language broadcasts as the majority partner, and RDS continuing as the French-language broadcast and streaming partner of the CFL.
  29. Hopefully Bombers win it all this year because I'm considering quitting the CFL with the DAZN Saturday exclusivity starting next year.
  30. RJ Decker feels more like Rockford.
