  1. Past hour
  2. On the offense, OB mentioned that if you look at it by quarters, we really struggle in the third quarter. To me that shows an inability to make adjustments which is a huge mark against Hogan.
  3. Well Zach has shown he can actually be a winning starting qb in the league. He took strevelers job even. I mean what has Streveler actually done besides have 1 good game in 5 years now. Streveler isn’t and never will be a starting QB in this league without injury. He’s proven he’s not good enough. Honestly take away the fur coat 5 6 years ago. What’s he done. Throw for 150 yards a game. With more picks than tds also.
  4. They tried rolling him out in the 3rd and Ottawa just keyed right in on it.
  5. I found it odd they weren’t really putting a spy on Crum, or if they did the spy was getting totally washed out.
  6. Nah blitzing invites him to run for 20-30 when there is no one left after he beats the rush.
  7. Playing upwards of 9 guys all 10 yards off the l.o.s just invites him to run and et up yards, and in a game where a lot of guys were having issues tackling....is a bad plan
  8. That 2015 OL was pretty awful. Willy got the living **** beat out of him. He was rocked helmet to helmet in the 2015 home opener (in the first quarter iirc) and was never the same player afterward.
  9. They were also worried about crums legs
  10. There wasn't enough time for Ottawa to do that twice (which they needed to do) so I don't hate the D playing that way. Worst thing to do is give up a quick score. Got to make the O earn it with a long mistake free drive.
  11. So when it's collaros it's everything else, but when it's streveler he just sucks right?
  12. To be frank, I'm not an Xs and Os guy but I agree that they were too passive.
  13. More OC and couple that with a weak reciever group and no idea how to best use what you have...we gonna be skuffling I also don't think he knows how to scheme and run stuff to work off of later in a game to suck defences in...he almost does some stuff assbackwards too...and is an inexperienced and poor play caller...we've seen that in spades And with ZC not what he used to be..but trying to fit an offence geared toward old ZC...without the skillset in his recievers that made that flourish...well there's another issue. Hopefully Jackson gets some authority here as he does know how to best use skill sets...and manage play calling better...but we have Osh who just thinks everything is ookie dookie and can't see issues...so we may be in tough with his blinders on I think we have talent to be successful in the right scheme with ZC...and if we could get a legit game breaker...opens it up more...I just don't think we have the minds to accomplish it tho...at least not in this current configuration...that's my take/observation
  14. D looked good overall but I would have liked to see some adjustments from Younger. I get you’re playing to a two score lead late but literally all Crum has is the short pass. He can’t hit those intermediate to deep routes, the schemes were playing as if Dru Brown was in the game. I just would have liked to see them be a little more agressive.
  15. Willy also cared way too much about what people were saying about him…. Always reading articles and getting in his own head. That and getting beat up really torpedoed his career.
  16. Well is it ZC or is it the OC? I mean we all agree the O sucks, incredible that we can all agree on that. We all agreed the O wasn’t great last year either. It appears to me tho that hogan is running the same crap buck did last year. The stuff that didn’t work. When Zach was rolling out more the O flowed better (see first half). He didn’t do that as much in quarters 3 and 4 if at all, there’s factors to that like what appeared to be constant pressure up the middle (hello kolo) and play calling which none of us really know what hogan called but when you going 2 and out for almost 2 straight quarters, safe to say it’s not just the QB or OL or Receivers or Brady.
  17. In spite of Crum and Ottawa's O looking compent towards the end and our Defence looking gassed, I thought our D had a decent outing. The better communication, the insertion of a couple of taller guys, although rookies, in the secondary, and better D-line play with greater rotation gives me hope for the future. I liked Allen's play and I think that Vaval can be a solid DB, too. Schmekel was a revelation yesterday. (I watched him closely during the Stamps game, in which he played well, too.) The guy is enthusiastic and has a motor. I didn't like some of Younger's play calling in the 4th though. Too often I saw 3 guys on the line and 9 off by 5-10 yards. Souter said that they were daring Ottawa to run but I saw Ottawa saying....okay, we can run but we can also pass. And, they took advantage of it. Our offence, well, that's for another posting.
  18. Today
  19. Zach did have a clutch run to help set up the winning FG.
  20. I miss Darvin Adam’s. come to think of it, I miss 2019 😄
  21. 5-4 is not an atrocious record. Your takes seem to lean towards 'the talent is adequate but the coaching is not.'
  22. he admitted to it in the post game... in a "I shouldn't have done it and my emotions got the best of me" kind of way
  23. I'd say most of the 2019 team played with an edge. With Darvin Adams leading the charge.
  24. normally you practice and prep to run an extended series of 15-20 or so offensive plays. with some if-this then-that progressions. normally you don’t get through all that in the couple series. depending on how the offence goes you usually finish that around half way through to the 2nd Q. Often, you’ll go back to some of the sequence calls if it works well, or if you didn’t get a chance to go in a certain sequence you prepped for. At the half, you of course don’t have the time to build a full sequence again for the second half, so you have some deeper progressions in the play book to work off, build off what worked and toss what didn’t. Week of prep is an incredible amount of work as an oc. you have a short period of time from debriefing over the previous game to building your game plan for the next, then you spend the week doing install with the qbs/offence and practicing the key plays and sequences. An average oc, preps and installs a good game plan for the week. a good oc builds and adjusts well at half and does what an average oc does. a great oc builds a good game plan on the spot in game and does every thing a good oc does. A bad oc, often sees glimmers of success in various areas. but most often it’s the talent shining through the system.
  25. We only have 26 points in 9 games in the third quarter. No wonder we’re a 5-4 team. We’ve been out coached, out schemed and out played in nearly every single second half this season. It’s very concerning.
  26. Agree with that. For this year, he's the best chance we got
  27. Juran Bolden used to play with an edge that way too. If he took a roughing penalty in the first quarter it was kind of a good omen.
